First of all, I am sold on Larry, his personality and character. Great soul who works very hard to add to the culinary options in his adopted town. While his pizzas are excellent, with fresh and quality ingredients, he makes more than pizza. His other Italian and Jewish dishes are excellent too. Charming authentic NY style restaurant

The absolute dirtiest kitchen I have ever seen. The pizza is ok but do yourself a favor and do not look behind the counter. Even after the renovation I’m appalled. This guy is a pig…

Cash only! But it is worth every penny and the experience you receive you will understand why this establishment is successful. Very authentic and innovating recipes. Three words for you, Albacore Tuna Pizza!!! I was not drinking, I am not delusional, this pizza is sold by the slice and always sells out. Everything else is amazing. Anyone that says otherwise is either a food snob or knit picking. Try it once and you will love this hidden gem!!!

Great pizza. True NY style. Homemade dough, crispy, chewy, with just the right amount toughness. Sauce that is mostly crushed tomatoes. Classic flavor with undertones of basil and oregano. Really savory food. Simple, authentic little place in a nondescript strip mall.

The owner was extremely helpful & gave in-depth explanations! We really appreciated this as this was our first time here. We brought a bottle of wine as we read it is a BYOB. We asked and he said we could bring our own wine & beer. They do not charge a ‘corkage’ fee. We sat outside. We ordered a slice of their award winning Tuna deep dish Chicago style pizza. The tuna deep dish was amazingly delicious. No fishy taste, & rather light — not your typical deep dish heavy cheese pizza! We also ordered a supreme & eggplant pizza w/pepperoni. The crust is chewy like a traditional NY style pizza. We are outside & Henry & Michael were extremely customer focused & regularly checked up on us. We will continue to support this business as we grew up on NY pizza. They cater during the day. Monday evening is open for closed parties. Otherwise, they open at 5:30 pm in time for dinner.

Okay so the owner is from Brooklyn, I get it BUT… No matter how hard anyone tries to duplicate NY pizza in El Paso, it just ain’t happening. You need NY water and climate to make it work. Having said that Hello Pizza is decent. Renovation has the place much neater and cleaner than it was with all those dusty shelves stocked with food products gone. A big improvement. Will return to try some other dishes.

Always great food and service. No liquor license so you can bring your own beverage. The pizza Garzing is great too. Thank you Larry

Hidden little gem in the upper valley. I was afraid this place would close as it was affected by the ongoing construction happening on upper valley road but Larry has managed to stay open and thrives. All the pizzas are delicious and all are made by Larry himself. His signature pizza is the one with habanero(forget the name) but sometimes I just ask him to surprise me with a pizza of his choice and he never disappoints. When I walk in there I feel like I traveled trough a black hole to Brooklyn. Try the sandwiches and deserts too. PS the wings are awesome!

Larry is my best friend from back in Brooklyn some 50+ years ago. I know my man can make pizza because he’s one of the best. We grew up on the stuff and he learned the right way. I’ve eaten Larry’s Pizza and know what he puts in it. For those that show up late or drunk, get there early and sober and enjoy yourself. If you don’t like your next slice I’ll send you one from Brooklyn(with a horses head).

I’m not sure what’s going on with the pizzas here. We ordered two medium pizzas and the knotted bread sticks to go tonight, but the toppings along with the layer of cheese fell off from the pizza dough without any«provocation». Yikes, I don’t want to eat the toppings and the dough separately. I know this happens when pizza is over-cooked, the owner. commented upon seeing the dark surfaced pizza, «Looks over-cooked». He has never said such thing about their pizza before, and he regreted not going to a local Italian restaurant.

Live in NYC my whole life and living in El Paso for a few months… If you think this is NY pizza or Italian food in general you are sadly mistaken. Good attempt, owner and staff are friendly and he «says» he imports ingredients from NY. Claimed to have real italian ices just like NY but I watched him take it out of a costco-like multipack of indiviually wrapped servings. Didnt like that attempt at deception. Overall better than Dominos and the other excuses for pizza I see around here but please, stop comparing yourself to NY!

Good pizza. Larry’s a riot. Only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the fact they don’t take plastic.

I’ve been here on a few occasions and I don’t see what all the hype is about? The first time I walked in it was close to closing time(which I was unaware of because, really, who closes at 9pm on a Friday night?) We were at the bar next door and wanted some food to combat the next day’s hangover. The owner greeted me and before I even opened my mouth was telling me he didn’t have time for anything special and all they had was a few slices that he could warm up for me. So I went with that. Good thing I was already tipsy because I was charged close to $ 5 a slice. Second time I went, as I was ordering, the owner started to spout off all his accomplishments and how El Paso is lucky to have him. I’m okay with boasting, but that cardboard pizza I had had on the previous visit wasn’t worth the accolades this dude was going on and on about. I know that he claims to be authentic New York, but he was kind of jerk(which now that I think about it, is pretty New York) The pizza this time was way better, but I still felt like it was missing something. Another time, we opted for some delivery. I went ahead and gave them a call and figured the wait would be long, but hopefully worth it. We live less than two miles, but when we called he said that was out of their delivery zone(?!?) Then, to top things off, I begin to order a pizza, and he tells me the wait is going to be two to three hours. WHAAAAAAAAAAT? I thought he was joking with me so when I laughed, I was asked if I wanted the pizza or not because they were very busy and he didn’t have time to be on the phone. I hung up and went to Little Caesars. For a quarter of the price and twice the taste, I was placated. Seriously though. I haven’t been back since. I’m kinda surprised how everyone says this dude is a nice guy and the pizza is fantastic. After my previous attempts to really like this place, because I love NY style pizza, I’ve said Goodbye to Hello Pizza.

I am biased torward New York style pizzas so I leave out comparisons with Chicago. This is the best pizza I’ve had outside NJ, NYC and New Haven… and better than most pizzarias in said areas. The crust and the sauce are excellent examples of what NYC pizza is supposed to taste like. As another reviewer said, I like the way the crust is over-floured. Also, I like the excellent selection of sodas… many flavors and brands from which to chose, most of them are the smaller(and I think better tasting) brands. I also enjoyed the Italian Ice, I hadn’t eaten it in many years. I have not yet tried anything else on the menu… I enjoy the pizza too much. There is not much room for sitting and the tables and the«restaurant» area is extremely basic. They use the restaurant area to stack supplies. While some people may not enjoy the surroundings, for me, it helps add to the New York feeling. The biggest negative about this is that you really can’t bring a large group there to eat in the shop. The owner(Larry) and employee I’ve talked to are helpful and nice. I am new to the area and they generously told me the advantages and disadvantages of different areas in the city. I recommend it even to the most stringent of pizza traditionalists.

No disrespect to fellow Unilocaler, Angela C, but Larry is NOT Italian, which only goes to prove that a Jew can make pizza as well as an Italian can make blintzes. Everything else in fellow Unilocalers’ reviews are spot on. Definitely in the top two pizza joints in El Paso and for sure the best NY style pizza within 2,500 miles of El Paso. I like the way Larry over-flours the pizza dough. Hello Pizza became the exclusive distributor of Wise brand chips recently, so check them out!

By far the best pie you can get in El Paso in a shop that looks like it was pulled straight out of Brooklyn. Authentic New York style Pizza, with fresh ingredients and hand tossed dough. Larry the owner and chef(straight out of NYC) is always good for a dirty joke and some fun conversation. Although Pizza is my favorite thing on the menu, there are numerous other good things to give a try like the Hero sandwiches, the baked pastas, the piled high Deli cuts, and whatever else Larry decided to make that day. One of the best things about Hello Pizza is that you can walk in and Larry will usually always be cooking something off menu that is always to die for. Also for anyone that likes trying different and unique soft drinks, Larry keeps his shop like a real NYC shopkeeper does, with tons of drinks and items all over the place, often the only place you can get some of these items in El Paso. For anyone that can say«I like Pizza», take a trip into the Upper Valley and give Hello Pizza a try. You’ll be glad you did.

THEMOSTAMAZINGPIZZAEVER!!! I would honestly think about paying for a flight to El Paso, TX just for Hello Pizza. Larry, the Italian owner, has quietly asserted(because Larry is a close friend of our friends in El Paso) that he is usually the top 3 in national pizza competitions and has been asked by world famous chefs to move to Las Vegas to bake his extraordinary pizza at their restaurants; Normally, I would wonder about the exaggerations of such claims… except that Larry is a hard-working, «down-to-earth» guy with the most flavorful, heavenly pizza that I have ever tasted from Los Angeles to New York(I have never been to Europe/Italy so I cannot compare to Italy’s pizza). The crust is crispy, but perfectly soft and chewy. The cheese is gooey and stretchy on a delicious, tomato sauce. His lobster ravioli is pretty good too… but the pizza causes me to salivate just by thinking about it… mmmmm
