I miss this place, especially their art gallery :(Fortunately they’re in facebook and at

Eclectix is closing! 8( 50% off sale on everything over $ 3. From their website: Eclectix will be closing our current brick and mortar location for the time being. Unfortunately, the economic climate to operate an art gallery has been very challenging. Thanks and appreciation to everyone for the opportunity to display all the fantastic art works and I wish all you wonderful artists lots of inspiration and success. The last four years have provided a great opportunity to contribute to the SF Bay Area art scene. After the dust settles, I will be taking a much needed rest, visiting more art in person and blogging about all things eclectic and art related. The website will evolve, into what, I am not sure. It will certainly continue to share some interesting art, commentary, events, with hopefully some additional virtual exhibits to cruise through. A warm, warm thank you to all of you who bought art here at Eclectix and those who purchased items in the store on a regular basis. You know who you are. The support you showed kept us going for a good bit in a hard economy.

This place is SO cool. Great for unusual gifts and cards. Great vintage dresses. Love the art gallery upstairs. The chicks are always super nice too.

Awesome gallery upstairs with wacky, fun items in their downstairs store. The artwork is top-notch ~ amazing talent represented here. This gallery is a hidden gem in the East Bay and a must-see for anyone who’s got quirky, dark, or eclectic tastes.

Love this place! Though the selection of clothes is kind of small, especially for men, everything is top quality. I bought one of the most beautiful sport coats I’ve ever owned there, for a mere $ 25…so it was also a bargain. The gallery is beautifully curated, and the owner is firmly rooted in the neighborhood. If El Cerrito had a dozen more shops of this caliber, it could be a real destination.

What do you get the Artist who has everything? My wife’s cousin recently had a book signing/art/wine/appetizer evening recently which we proudly attended. She is an artist who focuses on contemporary work and has a strong local and national following. We arrived early and browsed the storefront and were blown away by the wide range of inventory they carry. Everything from cool hip watches to a really cool Frida Kahlo coffee table(probably cost a million dollars). We spent an hour just being entertained and kept calling each other over whenever we found something cooler than the last thing we found. The best part of the evening is I was able to make a mental note of things my wife liked and will go back later and do all my Christmas shopping. My wife also found a pair of owl earrings that she later that night gave to her artist/cousin. She was super giddy and put them on right there on the spot.

This place was great… and never knew they had art there. My bf and I stopped by prior to a movie at the SpeakEasy the other night. Be sure to go upstairs… they have a formal gallery with a lot of great original art. The art is young, fun, and not too expensive either. While we didn’t purchase anything that night, we will be sure to come back when we find some wall space for some of the original art.

What a cool place! I’ve been meaning to come here ever since Rinky reviewed it and today I finally did. Well, I’ve tried twice. The first time was a Monday and it was closed. The second time I couldn’t find parking. Third time and all that. It’s well named, w/a quirky selection of great stuff. I walked in and was immediately captured by a Frida Kahlo coffee table. They have a wonderful selection of greeting cards, a whole series of which are local greetings, w/photos of local shops on the front. Great idea! It was all I could do to resist the box of Crime Scene bandaids, but I did. Upstairs is the art gallery. The current show features works that cost $ 50. You can take what you buy home rather than leave it there for the show. Of course I found something, an appealing abstract acrylic painting called«Waterfall». Who can resist art for $ 50? This is a place to return to repeatedly to explore.

What a great place. I’ve lived in EC for 10 years and had no idea this place existed until they relocated to Central/San Pablo. Very cute stuff — great art space(and show) upstairs. The owner is very friendly. The art mix was surprisingly hip and fun for the EC! If you’re heading down to the theater, give yourself a couple extra minutes to check it out. FUN!

Ah, very, very nice! I had always wanted to visit Eclectix when it was up on fairmount, but never had the opportunity. Today I stopped by and immensely enjoyed browsing the upstairs gallery. This month’s feature is Halloween/Day of the Dead celebration. There are mainly paintings, along with a few sculptures, by whom I would guess are local artists. Dark, gothic images that are sometimes equally as humorous as they are haunting, with distinctive colors and tones. And the store is quite cool as well. Where else can you find the following ‘action figures’: –Casanova –Leonardo da Vinci –Obsessive-compulsive guy –Jesus Nice lady working there, too!

I’m sad that Patricia outgrew her space on Fairmount Ave. Eclectix used to be an easy stroll from my house but now I have to skitter down the hill or bike it. The good news is that Eclectix is now in EC’s newly emerging entertainment district. Sandwiched between the Cerrito Theatre(love the place!) and 33Revolutions(think vintage music and more) the whole area is sizzling hot! We call the area«Vinyl Valley» in my family.(Think Gourmet Ghetto)…but you’ll have to take a stroll through the stores ‘n theaters in this fab block to really appreciate that«Fabulous Fifties» feeling. Walking distance from BART, San Pablo buses *and* the shops at the bottom of Farimount near the EC Plaza. This area is starting to crackle with music, good vibes and fine folk. Check it out!
