I ordered a special gift for my Daughter and her family to be at their new house on the day of the move. Not only was it more beautiful than they had promised, they delivered it on time. They wouldn’t just leave it at the door. They called my daughter on her cellphone to make sure that they gave it to a person. The actual plant was a bit smaller than promised, so they made a price concession without me even asking. I will use them again and again. It is so nice to find an honest local vendor that I can trust.

I never knew this place existed in all my years living in Ellicott City. However, I was out doing an engagement photoshoot and the bride-to-be really wanted flowers for her shoot. The catch was, her favorite flower was Baby’s Breath, a flower that is often used for adding a little more volume and decoration to a flower bouquet. So most places don’t have a large selection of Baby’s Breath since its cheap and not as «exciting» as other flowers. Anyways, we went to the nearby Giant as we were told they had some… but there was only one bundle of Baby’s Breath… not enough to make a bouquet out of. There was just one. So we bought it. We also did some rapid searching and found this place. I must have driven past this place hundreds, if not thousands, of time. Yet I never really noticed this flower shop. It’s small but very quaint inside. The woman there listened to our somewhat unusual request and helped us so much. She got a bunch of Baby’s Breath and fashioned it into a beautiful bouquet(she also cheerfully used the one we brought from Giant). She even used some of her«emergency stash.» And when we mentioned that the ribbon she was using was beautiful, she gave us a little extra in case the first one gets damaged or what not during our photoshoot. It wasn’t a fancy bouquet and we certainly did not buy the most expensive, exotic flowers around, but the lady who worked there made sure that we really liked our humble bouquet. It wasn’t particularly busy when we walked in(which could be why we had such great service) but I thought it was great. I don’t buy flowers often but I’d certainly consider coming back for other flower needs based upon that experience.

To Those Who Are Currently Looking For a Florist: I am in the process of looking for a florist who specializes in weddings. I was excited to find a floral shop so close to where I live, unfortunately, the Flower Basket did not live up to my expectations. It is quite unfortunate when a business fails to understand that we live in a world that is in the digital age. One bad experience for a customer can taint a business for future guests. I went into the store to discuss flowers for my upcoming wedding, due to the busyness of the store the sales clerk* requested that I schedule an appointment for later on in the day. So I scheduled my appointment and I came in at the time they requested, only to find out that the consultant* who was supposed to help me turned me away because she was busy at the store with previous orders. Without any introduction, the consultant* tells me that she would not be able to assist me and places blame on the person who took the appointment. I felt as if that was unprofessional of her to put her fellow co-worker on the spot. There is no need to complain to a customer about another employee. By the shocked look I gave her, due to the nature of her unfriendliness and unprofessionalism, she gave the comment that I probably would not come to the store again. She then asked me to reschedule the appointment with her after she realized the comment she made was completely unnecessary. I gave the Flower Basket two stars instead of one because I felt as if she was just having a bad day. Regardless, no one should make a customer feel unwelcome. If they have no proper communication system with one another then how can you trust them on your special day? I also left my phone number at the store when I originally scheduled my appointment and it would have been nice if they called me before I came to the store and asked me to reschedule my appointment. This is why I will not be going back to purchase my wedding flowers from this location. With the amount of money I am going to spend on flowers, I would rather give it to a company who would live to receive my business. *I did not use any names out of respect of the sales clerks.
