Great food and service was excellent. Recommend it highly. Free samples were yummy too!

Although my experience with this place started on a bad note… I got there at 7 minutes after closing on a Friday, 5:07 p. m… I didn’t give up and I went the next morning and I’m very glad that I did. I wanted to find some German pastries for my mom’s birthday and they had exactly what I was looking for. Marzipan Bullseye cookies that were perfectly made! My out-of-town guests said they were beyond delicious! The service is friendly and fast and prices are very reasonable. I will definitely return to this place every time I am back in El Paso visiting.

The food here is great and the pastries are fantastic. The food takes a while to come out, service can be a bit slow, and it usually takes a while to pay. The quality of the product makes it well worth the wait.

Horrible customer service!!! These people don’t even treat you like a number, They want you to get out of there as fast as possible and were extremely rude shallow and pedantic. They also charged me incorrectly for my three baked goods. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Seriously guys get your stuff together and get some people actually care about their jobs working there.

Place is a dump. Food wasn’t even average. There are a lot of better places to spend your money.

My girlfriend and I was excited to visit this authentic German food establishment for breakfast. We always see the guy waving the sign in the median of Shadow Mountain Blvd. We had the opportunity this last week and jumped on it. As you walk in you are greeted by the pastry display. They have a variety and I found the pastries to be very tasty. Where I was left unsatisfied was the quality of the breakfast items, price and service. I became frustrated at the lack of attention we received from our waitress. She seemed to be managing over 15 tables by herself but nonetheless we waited approximately 20 minutes to place the order. I went traditional and ordered the two eggs over easy, German Sausage and it came with a pastry. Be advised that was all it was. I paid extra for the hash browns. Once I received my food, I found it all to be bland and not worth the $ 9 I was paying. The quantity of my servings should have been better served on a saucer rather than a regular plate. I will return for the pastries but can find a great breakfast in El Paso for the $ 9.

We don’t live too far from Pastry Chef Café and I’d say every Saturday we pass it as we’re heading to whatever adventure we have planned. On the weekend they always have someone jumping around on the median with a big ol’ sign that says«BREAKFAST!» We finally decided to give it a go this past Saturday. When we walked in, I took a look at the pastries available. I was enticed by the rum balls and macarons, but decided against starting my morning with dessert. The pastry selection was good. There were a couple of different varieties of small cookies, eclairs, and some other things that I had no idea what they were. We weren’t every greeted so we eventually just sat ourselves. Including us, there were 20 tables and two waitresses. That may be a lot of tables, but it could’ve been totally manageable had the manager(maybe owner) picked up the slack on their part. Not necessarily waiting on tables, but I saw the waitresses help out customers at the front more than the manager that was standing there the whole time. Needless to say, after asking for our drinks, we weren’t revisited for another 15 – 20 minutes. After looking at the menu and seeing things like brats and potato pancakes, I kind of had a German mom-n-pop styled café in mind as far as it goes food-wise. Any good breakfast starts with a cup of joe so I opted for the coffee. I was a little disappointed to find that the coffee isn’t local or from some roaster they specifically chose because it accents their food and pastries perfectly… alas no, it was pretty regular Joe joe. I’d really like to see them carry a better coffee, but I’m not holding it against them. I went with the potato pancakes with eggs over-easy and bacon and my better half chose the brat with a breakfast pastry and added on hashbrowns. The wait for our food wasn’t that long. The potato pancakes were okay and served with a side of applesauce. I did steal half of my boyfriend’s cheese danish and thought that was nice, flaky and pretty dang good. My boyfriend was less than impressed with his meal and I actually kind of got it. His plate(minus the hashbrowns) was in the $ 8 range which seems cheap until you realize all he got was one brat sliced in half, two eggs, and a cheese danish. Not very filling. My plate was around the same price, but it came with with four potato pancakes, two eggs, and two slices of bacon. I don’t know that we’ll be back for breakfast anytime soon, but we did pick up some of the mini-chocolate chip cookies they had and we thought those were pretty good. The reminded me of eating Cookie Crisps when I was a kid. And I really am enticed by their rum balls because I only know of one other bakery I can get them at in El Paso.

Home-cooked style. Seriously, it’s good if you want as close to home as possible. I honestly feel breakfast is where it’s at! Haven’t tried their cakes, but they look great.

Don’t let the pictures fool you, this isn’t just a specialty cake shop, they’re a full service restaurant and bakery with plenty of treats you can order without calling ahead. Also, they were running a $ 3.95 bratwurst sandwich special which is fantastic, although I think the kitchen is closed for the next two weeks over the 2013 holidays, with just the bakery portion open for some of it.

Few years have past and I finally ordered a cake from here. I have ate few cakes out of this amazing bakery and all of them were so good. A week ago, I ordered this amazing sea theme cake(photo uploaded) and it was beautiful and tasted amazing. I chose white cake and strawberry mousse. I am looking forward to order another cake.

I give my five star rating to this place because it’s really one of the best places I’ve been to in El Paso. It was clean, unique, and the lady was welcoming and really nice. It’s hard to find good service around here and I was impressed. The breakfast was good but what I loved about the place was the pastries and cookies! I’ll definitely be going back for lunch and probably a cake sometime.

First off, this place was clean, well-lit, nice-looking inside, and fairly busy. The pastries in the counter at the front? Well, they made my mouth water, but that’s about it. I couldn’t eat any, since they weren’t gluten free, but they looked delectable. And there was a tv near our table that was taunting us with pictures of their yummy pastries and cakes. The waitress was kinda clueless. I asked her what machaca was and her reply was: «Just meat.» So I ordered hashbrowns, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Hashbrowns were a little too crispy, the bacon was thick and good, and the eggs were pretty good. The servings were rather smaller than I expected, but the price was small, so I was okay with that. They did charge $ 2.25 for a tiny 10 oz. bottle of apple juice, which I thought was ridiculous. My lady friend ordered the huevos rancheros, which was eggs on a tortilla, with salsa on top, refried beans, skillet potatoes and another tortilla – she said it was pretty good.

i came here on a whim with my fiancée… who knew there would be a kick ass european bakery here in el paso… the smell of sweet sugary goodness hits you right when you walk in. the éclair i had was one of best i’ve ever tasted. it helped that it was freshly made with the chocolate smearing my face as a devoured it. btw. my fiancée loves the the danishes and the almond bowties. buttery. flaky. but not overly greasy and sweet. and you can’t beat the prices here either.
