The food is good but going out to eat in a restaurant in downtown San Diego means a lot of things. The man with the mustache I think he is the owner, he should be aware of culture differences and RESPECT his customers the why he should be. We are in the US not Turkey my friend.

This has got to be the BEST place for Baklava. It is so fresh and tasty. The gentleman that works there is also so kind and always gives my husband and I pieces to try before we make a order. Will always come back to buy these yummy desserts!

Unfriendly staff needed restroom urgently but costumer only. I said I’m going to buy, they said we don’t have go next door. Never again. Once you walk in you will find two guys in chairs that don’t even stand up to great you as you walk in. Have not tried their food

Picked up some treats for a dinner party tonight… well, I had to try some too. VERY tasty and very authentic! This will be on my ‘go to’ dessert lists from now on. FYI — according to the gentleman that assisted me, they do NOT have any affiliation with the restaurant that opened downtown. Stop by for a tea and a treat and take some to go, you will be very glad that you did.

I love this bakery !! They make the most amazing baklava I’ve ever eaten. My favorite is the chocolate baklava and the cream baklava. I highly recommend this bakery.

Awesome array of baklava. These guys know their stuff. Any kind of shop who makes only one kind of food and is able to keep their doors open must be a master at it. And they are. All the varieties I tried were 10 out of 10 quality and taste.

If you want real authentic stuff richly filled with fresh nuts; this is the place to hit up. It has the most special and authentic baklava of the whole west coast I can claim. Most places have very dry, and just not real baklava. This place certainly rocks. The workers are always friendly and patient in advising. Besides baklava they sell savory breads, as well as packaged Turkish products such as tea. Oh, and they’re also located in downtown San Diego as well, so check them out.

I love baklava so I was super excited to try this place. They have so much variety and it was good to have a lot of options to try. I got an order of 10 different baklavas. I felt that they had a lot of liquid coming out of them, not sure if it was honey or oil or something else? But, that made it kind of difficult to eat. My favorite was the chocolate baklava it was good! Try this place if you want to try a lot of different baklavas! However, it was to soggy for me.

The best baklava I’ve tasted in N. A! They’re moist, juicy, and very generous with quality pistachios.

I was eating next door and decided to satisfy my sweet tooth with a piece of baklava. The girl helping us was really sweet. She patiently described all the flavors of the baklava and all the differences in each piece. There was a ton of variety. She even gave us a free sample of the Turkish delight which I thought was cool of her. They sell the baklava by the pound($ 10 lb.). We ended up picking a variety of 7 pieces and it cost us $ 9 so you can average about a $ 1 per piece. We got the pistachio, cream filled, cashew and the chocolate. The piece I tired was nice and crispy, not too soggy or too sweet. It was tasty. I don’t eat baklava often to compare but this was delish. They also sell Turkish coffee and packaged Turkish cookies. One thing I think their store could benefit from is to label their product and have a menu on the wall for the coffees they brew. Would love to try their coffee with a piece of baklava next time I’m ever in the area.

Yesterday, I ate at his new location in Down Town, i like the atmosphere… but when I ordered the — Izmir Kofte– the amount of food is soooo little… I didn’t satisfied at all… they have to double the amount to feel satisfied… I left the restaurant and I was hungry.

I’ve been a big fan of SB since the El Cajon location. I went with my family today and the food was great like always but the staff had an attitude. Don’t know if it’s because they just opening and still training. Will be back and hope tell have a better attitude.

Amazing baklava! I’m a huge fan of pistachio, so everything here is great. Their chocolate/pistachio is amazing, the cashew/pistachio is amazing, there’s a little one that kind of looks like a bird’s nest with pistachios on top… Also amazing. But my favorite was the round one with what looked like ground up pistachios in the center. I filled up a small styrofoam container for $ 6(slightly over ½ a pound), but it is very affordable at $ 10/pound. Think of how much baklava you could get for $ 10!

Baklava store? Amazing! The baklava is so devine and delicious you have to try it for yourself. There are many varieties, one to suit everyone! Plus the guy who served us was so nice! He sold us a variety box he made up of the different kinds that we are in process of devouring. He told us this is the real deal Turkish baklava. Need I say more?! A downtown location is opening within the next month and it will likely be a hit! Can’t wait for everyone to try cause I’m a huge fan already!

I am very very addicted to this place. Sometimes I’m not a huge fan of baklava. Mostly because it usually isn’t made the traditional homemade way. This place gets an A++++. My favorites are the baklava with chocolate on top and there’s also chocolate in the inside too btw! Delicious. And the cream baklava with powdered sugar on top. The traditional baklava is also amazing and prepared perfectly. After my first visit here, it only took one week to come right back. I’ll be back soon!

This is the best baklava that you could get in the borders of the Unites States. Trust the expert on this one and Sultan won’t let you down. Saban, the owner, is down to earth, great guy and I believe he earns his title the Sultan of Baklavas. Ps. If you want to experience some authentic Turkish desert, try his«Kunefe». You will thank me later :)
