I had the best massage today! Ben was my massage therapist. It was amazing from the time he escorted me from waiting room to my massage room. He is truly professional and I thouroughly enjoyed the massage. In addition, the front desk ladies suggested aromatherapy and I decided to try it. It was fantastic! Thank you for helping make my day amazing!

Alexis at the front desk was VERY helpful, this was my first visit to this location and she had time for my information. This location was clean quiet and friendly. I’m happy that I’ve booked more visits :)

The establishment aside, this review goes to the masseuse. I am a massage addict and have been handled by «the best» by others’ recommendations. They were all great, but then I met Cynthia, and the bar was raised to an unattainable level(by other masseuses). She is very kind and modest. If you are the type who needs a deep tissue massage or needs that certain knot out, let her know exactly what you want and she will make it happen. Nothing happens in one session of course, but consistent time with her will lead you to a better quality of life. There are always those days where you have had a long day and don’t want to converse, and that is possible with Cynthia, so don’t be shy and speak up! But I must say she is very knowledgeable about health and wellness, and I highly recommend her advice. She is a delight to talk to. Long story short, your experience with her will leave you not wanting any other masseuse. If I move from the area, I will fly her out if I have to.

Do not even bother! Their customer service sucks, they ask you to checkout and leave a tip before you even get a massage. Everyone gives you different information it’s like they don’t even know what they’re doing. They have a creepy guy named Mike give massages which is HORRIBLE!!! They wont refund you for inconvenience. It is the worst massage place ever! Stay away!!!

I would like to first start out by saying that I have had one other massage at this location before and was very disappointed. However, my friend gave me a massage there as a birthday gift so I decided to give it another shot. The entire process was a disaster. They cancelled my first massage due to «scheduling error» and called me very late the evening before my morning massage to let me know. They rescheduled me for 5pm the next day. An inconvenient time in which I had to rearrange my entire day to accommodate, but I made it work. I show up for my massage, very excited after the long holiday weekend. Because of the long weekend full of family parties, lots of talking and even karaōke, I lost my voice. Losing your voice(also known as laryngitis) is very common and NOT contagious in any way. So after filling out all the paperwork the massage therapist tells the front desk person she will not massage me because I’m sick. I told the front desk girl that I’m not sick, I just lost my voice. Then the massage therapist comes out with the manager. The massage therapist named Sonia, tells me that she can’t massage me because she had Pneumonia in April(really!?? That was 8 months ago) so she didn’t want to risk getting sick. I told her again, I’m not sick, I just lost my voice. The manager said that they«have to back up the therapists decision» which is some sort of employment rule they have. That’s great, I totally understand why they have that in place. But it should only apply in situations that make sense or where the therapist is actually in danger. To me it sounded like sonia had plans she was missing out on and wanted to go home for the day, my raspy voice was her excuse. I didn’t look sick, I wasn’t coughing, no runny nose, dressed in nice clothing(because I was out all day NOT being sick), I just had a raspy voice. I have a friend with chronic laryngitis, her voice almost always sounds that way, so apparently she can never get a massage there. I left massage envy and before even leaving the parking lot I called a place down the street called Massage Heights. I explained the situation and she said«laryngitis is no problem at all, it’s not contagious. We can get you in at 7:30 this evening.» Simple as that. This may have been a case of just one massage therapist being an issue. However, management definitely did not handle this well at all. I left feeling as if I had done something wrong when all I wanted was a little relaxation and massage.

I saw Mike an he was terrible! I have neck issues an can’t be touched there. So when I met him, he said so if I can’t touch your neck, what an I supposed to do with you? He was very rude about it! My answer was I have a whole body, so what’s the problem? Anyway I would not recommend him. He also didn’t offer me aroma therapy, which I didn’t know about until afterwards. When my friend told me how wonderful it was.

I bought a 3 month membership which included 3 massages. I used two but completely overlooked to use the last one. They never make courtesy calls to remind you to book. When I called today, they told me that my membership had expired. So I lost one massage. If I wanted to «unexpire» it, I would have to pay another membership. These places sell you up like no tomorrow. It’s all about marketing. Looking for other places that care about your health and wellbeing. No going back.

To give these people one star is giving them a compliment. Not only is it impossible to get a person on the phone there lack of communication skills is zero to none. They call me the night before to candle my appointment and make no effort to help accommodate my needs. They lady said she could only offer one option at this time and it worked best for them and there staff. I won’t be coming back !!! They wonder why there is a class action lawsuit against them.

My husband treated me to a massage with Cynthia after meeting her and getting the feeling that we would hit it off. She is very positive and easy to talk to. I am a massage therapist myself and am very particular when it comes to being worked on and I must say that I was very impressed with Cynthia and will definitely be seeing her again for another great massage.

The business owner emailed me to talk and I immediately responded and I never heard back from him! Unfortunately I will be unable to update this review as the service is just beyond awful and the service is ridiculously overpriced for what you get.

I spoke to Chelsea Mulhall who is the current manager. I had a problem with their billing system and she immediately fixed it. I feel Chelsea is making a positive difference and she should be recognized.

Receptionist was not high pressure, how refreshing. Your recommendations were spot on. Thanks Taylor for being so helpful.

Came in to use a gift card that I received for Christmas(finally!). My actual massage was really, really good. My therapist, Diana, spent a lot of time working on my neck and shoulders, which I neeeeeeeded. She applied perfect pressure and was very professional. Massage quality wise, it was once of the better ones that I have had and I have felt good all day. Except for that she did cut it a little short. You are supposed to have 50-minutes hands on time in a 60-minute session. I looked at the clock right before she started and right as she walked out, and it ended up being only 47-minutes. Not a huge deal, but still, if you are paying for 50… I wasn’t running late to my appointment, so there was no reason that I shouldn’t have received the full time. The rest of the experience, eh. I know the Massage Envy business model. Been in to this location a couple times, and another one as well. I know they are going to try to sell you on the membership but it still just bugs me! I don’t mind filling-out my paperwork and talking with my therapist about the areas I want worked on, but I don’t like talking with the front desk people about it, who are then going to try to use that as a selling point for the membership. After a massage, I just want to pay and go(or pay before, if that is an option!). I am relaxed and in the zone. But here, you have to listen to their spiel before you pay. I know it is coming but it still irks me! Luckily, the girl checking me out wasn’t too pushy and easily took my no, thanks. If you are going for a massage at the entry rate, $ 49, which you can do your first time OR if it has been more than a year since your last visit, then the massage is a bargain and(mostly) worth the annoyance of the sales pitch. But if you are paying the full price, $ 99, no way! Go to a spa and pay a little more to not have to deal with it, I say.

Massage Envy as a whole gives a wonderful massage and facial. However, I have had multiple problems with this specific location. The staff here seems to lack basic skills of professionalism and communication. I have had an appointment that was started 10 minutes late and ended 5 minutes early, I have had an issue where they did not accept my giftcard, and just today I was sent home because my esthetician was not present. I did not receive a call and was told once I was at the location 10 minutes before my supposed appointment. My recommendation is to go to Massage Envy because they give a wonderful service, but go to a different location other than Encinitas on El Camino Real.

Cynthia is amazing! First of all she gives an awesome massage. Second she is so sweet and professional. She just has the touch. I am somewhat of a massage snob and she is top notch. She knows just what to do to make you feel like our on cloud nine. If I need to have some really deep work done she can do that too! Her location could not be better. The space is clean and private.

CC massage is amazing. She has a true talent and understanding of the body. My job is hard on my body. After a session, I feel so much better.

Sarah was awesome. She adjusted well to pressure requests and knew the exact points where life was previously miserable… Currently sitting in my car unable to move because I’m so relaxed.

I experienced a very good massage with Sherri. She’s very attentive, experienced and professional. I was very relaxed and comfortable and it was obvious that she knows what she’s doing. The front desk staff was very nice and I was impressed with their kindness and professionalism. I would definitely recommend this location!

When trying out a new location, it is either hit or miss when it comes to therapists. This just happens to be one of those times that I did not feel that the therapist I had was what I needed. But apart from that, I enjoyed my experience: the front desk staff was really professional and the spa itself looks really nice inside. I would go back to this location again, but a tip to all new people(and advice I should really do myself!) would be to express over the phone what you want in a therapist and make sure that they have an opening.
