First time here. My fish tacos were a bit fishy for me but my husband loved his meal. The music is REALLY loud and non stop so definately not a place for a quiet intimate dinner. Only three stars because it took a very long time to get our check and get it paid. Everyone was very friendly!

We frequent El Camaron mostly on Taco Tuesdays! It’s the perfect place to go after shopping at the Escondido Farmer’s Market as it is right around the corner! The 1.50 tacos are good and my husband is obsessed with their Micheladas! When it isn’t Tuesday I like to order their latest addition to their new menu, the almighty and absolutely delicious Patron bucket! The bucket comes with delicious crab legs, shrimp, steak and beans and rice! The crab and shrimp are seasoned to perfection. We absolutely enjoy coming here during the week and the customer service is really good! The only thing I could definitely go without is the super loud mariachi band on the weekends! It’s a smaller restaurant so the sound travels a little too well!

We came to celebrate my son’s birthday. It was important to find the perfect place to celebrate. Well… chips were stale. Salsa was salty. Carne asada was tuff to eat. My husband food was served first, my food was served almost 10 minutes later and my son’s burrito was served 20 minutes after. I asked twice why it was taking so long to serve his burrito, the waitress said because they had to heat the tortilla. We will not be returning to El Camaron!

Pos: the food was really good, I got the green aguachile, a fish taco and a ceviche tostada. The aguachile was perfect on spice and it had plenty of shrimp. The fish taco was just ok. The ceviche was also really good, had lots of meat and the perfect amount of pico. Cons: The drinks were weak and the service really, really slow, even-though they were not busy.

Food= Delicious! The michelada was perfect & the shrimp cocktail was awesome! $ 1 Fish Tacos? Count me in! Service= Horrible! My boyfriend & son stood at the door waiting to be seated for over 5 mins! We were staring at the waitress standing in the corner having a social meeting. Not once did she turn around to see if anyone was waiting at the door just laughing & having a good time not serving anyone. Finally a guy who I assume is the owner came over & apologized & sat us down. Our waitress came over(different girl) & she was nice enough. The food was a little pricey but it was delicious

Terrible service. Our waitress never checked on us after bringing us our food. She never brought our tortillas the entire time we were there even though she asked us twice what kind of tortillas we wanted. Any time I looked for her she was at other tables or hanging out by the bar area with the bar tender. Had the carne asada and it wasn’t that great. This was our first and last time at this restaurant. There’s plenty of great Mexican restaurants in Escondido, don’t waste your time and money here.

So … We went on a Sunday night at 9pm, and the restaurant was packed! Which I understood we may have a wait, but they took us right in, and service was good. Tortillas were hard on the side asked for some new ones and they were fine. We ordered Costa Azul and one had the Chipolte. Chipolte was MEGA hot, beware. Ambience… It was LOUD!!! don’t come here if you want to be able to have a conversation with the person next to you. Overall, it was good just very loud. Food was good. Chips were okay, salsa was HOT!

Worst service I have ever experienced. Where to even begin. I came with my family, which consisted of my 3 little sisters and my mom. Out of about 25 tables there were probably 7 or 8 tables with people when we got there so it wasn’t super packed or anything. First we waited about 20 min to get our drinks and waited over an hour to get our food. Once we got our first plate it took about another 20 – 30 minutes to get our last plate(we were a table of 5). After the 45 min mark the waitress comes over and says she apologizes for the wait and offered us these coupons for $ 5 off our next purchase of over $ 25(as if we were gonna come back). When ordering my mom asked the waitress if the shrimp soup came with vegetables because she would only order it if it came with veggies. The waitress replied no but she could add a note for them to add veggies. An hour later we see a guy walking towards us with a bowl that looked like soup and hands it to the lady at the table next to us and a diff waitress tells him it’s actually for us. He takes it from her and brings it to my mom. It was literally a small bowl of soup with maybe 8 – 9 small shrimp and absolutely no vegetables. My mom says«I thought it came with vegetables?» And without even looking at her the man just says«oh I’ll bring some vegetables right now». Never got them And then, two of my sisters both ordered carne asada tacos… both got chicken. You’d think after waiting over an hour they’d at least get your order right. When I told the waitress we ordered carne asada she immediately remembered and said in Spanish«oh I’m sorry my bad» and offered to bring us two more plates of carne asada tacos. I thought and wait another hour? No thank you. I told her a discount would be nice and they would just eat the chicken ones. I ordered some aguachiles and got maybe like 3 little packs of crackers and had to wait 10 min to finally get more. Once we got our food we realized there were no forks or spoons and had to sit there staring at our food for another 10 min before we got them. I mean it was just horrible horrible service. Very understaffed. Nice people but just horrible service. Our whole time there not once did we get offered a refill on any of our drinks and were too busy asking for napkins forks spoons and crackers to ask for refills. My advice if you can avoid this place do so!

The food is really good but the service is very slow it took me and my wife over 30min just to get our drinks and almost an hour before we received our food. I was told there is a new manager, and that manager seemed pretty lost she kept delivering the wrong drinks to the wrong tables. But like I said the food is great

The food it’s probably one of the best I’ve tried here in Escondido so far. Seafood it’s fresh and well prepared. The prices I feel are to high for what they offer.

This place has the BEST food in San Diego… I’ve been here around 25 times and had just about everything on the menu. The Revolvados are BOMB! Also the Aguachile, Almeja En Aguachile, Pescado A Las Brasas are soooo good! They have GREAT margaritas too. The servers are very nice as well. The music is to loud for me but when the food is this good you deal with it. Best Mex seafood I’ve had since I was in Cabo.

Best Michilada’s! We have gone here a couple of times. While I’m not a huge fan of seafood, there are certainly other things on the menu to try. I really love the atmosphere here. It genuinely feels like you are a place in Mexico. Yeah, sometimes the music is a little loud however, that adds to the experience. Give it a try and definitely have Erika make you a Michilada! Cheers.

Great Mexican-style mariscos place! We had the fish soup. It was served hot and savory. My hubby had the shrimp soup and taged about it as well. We then followed it with Almejas in Agua Chile, SOGOOD! The bartender«El Guero» didn’t dissapoint. He started us with a beer Clamsto make sure to ask for his special«pulpa» rim. Once we drank those we had the«paloma blanca» and an «Especial»…oh lord, heaven! Be forewarned the music was non-stop, whether it was played or LIVE music with the Mariachi. We were informed they have Norteño music Friday/Saturdays. I’ve got to bring my dad here!

The meal started with tasty Cadillac Maggies. Many depths of flavored – more than one –call Über! The Mexican seafood– some of the best we’ve ever had, especially in Escondido. The filter canaria y pulpit fillets was without a doubt the best Mexican seafood I’ve ever had. Husband had the campechanca, saying it was packed with seafood. BTW it’s also a sports bar-wonderful place to watch ‘the game’.

Went in on Thursday night with my family. Ordered«Camarones Revolcados» as an appetizer and they were very good. Our server was very sweet and attentive but we had to wait a little to long for the food. We didn’t get our food together so by the time some of us got our food the others were done eating. I had a plate called«7 mares» it wasn’t my favorite. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t like it. Wouldn’t call it my favorite spot but I would go again.

The food items here stretch from sea snails to tuna. The Campechana has one sea snail and one oyster in it, it’s suppose to be a cocktail of stuff. Mostly contained octopus and shrimp, tasty tasty shrimp. Tostadas Mazatlán come piled with raw shrimp, diced cucumbers, cilantro, tomatoes, et cetera, et cetera. Caution most dishes are spicy! The two tostadas were the size of regular corn tortillas with a hefty portion that was more than enough. They are so hefty you have to break them and eat them piece by piece. Pretty soon you will be left with nothing but lime juice. The ice waters are garnished with a lime slice and plenty of ice! It’s important to have ice.
