Best gelato I’ve ever had. Well done — I’ll never go anywhere else if I can help it. The customer service could use a little improvement. As the only other customer waiting in line while others are sampling, I personally prefer to be acknowledged. I’ve left at times because of this. But still –best gelato.

The portion sizes are enormous! Didn’t know you could pack this much gelato in such a small cup. More like it was packed into it but overflowing. Love this place and love their adorable logo!

Love this place! I have been coming here since they first opened and have brought so many friends here to hang out when visiting from out of town. Love their selection of flavors and the friendly staff. Favorite are: salted caramel Pistachio Tiramisu Passion fruit And the affogato is my husband’s favorite.

WHYDIDN’T I FINDTHISPLACESOONER! Came out of the alley and noticed quite a few customers outside and had to check it out after eating dinner with the GF. Plus I do have a sweet tooth. Kind of a small joint so be mindful if you’re bringing some friends, might be hard to find a seat.(Thursday night is when I visited and seems like there was a bible study going on outside so seating was scarce). Definitely friendly service, we were greeted right away and we literally sampled almost every flavor because the employee wanted our dessert to be just right. They also have pastries and seems like they do lunch sandwiches and soups. But this night we got gelato. I ordered a small espresso and sour cream & brown sugar while Le Girlfriend got limoncello and orange pineapple sorbet(I might have gotten her flavors wrong) were able to grab two big lawn chairs out front and just sit back and relax and enjoy the winter night and delicious treats. Definitely a good end to a date night or a spontaneous visit from a gelato lover or first time trier. If you’re in the area stop by !

One of my absolute favorite local businesses. I’ve stopped in many a time, for the lovely lunch salads, but more often for the delicious gelato and desserts. This is one of the gems found around the main streets of downtown Escondido — and to me, one of the signs of a growing healthy marketplace for small businesses to flock to. The owners and staff are downright delightful. They use fruit and ingredients from local farms and suppliers, like Zumbar for coffee and Bread & Cie. I literally love everything on the menu, from the panini’s and baked goods to the desserts. I’ve never had a bad experience there! They usually serve well over a dozen flavors a day, and they range — so you never know what you’re going to get! Some of my favorites are the mango, the Stracciatella and the Strawberry Basil. They’re open a little later in the evenings(9pm usually) so it’s the perfect stop off after dinner, and you could go in the AM too — for coffee and breakfast, or hey! For gelato, I won’t judge. They also do catering! Want full service gelato at your party? You CANHAVEIT. it’s the best idea ever, just sayin.

Dammm, I think I have found my favorite gelato place! Good selection of flavors, amazing gelato, good prices, cute place, great service… what can stop me from coming?! Nothing! They have a wide selection of regular and unusual flavors, for example the classic chocolate, but they have a spicy chocolate too! Other flavors they have include almond fig, pistachio, hazelnut, espresso, blueberry cheesecake, passion fruit, cinnamon maple, etc. My favorite was the hazelnut and the cinnamon maple. Cinnamon maple tasted very Christmas-y and was a bit on the sweeter side as compared to the other gelati I tried, but it’s so good! Their hazelnut was bursting with hazelnut flavor as opposed to the so-called overly sweetened hazelnut flavors I tried before at other gelato shops. Wow, their spicy chocolate, my goodness, was so rich and I liked how the spiciness didn’t kick in until after you tasted the chocolate. The espresso was full of coffee flavor, just like how their passion fruit tasted like real passion fruit without any artificial taste. All the flavors I tried were dense and creamy without any weird taste or colors. They tasted so natural and rich with the perfect amount of sweetness! Honestly, their gelati tasted much better than those in a few shops I tried down in Little Italy — I ain’t kidding. Plus they don’t charge you ridiculous prices because you aren’t in Little Italy. Did I mention their portion size is decent too? I ordered the medium but it’s too much for me.(I have saved the rest in my freezer for tomorrow hahaha!) A small for $ 3.50 would be good enough if you have an average appetite. Besides gelato, they also sell coffee and panini. I don’t know anything about that though since I haven’t tried. New favorite for ice cream!

EscoGelato is a cute local spot to grab a bite or dessert or even coffee. I came by tonight and the service was good :) ORDER: Iced Chai Latte, Caprese Sandwich and Tomato Basil Soup, and extra small gelato: pistachio & brown butter pecan I felt the iced chai wasn’t sweet enough for
