Had the dinner combo plate– teriyaki beef which the beef was still red so I passed it to my husband. He ordered the sesame chicken and the chicken tasted awful. I can taste the meat had been sour or left out too long and then dipped into batter to get rid of the taste. I had an immediate stomach problem after swallowing a couple pieces. The shrimp tempura tasted crunchy on the outside and too moist on the inside. We haven’t visit this place in a long time and decided to give it a shot again since we were nearby. Tonight’s dinner reminded me why we haven’t been coming here. Displeased with the quality of food.

Consistently good. Good ramen and chicken teriyaki. Way better than the sushi place across the way.

The sushi was good but the service SUCKS! There was teriyaki on the chair I sat on and got stuck, when I told the waitress she grabbed the chair and didn’t acknowledge the main issue, then as they got busier I could feel her rushing us to seat others. Not cool. First time here only because of a birthday dinner for a fam member but it’ll def be my last. I’ll rather stick to wasabis down the street, a much better experience anyway and the family there is amazing!

This was my first visit to Satori. I was in the area for work and was very pleased with my visit. The service was attentive and with a smile. The food was tasty, fresh, and plentiful; while not being a pocket breaker. Definitely with dine here again.

Hands down the best sashimi I’ve had in ages! The oysters were soooooo on point. We went on a Sunday night and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting.

My favorite thing about Satori hands down is the Japanese mural on the East wall. I don’t much care for the TV covering some of it, but you can’t please everyone, right? Satori is your run of the mill sushi place; not fantastic, not terrible. There’s not much to say really, the rolls are standard, and sometimes a bit bland. The apps are pretty much the same. What’s not cool is charging $ 3.00 for 2 people to share one pot of hot tea that never gets refilled. If they want to compete with Fujis(who they are like 100 yards away from) they might want to step it up.

Me and my wife used to come here for years. We enjoyed the equality of the food and as its price. Well today, we came here for lunch. We were surprised the prices went up all across the board. Also my wife tried to replace her rice that came with her bento box with salad. How ever the waiter said it’s now a dollar substitute. She has been doing this everytime we ate here, now it’s a dollar to downgrade from rice to salad. If you want hot tea with your meal, be prepared to spend another $ 1.50 They charge an arm and a leg for everything. Time to find a new Japanese place to spend our money at.

I love coming here. The food is excellent and the service is always a hit or miss. But that doesn’t stop me from coming. The reason why I knock down a star is because of their prices. I remember their lunch rolls were $ 6.95 then $ 7.95 and now $ 8.95. WOW! I know right. I just wish it’ll be lower compare all the sushi place that are doing 50% off all rolls. Will I still be back? Maybe. Lol

We’ve been coming here for years. We have always had wonderful customer service and excellent food. Soooo much better than that nasty sushi buffet across the parking lot. Love the baked lobster roll! My favorite restaurant.

had really high hopes for Satori’s, based on other Unilocaler’s reviews, but my visit fell short tonight. dined in at about 6:30 with my sister & the entire restaurant was full. luckily there was one table open for us, but the restaurant is pretty small. we ordered the spider roll, fire dragon and the 49er roll. the spider roll was okay, but it’s one of those rolls that are too big to even fit in your mouth. the flavor wasn’t all that there either, nothing different or special than other restaurants. the 49er roll was awful; warm and slimy. luckily the fire dragon made up for the two blaahhh rolls. fire dragon was spicy and fresh but not too far from par. the rolls were fairly cut, plenty to eat, great portions but was just disappointing. yet to decide if I’ll be giving them another chance, maybe during happy hour next time.

This is a small little restaurant located off the freeway 99 on elk grove blvd in the Walmart complex. I was planning to go kintori near this sushi place and read their review. I found it interesting that one Unilocaler suggested this spot in their review. The restaurant is not noticeable while passing by. Anyways, I ordered three sushi rolls to go. The sushi tasted really good. I was happy they were not stingy on the meat. And the rolls were big. I’ll have to go back again to try other rolls.

Absolutely great spot to stop in for lunch! Friendly staff, great food, and cheap! All of the lunch rolls were $ 7.95 if I’m not mistaken.

Unilocal is the reason why I returned to Satori. It has been years since I gave them a visit but the other day I was looking for an inexpensive sushi restaurant to take my daughter to for lunch and I stumbled upon Satori on Unilocal. The pictures were consistent and looked great. Satori also advertises all rolls on sale for $ 7.95 each during the lunch hour so I was sold. We arrived shortly after opening time around 11:45 am. This restaurant is small but quaint. We were greeted right away, seated and given menus. Our waitress took our drink orders and gave us a small complimentary bowl of cucumber salad. We decided on three rolls: Fire Dragon Roll(which was popular in reviews and pictures), Baked Salmon Roll, and Spider Roll. All three rolls were great. Each tasted different and had a lot of flavor. We decided the Fire Dragon Roll was our favorite; the tuna was fresh, the roll was nice and spicy. The only complaint we had was the Spider Roll was a bit hard to manage with its larger size but best be sure we ate it all. Customer Service was also great; both of the ladies checked on us often and brought us whatever we needed. I noticed they even knew some of the patrons coming in to dine, which is a good sign. Overall we were impressed. Between the food, service and prices; Satori is a great spot to grab sushi in Elk Grove. Thank you Unilocal

I have been a customer of Satori for many many years but I must say the dine-in experience doesn’t meet the cleanliness standards a restaurant should have. Normally, I always order to go and get their bento boxes, which is one of the better items on their menu. BUT I decided to eat here one day to support local businesses… biggest mistake. My boyfriend and I ordered a Satori special, King’s roll, fried oysters, and my usual beef teriyaki and tempura bento. The fried oysters were such a disappointment; batter was thick and oysters were tiny. It was also pricey for only having 5 pieces too. As for their rolls, it’s a no no no. Both Satori special and King’s roll tasted THESAME, except for the fish of choice(see picture). In addition, the rolls were drowned in an over-excessive amount of sauce that the meaning of SUSHI integrity was also washed away the same time.(SIDENOTE: I notice this so much nowadays, restaurants would try to mask their un-fresh fish with sauces… that’s NOT sushi gaiiiiz –___-) Nevertheless, my bento was OK but after the next factor I mention, I will probably never return again. CLEANLINESS is the most basic criteria for a restaurant if they’re going to be open for business. I was seated near the windows where it was SODIRTY. Also, there were many tiny bugs or creatures of some sort flying around throughout my entire meal. TOSAYTHELEAST, I was very dissatisfied. Clean up your slack, please, Satori.

I’ve never actually eaten inside the restaurant; but they’re definitely a good choice for take out. They’re fast and reliable. During lunch, you can pretty much order any combination from their menu and pay at lunch-special pricing! 3 stars because they will not give you miso soup, if you’re dining out.

I’ve been on such a sushi kick lately and I’m always looking to try a new restaurant! My boyfriend and I were shopping at Costco nearby and figured we’d try Satori because their happy hour is from 4:30−8:30(crazy, right?!). When we entered the restaurant there were only two other parties seated, but what can you expect on a Tuesday night. We were seated by the window and given menus. The Happy Hour menu stands on the table. The waitress quickly brought us water and pickled cucumbers(nice gesture, but I don’t like cucumbers). We started with the Happy Hour vegetable tempura appetizer for $ 3.95. The batter was very light/thin, probably the thinnest tempura batter I’ve ever had. We weren’t sure whether that was intentional or they were just being skimpy(lol), but either way it was tasty and made it seem more«healthy.» It came with carrots, yams, green beans, broccoli, and onions. I liked how the menu had pictures of all the rolls with descriptions underneath. The Happy Hour rolls are $ 7.95 each. Using the large menu, we figured out which rolls sounded good and ordered: Fire Dragon(without cucumber): shrimp tempura, snow crab, avocado, tuna, and spicy sauce. This was our favorite out of the three! The roll was bigger than the other two and not just because it had more rice(like at other restaurants). The sriracha added a nice kick to the other creamy sauce. Kings Roll — shrimp tempura, snow crab, avocado, hamachi, and masago. Yum! The green onions on top added a nice freshness. Satori: shrimp tempura, snow crab, salmon, masago, and avocado. This was our least favorite roll. We were surprised at how bland it was, considering it is named after the restaurant. There was a lot a little too much masago. The rolls were much larger than we expected, which is why we ordered too much. In the future I would only order two rolls for the both of us. Overall, the sushi was tasty and the fish was fresh. My only complaint is that a lot of the rolls are very similar. As you can see, all the rolls we ordered had shrimp tempura, snow crab, and avocado haha. Maybe their chef should switch it up a little more and include more variety. The waitress was very attentive and refilled our water whenever we got about half way. I wouldn’t go out of my way to drive all the way here, but I’d definitely stop by again if I was in the area. You can’t beat their Happy Hour prices and time either. The restaurant is very clean and they play top 40s music. I would recommend if you’re in the area! I’d give it 3.5 stars, but rounded down because I’ve only eaten here once. I will have to see how they are at future visits.

So I come here apprehensive due to the 3 star rating. Typically I only go to 4 stars or more. Well fortunately this place was underscored! We walk in Sunday afternoon after Fuji sushi buffet had closed. We ordered the wakame salad which came out promptly after our waters come out. It is well portioned and tasty, not dry or stale tasting. The Kobe roll was ingenuity working well. I thought maybe it will taste ok, maybe not. But it was flavorful and a good mix of flavors, I’ve had rolls where they try something new and it was a terrible attempt. This was not one of those. The chirashi was up to the test now, I enjoyed it! The slices of fish were thicker than I am accustomed, but they weren’t disgustingly thick, they were a right mix of thickness. The fish was fresh, the salmon melted in your mouth, a surprise from 3 ½ star place. The child’s udon soup flavor was savory and well portioned for a child eater. Service was prompt and the waitresses were constantly working checking on their tables. Perhaps the 3 stars is because of the appearance. This place is not a dive, but it isn’t incredibly fancy either. The chairs appear to be worn and well used with chips present in the seat and the bar seats are cushioned with chips of use on the back. The wood floors are clean, but dull. The sushi chefs don’t wear uniforms, they are in t shirts and clean ball caps. The background music of r&b and the tv volume on is a slightly disruptive sound, but at least the volume is low for both. The aesthetics otherwise are nice and have the potential for greatness. I will return for the food!

Sorry satori son! Ive been here few times before and was pretty pleasant so thats y i didnt hesitate to come back. When i got here the lady told me it was happy hour and gave us the lil happy hour menu, it had sake for 1.99 and it had 8 sushi roll for 7.99 i believe. I didnt know what sushi roll to pick so i just picked em all!!! :) #bossstatues but my «boss move» kinda back fired :(mostly all the happy hour sushi was almost the same with the crab inside of it. That sucked, another thing that sucked was the service, our waitress hardly helped us. Another waiter from another table helped us more. Another thing that sucked was that the sushi kept falling apart seemed like the sushi wasnt sticky enough the rolls wouldnt hold. I also got attitude for asking for more wasabi, i was like wtf i ordered 8 rolls and they gave me a dab of wasabi, last time i came here the sushi was being made by an older gentle man this time they had two young kids. Which maybe explains the fall apart sushi. I never had sake before but if some one would of told me it tasted like warm liquid ass hole i would of passed on it. Like i said ive been here before a few times but i was really disappointed this time and pretty much wont be back again. Sorry santori son thank you come again! But i wont be coming back any time soon :)

Satori is hands down my favorite sushi restaurant in Elk Grove! My family and I come here at least twice a month for dinner. Service is ALWAYS excellent. Super friendly, attentive and prompt.(Hi Amanda!) I had the pleasure of performing during their grand opening and I must say that the owners are such pleasant people. You can tell they out much pride and love into their restaurant. It’s always well kept & their staff always look like they enjoy their job. They have a daily sushi roll that is reduced priced every day during lunch time which is cool! My favorite rolls are the Satori special and creamy tuna roll. I also love the fried oysters, shrimp tempura, gyoza and the tempura udon. Their miso soup is always good, too! I just really love this place! It’s small, yes, but i love it!
