Horrible burritos I can see if you not from el paso and like your gringo up food your gonna like this place but man, the tortillas are bad the mole is like it was cover in sugar with water and some mystery slime, there’s plenty of other places to go if you looking for decent price burritos

This strip mall burrito joint looks like a real Mexican dive, but actually the homemade burrito fillings and the service with a smile make it a great experience. I was the only customer around 12:15 pm. By 1 pm, it was full. I chose the bean and cheese burrito as well as the carnitas torta. For 99 cents, the burrito is hard to beat. But the torta was excellent including a toasted bun and nicely seasoned carnitas. The chicken with verde sauce and cheese looked so enticing for a burrito, so I’ll do that one on my next visit. A great find.

I’ll start my review by briefly explaining an overlooked fact about el paso burritos and tacos. In El Paso, burritos are actually usually just tacos in a flour tortilla. Here tacos almost always mean they come in a corn tortilla. The burritos are flour and not the Chipotle or Freebird size Americanized burritos most people come to expect. Rule of thumb, if your burrito is priced under $ 3 then it will likely be a big flour taco. I usually eat barbacoa from a spot right up the street, but had seenn the sign that they have it here too so I decided to try it out. They also sell it by the pound here. It was past noon, so it turned out one order of barbacoa tacos($ 4.99) was all we could get. The barbacoa was medium greasy and not salty, with decent flavor. I’d give it 3.5. Their salsa was kinda of hot, but could use more spices. Tortillas should have been sprayed with a little oil to keep them from being dry, but they were fresh and soft. I also tried a pork carnitas with refried beans burrito for $ 2.50. The flour tortilla was big, soft and appeared freshly homemade. The carnitas were soft and very tasty, but it was pretty hot in the chili department. My buddy tried a burrito with pork in n tomato sauce with cactus. We both agreed that it was a little bland and should have been spiced up more. The prices were good and they have a lot more meat fillings I’d like to try. I am looking forward to a chance to try their breakfast burritos as they seemed to have small assortment up my price alley of $.99.
