I love Morgan Taylor Salon. The people there are professional and do a fantastic job. The stylist are very friendly and do a great job with attention to detail. The owner of the salon creates a very friendly customer experience and is a great person.

rolled through MTS again recently and decided to get my haircut this time while my wife had her hair colored. I came out looking like a champ and my wifes stylist did the perfect color job, we looked wonderful for our norcal visit. This is our go-to salon when in the area for business.

My wife never actually received the facial I’d purchased for her, so this review is about the debacle leading up to it. Are they good at what they do? We will never know. One thing is for sure, customer service over the phone isn’t a strong suit. I called them through the listing for their Arden-Arcade location. Great reviews and a local, non mega-chain business were the deciding factors. The gal who answered the phone worked with me to arrange a facial for my wife. I asked her about the plethora of facial options listed on their website and what the difference was. She said they are all basically a variation of the same thing, which wasn’t helpful. She also said they couldn’t tell me an exact price because they couldn’t specify a choice for me to select. Therefore I needed to send my wife down with cash instead of paying for it ahead of time. Then when I mentioned we’ll be going to the Arden-Arcade location, she CONFIRMEDTHATIS A LOCATIONFORTHEIRBUSINESS. The next day my wife drove there only to find a shopping center and no Morgan Taylor Salon. While she sat in her car, I got on the phone with them again and found out they no longer were there and are now in El Dorado Hills! I was dumbstruck. Why wasn’t this vital information relayed before? We shall never know. Part of being a business these days means being vigilant about the most common ways that people would look you up. Unilocal is tops on that list. Going on Unilocal and simply marking a business as closed is not a hard process and would have saved us the trouble of arranging time off work and a pointless 30 minute round trip. I’ve now marked their Arden-Arcade location as closed, thankfully. It’s also worth noting that the Arden-Arcade salon had a perfect five stars while their El Dorado location is hovering at three. Clearly I’m not the only one who finds something missing. I hope this spurs some outreach for better customer service.

I’m resubmitting my review because I believe my first got deleted by the business. I called to rebook my appt after my 8 weeks and they would not tell me where my original hairstylist had gone because she had left. Terrible service. Do you have bad customer service just because someone is wanting a certain stylist that no longer works for your establishment? That is bad business etiquette. Regardless, I found my girl ANNICA. If anyone else is looking for her she is at SALONELEVEN… PHENIXSALONSUITES.

I have received a couple hair cuts and always have purchased my hair care here until they started trying to charge for shampoo pumps that Aveda supplies all their customers when purchasing large economy size shampoo and conditioner. No other salons charge yet this salon passed up a 60.00 sale over charging .50 cents for a pump. So, I went in to buy my usual items. Spent about 150.00 in product and when I was rung up I asked for a pump for my 32 oz shampoo. I was told I would have to pay .50 cents and I asked them, when did Aveda start doing that. I was told that their Salon has always charged for that. I said I would not be paying for it and if they did not put it in the bag like every other Aveda Salon I would be returning the shampoo. I was then told, as I stood right there, we don’t do refunds. I about lost my cool but calmly asked for the manager. When she walked over I explained that either this Salon include the pump for my shampoo, like Aveda has always done, or I want a refund. She gave me the refund. I have never been back. For what they charge at this salon for their services why would they need to go scrounging for money from customers on things supplied to them by Aveda for their products. I did check some other salons and, no, Aveda does not charge for pumps, they are included with the purchase of your 60.00 shampoo and or conditioner. P. S. My shampoo has gone up 20.00 in the last ten years, I am not paying additional for the packaging to use it. Oh, and the staff acts like they are better than everyone who walks in their doors. Yeah if your so prestigious then why are you skimming for extra change? Get over your selves.

Awesome services with a great staff! I went here for a couple of special occasions hair styles and they did an amazing job. They are a great salon for the EDH area and always seem to have people in there. They are just way too expensive for my budget.

Jackie! you are the best stylist ever! She made my hair perfect for my birthday(and I never go to the salon!) She sat me down and before we even started, she wanted to go over what I wanted exactly & in detail! Even better, she nailed it! Great atmosphere, nice & clean. Gave me a few conditioning samples and even helped my mom a little with her hair! Her price was fair and even said I could come back if I felt I didn’t like it after I went home. You keep up the amazing work Jackie, I’ll be back! ;)

Went for a cut and color for the first time I loved that they used aveda products. The customer service was great and the lady doing my hair seemed really nice and had a lot of experience. I’m always nervous to go somewhere new since I have naturally curly hair but I thought I would give this place a try. Wish I didn’t. By the end my hair was ORANGE I have naturally dark drown hair and Olive skin… NOTGOOD. So much for trying someone knew. I told them to fix it which they did but there was no apology.

Although this salon is an Aveda concept salon, the coloring services are subpar. Also, the time block for service is blocked and if they screw up, or need to correct anyhthing, you are out of luck. There is no one to back up the stylists, and as I experienced today, this means that your service is only available to you on their stylists terms, and timeline. The customer service at the front counter is great, but I absolutely would not suggest this salon. The customer is less important then the stylist at this salon. I was literally treated disrepectfully by the stylist, Annie, who I went to for a partial high light, because after finishing my highlights, and leaving me with grey hair, she did not want to deal with correcting it. Obviously it needed to be addressed, since my hair is colored long and blonde. Although it was my time to get my hair done, she literally had a tantrum, and snapped at me. I expected to walk out of the salon feeling taken care of and with great color, instead I left feeling humliated, as she left me with soaking wet hair. She literally had a little silent-rude body language tantrum when I told her that I needed her to make a correction to the color. Then she had the audacity to not look at me or say, thank you or good-bye when I was more or less kicked out of her chair, after she made a lackluster, very hurried, attempt to correct my hair, which she only did so I would not book her to come back for a correction. To repeat, I was sent out of the salon WITHWETHAIR,(not planned) and this from a master stylist. Did I plan on going out with wet hair? No way. I addressed this with the manager, stating that I wanted my hair dried before I left the salon. She told me that there was no one there to dry my hair. Really? That understaffed or over-booked that they would not finish my service? I actually drove to another salon, to pay to have my hair blown dry and styled, after being forced to leave Morgan Taylor with soaking wet hair. I told the other salon stylist what happened and where I went, and her jaw dropped. How unprofessional! Never, have I experienced the rudeness that I was treated with by Annie, the stylist who I had booked to get my hair done, at Morgan Taylor. I will never, ever, ever go back to Morgn Taylor Salon. Anyone can find a salon in the area that can offer equal service, if not better, very competetively trained stylists, and much less attitude. Go to this salon and risk being treated poorly. I know I was. I was so upset that I actually drove back to Morgan Taylor’s and demanded my gratuity that I left for Annie’s underserving services. I have never ever felt the need to do something so drastic, and believe me, it was worth every ounce of courage that it took to go back into the salon and leave with the tip I left for her. The manager never even called me, after promising to do so, so that I could explain what happened. Unbelievable.

Ran out of the Salon CRYING! Valentines day date and also my birthday weekend, I wanted to get my roots done. I have really long thick brown wavy hair that I have been getting blonde highlights into for a few years now. Usually a friend of mine does it, but here salon is always so far for me to get too, and she also could not book me in time before my date. So i searched around for about a week or two and finally after being recommended i went to Aveda morgan taylor salon in el dorado hills. I went in to ask questions about the services and then decided it was perfect and made the appointment. I wais to get my roots done, which usually implies that i want them to match the rest of my hair color, and to also get a TRIM. I told the stylist this and we discussed that my hair color was a bit blotchy and agreed that she would help improve that. I also said I wanted to keep my length but to take no more than an inch off and keep the cut in a v like shape. 5 hrs later, i lost about 5 inches, and had a straight cut across the bottom. I began to break down and i said«no, i hate this» and she clearly knew that i was upset so she tried to fix it by tapering it. By the end of that, i just told her to stop and said i didnt think she could attempt to fix it anymore without taking off even more of the length. I was so distraught about the cut that I didnt even notice the color until later that day. I paid her at the counter and literally ran out crying and put my hair up. I went to straight to my friends house balling and when i showed her, without even saing a word her response was«oh my god why did she cut all your hair off? and did you dye it brown?» After about an hour i called the salon to speak to a manager, she was with a client and said she would call me back. I called again a few hours later to make sure she would call me that night… the receptionist said she would. She did call me that night and did of course apologize. She did also say however, that had been with a client in the very next chair to me when it happened. Bothered that as a manger she heard me say no i hate this, i would expect a manger to take a moment from her client to try to help the situation. Instead knowing that i was upset, no one stopped me from running out crying. She offered to reimburse me for the cut. As she explained that she saw my hair color before and felt that the agreement i made with the stylist was fair and that she did all she could do. I said fine, as she did work very hard to just fix it, even though i said wanted my roots done. After a day or so, i decided that after everyone kept saying that my hair looked brown and that it didnt look even look like i got ANY color done, i decided that a full refund of 160 dollars was needed. I called the salon to try to explain, but the manager was with a client and said she would call me back. We eventually spoke and she refused to refund for the color. She also made comments like«i was with a client and you keep blowing up my phone, im busy» «why would i walk away from a client»(in response to my saying you sitting right there when i said i hated it and didnt do anything). All in all, I am still mortified about my hair, and only received the measly 30 bucks for the cut. This was my own experience, and first experience with Aveda salon, but it was mortifying enough for me to never step foot in there or any other Aveda salon again. I am left with just having to wait for my hair to grow out and then get it all fixed again.

This salon is superb. The staff is professional and friendly. The service is personal and caring. Their products are only Aveda and really leave my hair looking shiny and clean. I’ve been looking for a salon where I could get a good cut and color for a long time. I am so glad I found Morgan Taylor. I highly recommend you try the salon, you definitely will not have to look any further.

My review was not included — so I am re-submitting it. I was very excited about an Aveda salon opening in my neck of the woods. However, when I had my hair cut and colored there — the color was not applied to all of my hair missing grey spots in the front and she fried my hair. Also the cut was unacceptable. A stranger at a nearby coffee shop asked where I got my hair done so that she would know not to go there! The manager had even gone over it before I left and didn’t see the problems. I had to go to Great Clips($ 14 cut) to FIX it!

This is an Aveda product based salon that opened up in November of 08′ — love it, love it, love it! It’s super clean with a ton of hair, skin, and makeup products available for purchase — in addition to the hair services. I’ve had my hair colored and cut twice and I’ve already booked my third appointment. Go with Erica — she does an awesome job and makes you feel really relaxed. She gave me great suggestions on what to do with my hair because I was bored with it and followed through! The color line is fabulous and looks really natural. Go — you’ll love it!
