The better half and I came here for a night out a few weeks back on a Sunday(jazz night) to switch things up and instantly I fell in love. The music was great, the place was comfortable, and our waitress was sweet and attentive. The food was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S, however we weren’t there during happy hour and we didn’t order the special so it was pretty pricey for a «dive bar» of sorts; I think it ended up being around $ 70+ for the two of us. We’ll definitely work on getting back here — but perhaps we’ll try to time it a bit better. What a cool spot though!

Wow. I came in, sat at the bar, ordered a cocktail as well as a to-go order of their tri-tip sandwich and one of their sides of mushrooms. 20 minutes later I got my to-go order. I checked it, no mushrooms. Those were for me. Sandwich was for my bf. I let the bartender know, she checked with kitchen, came back and told me the mushrooms were on the sandwich. Apologized said that the kitchen misunderstood and would have it remade right away. 20 more minutes waiting, she brought me a bag, this time I assumed it was correct and left. I get home and my bf opens his sandwich. It’s the same one I sent back a half hour ago, full of mushrooms, now cold, and cold stale fries. So I just spent 40 dollars on a $ 3 side of mushrooms for me and a $ 10 cocktail. Absolute ridiculousness. I won’t be back. And to top it off still have a hungry bf.

I’ve been here too many times. The good: breakfast served daily. Bloody bar on Sunday’s. Good cocktails, nice patrons. Wonderful, long, extensive and generous happy hour. For an old dive that runs all day everyday the place is extremely clean and does not have any foul smells. Good place to watch football. The challenge: service is hit or miss, some of the girls are wonderful but some just let too much time pass without checking on food, the need for an extra drink etc… the burgers suck, the steak sandwich is just okay. The wings are too much, too fried to hell. The ribs are okay but great on happy hour. Get: the BLK, fried shrimp, chicken salad, prime rib dinner(ask for it hot). The music is generally too loud but great live jazz on Sunday’s.

Sunday is the place to come for mimosas and the bloody mary bar is quite popular with the locals. Brie is an amazing at putting together her staff. Brett the bartender is one of the best in Encinitas and KC, Katie and Maddie are awesome! Make sure you ask for them name when you go! Live music on the weekend is awesome, just about any night you go, they have some sort of entertainment for ya!

I «ABSOLUTELY» love everything about this place! They’re food menu is great and everything I have tried from menu has been delicious! Love they’re MYO Bloody Mary Bar and the ambience environment. I’m 43 yrs. old and this place is an older age group bar not your typical college student younger immature crowd. All they’re employees here are awesome and friendly and they’re prices are very affordable! GREAT job and thumbs up to every employee at Peabodys, from the cooks, bartenders, waitresses to everyone in between that makes Mr. Peabody’s such a great place!

Breakfast Review only! I have never experienced their bar, so keep that in mind, but their breakfast alone deserves a favorable Unilocal review. I had an avocado, mushroom, onion, and olive omelette. And it was amazing. It came with some incredible salsa that went great with the eggs. Also they have an excellent Bloody Mary bar which is a must for any great breakfast place. The staff was friendly and attentive which made the whole meal that much better. I have never experienced them as a bar but judging by how well they run breakfast, I’m sure I’d love it.

Here is a secret– the food is pretty darn good! Saoul in the kitchen is the man in the morning. Bottomless coffee and hearty fresh food makes this a weekly breakfast spot. Our server Kaitlyn is one of the best! She makes our day with her impeccable service and memory. Try the bacon quesadilla for breakfast. The prices are fair and I love the dive bar vibe. I have been here for music and drinks at night and depending on the band it has a crowd to suit the music. That is cool. Very diverse– jazz to Reggae to Rock and Hard rock. Just get the night that is right for you. The Prime Rib dinner is nice to share if you go hungry. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover and give it a try. I am not a fan of the Bloody Mary bar. But there is decent beer and my vodka sodas have been decent. It is a dive bar– do not expect more, but I like it.

Excellent prime rib sandwich — to die for. Every time I go to San Diego I have to stop in and have one. Also super tunes on the Jukebox — without having to feed it money all the time. Lots of TVs for sports.

Have had the prime rib dip sandwich 3 times and it is awesome and huge. They have a new sirloin sandwich that looks awesome. the tacos are good. The salsa should be bottled. It is spicy and good. I haven’t had all the menu items so I can’t give it 5 stars, but the service is also pretty good.

Always wanted to try this place since it’s close by where we live and I finally convinced my bf to go. He reluctantly agreed and to my dismay, we actually ended up leaving after sitting there for 10 mins with no service at all. I kind of felt sorry for he girl that was serving. She must have been covering 10 tables by herself. Just not a whole lot of staff there. I did see staff look at me in the eye, but apparently I was invisible. I really hate being wrong, but my bf was right. Dive place but way worst service than any dive bars I’ve been to in PB.

Bloody mary bar had a couple of jars of some pretty gross looking pickled ingredients… I stuck with just tomato juice. Also beware that they have some pretty strict guidelines about the«free breakfast» with a Unilocal check in. It’s actually buy one, get one, and only with certain items on the menu. As I came by myself, I didn’t want two of their full meals. Anyways, not too bad except the rude server almost had me almost walking out the door. When I asked for her to explain the Unilocal deal after she told me that only certain items work, she snapped«well, if you would let me finish!» I won’t be back.

I went to this grungy dive bar because my friend hosts Karaōke on Tuesday nights. Well, he used to, but he’s being replaced so this was his farewell performance. Anyway, there was only one bartender, so it took a while to get drinks. She was very friendly and helpful when we managed to get her attention. I got the burger special(special of the day), and it was good, but not great. The draft beer selection sure could use a boost. It’s the same list you see at just about all places that aren’t hip to the SD craft beer scene. Too many swill beers(I’m talking to you Miller, Coors, and especially Budweiser) and too may IPAs. Would it kill them to have one porter or stout on tap? The décor in this hole-in-the-wall doesn’t stand out in a positive way. It seemed kind of depressing. I don’t see myself returning.

Nestle in a strip mall, you would never think of walking here… because its a «bar»…yet It is so much more than that, specially on Monday nights: Open Mic. the place was packed, and the talents(minus a couple) will leave you wanting to come back. Food to match the venue, yes, «bar food» yet very very well done, with flavor and some of the dishes«restaurant» ones. Cheers to Sara, who kept our large table hydrated and well feed. there was a certain«camaraderie» amongst all patrons… like Cheers…

I love Peabody’s! Excellent, casual, affordable, neighborhood sports bar with good drinks and super tasty food! I hate to make the corny comparison, but this place is my Cheers. I mean, they don’t know my name. but they do recognize me and always have good service regardless. They always make great cocktails, well-crafted and not too weak. I really like all of their servers and bartenders. We did once have a bartender who shorted us on our change a couple times, but I haven’t seen her in a while. I wish they had a few more beers on tap, but this is the kind of place that caters to all types. Their food is honestly good — meaning I actually go here just for the food. My favorites… Turkey Taco(huge, ask for salsa), Chicken salad(also huge), Prime Rip dip(absolutely delicious and big enough for 2), and the Buffalo Wings. Their house-made salsa is also very tasty. They have a few different specials that are great — I think they have happy hour every day, along with other daily specials. They have early bird food specials that run from 7−11am, including $.75 breakfast tacos that are decent. They have a bloody mary bar where you build your own for $ 2.75, and that goes on weekends until 2, I believe. But the best part is that even if you miss your favorite special, you’ll still get a good deal. They have patio seating, which can get a bit smoky, but it’s nice if you do smoke or have dogs. They have a free pool table, a juke box, trivia night, football, and occasionally live music. My biggest suggestion to them would be that when there is live music, they should clear a few tables out so that there is room for dancing. Thank you Peabody’s! Much love for ya’ll!!!

Had a great«build your own» Bloody Mary, only $ 2.75 — too fun! Shrimp taco @$ 8.99& chicken taco $ 5.99 — each the size of at least 2 tacos. Will be back again & again! Check it out.

Saturdays they have a prime rib dip sandwich special. Its succulent and delicious. This establishment is the epitome of a dive bar but the food is a cut above. I’m not sure where they found this cook but they should make sure he’s paid well because the food is the superb. Nice variety of pub food and taco shop menu items like fish tacos, carne asada fries, burgers, and of course the prime rib dip. They have some sort of electric mechanism on the tops of the bottles that pour exactly one shot and cuts off the stream. No matter how much money you spend here or your local status you’re not going to get poured a strong drink. Its all equal. They have a bloody Mary bar in which an array of bloody Mary condiments set out and they just had you a glass with ice and vodka and let you have at it. Seems like a nice novelty but it turns out bartenders are better at making bloody Marys than I am :/

I was very happy with my Bloody Mary’s — just the right amount of spiciness, not too strong and plenty of flavor. Tasted as good, if not better, than some of my recent Bloody’s that cost 4x the price. Happy hour is unbeatable with 75 cent tacos and wings. I got some turkey tacos and buffalo wings, my husband ordered a few swordfish tacos. Everything was really good! The wings were enormous and delicious. Shelby was awesome, she stayed on top of everything and was really sweet. Not sure about some of the complaints, it’s seriously a standard bar. I think 1st Street on the 101 is way more of a dive.

To say this place is a dive is a tad bit of an understatement lol. Regardless, it’s a late night bar with a single pool table and some entertaining karaōke all in a random strip mall in Encinitas, what more could you expect?! I haven’t actually tried the food but I have been here for a couple of drinks and some entertainment… It fit the bill but I must say, the pour wasn’t the best and the service was a bit spotty. Not to mention that the place was half empty but still I would consider this an average place. There was nothing really bad about it, it just wasn’t my cup of tea… Pros– Location Pool Late night Karaōke Cons– Only one pool table Spotty service A bit grungy Drink pours

I have been wanting to try Mr. Peabody’s based on the reviews I read about the food and especially the prime rib for some time; I drive by the complex frequently but have never just stopped in. Tonight was the night and what a wonderful and memorable dining experience. The food and service was simply amazing. My wife and I went to 5:30 pm Mass tonight and by the time we were finished and in the car, we were starving and she said she wanted Prime Rib. We discussed our usual venues, Bentley’s, Bully’s, etc., but we really didn’t want to spend $ 50 to $ 75 for dinner. She had never heard of Mr. Peabody’s, asked about the reviews and said okay. When we got there,. .. .. .. .. .all you see from the parking lot is a storefront that just looks like a bar,. .. .. and inside,. .. .. .it looks like a bar. She initially wanted me to check it out, but I said, «Come one, let’s try it!» As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly waitresses who said we could sit anywhere, and quickly our waitress, Amber, came to the table. We both ordered the 10-oz Prime rib,. .…at an amazingly crazy price of $ 12.99. The meals came to our table, literally in ~5−10 mins; I was astounded by the speed of the food delivery. And,. .…when it was in front of me,. .. .. .I was speechless(in a good way)? I could not believe what I was seeing, for only $ 12.99. Prime ribs I have had for $ 25 or more were no better or generous in portions and presentation and flavor. It was an amazing, delicious, favorable, and memorable meal. The prime rib was PERFECT. The banked potato was loaded and absolutely PERFECT! The side of mushrooms and onions, served in a small bowl was PERFECT! The au jus was PERFECT! And the side of horseradish was PERFECT — not too strong and very creamy. I was completely dumbfounded that anything this good could be bought for $ 12.99. I was(and still am) so full,. .. .. .. .. .two hours after dinner. Our server, Amber, was exceptional, attentive and very helpful! My only regret,. .. .. I was too full to try the mud pie! Next time!
