Normally love this spot. but not when they want to seat a family of four at a small table, when there was an open booth, because its meant for a bigger party. NICECUSTOMERSERVICE. Fuck the lil red headed troll who doesnt know how to keep customers. just lost customers of 20 yrs. bad customer service.

If I could zero stars. Horrible customer service. My brother got this shrimp burrito and cut it open and chipotle sauce was just coming out of it pounds of just sauce no shrimp and it looked nasty. We told the service lady hey my brother did not like his burrito, she said we still have to pay for the food and the new order. Kinda of pissed us off. Service was horrible they don’t even speak English proper. Horrible place to come to on your birthday. Thanks for the hospitality.

Thank you for showing me what good Mexican food tastes like!!! This place is amazing, the staff is friendly beyond words and the food is out if this world. I had fish tacos and my friend had a shrimp burrito. Both came out fresh and pipping hot. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. A new customer for life.

The Karina’s sauce… is…WOAH! Everything else on the menu is… eh. I have come here plenty of times since I have lived down the street from this place since 1998. My favorite plate, that I always regret not ordering whenever I order something else is the Karina’s ceviche. Whenever I come to Karina’s, I am starving and tell myself that the ceviche will not do the job, but whenever I do order the ceviche, I get incredibly full, so I don’t know why I never order it. Moral of this confusing story that took my review nowhere was… ORDERTHECEVICHE! lol The reason it gets 3 stars and not more is simply because their other food on the menu isn’t really that good. Their meals are way too big(which isn’t always a bad thing, but it is when its full of grease and oil), its kind of overpriced for a restaurant in El Cajon(even when you don’t order fish), and the rice seems like it was cooked days ago and just heated up for serving.

I used to enjoy dining here, but the food, service, and décor have all gone downhill.

Horrible manager! He sent the waitress over to tell us the kitchen closes st 10pm. It was 9:38. There was a 34 cent Corona special but she said they ran out. AREYOUKIDDINGME? The tables next to us all got served buckets of Coronas. I have been here several times before. Same poopy service. The Chula Vista Karinas I hear is fabulous. Hey KARINAS: burn rubber! Haha

We are always pleased with the food and the presentation from Karina’s. The Karina’s ceviche is my absolute favorite. The Grill Prawns with garlic butter are delicious too!

Had the shrimp chipotle burrito and it was nasty. Waste of money. Don’t ever come here unless you feel like throwing money away. Beans on the side were nasty tasted dry and like they were a couple of days old. The burrito only had like 3 pieces of shrimp and was mostly filled with cheese. The house salsa tasted like the tomatoes they used were from a can. Ni una mosca debe de parar ahí adentro…

DONOT order takeout ceviche!!! I was at the restaurant and I asked TWO waitresses if they put the same amount in the to-go order as the dine in, and they said yes we put the same amount. when I got home and opened the box. there was less than a half order in there! I paid $ 16 for a few pieces of shrimp and cucumber. I was pissed! I was expecting the large amount I paid so much for and did not even get half of it! NEVERAGAIN!!!

I don’t understand how every waitress in this place can be as rude as each other. The difference between a good restaurant and a bad restaurant is a good restaurant has servers that don’t make you feel uncomfortable asking for things. I shouldn’t have to constantly ask for water, napkins, plates, silverware, etc. and feel bad about it every time. I don’t like to feel like I am being demanding but that’s how the waitresses made us feel since they literally did nothing until we asked for it. Service aside, the food is incredibly good. I can’t complain about the food at all. It gets a 5 star rating.

Ridiculous for what they charge. Went after church and were put in a corner and basically ignored. The food was on par of a drive through Taco shop. The service was worse and they weren’t crowded. Really unfortunate. We are looking for our go to Mexican restaurant and just can not seem to find it.

Food is usually pretty good but the service is usually not. They need to pay more attention to detail and try to have better customer service, hate having to ask more refills over and over

As good as the food is the service is terrible. It was a completely uncomfortable experience I had and ruined my dinner with my sisters after coming briefly into town I visit family. We came on taco Tuesday which wasn’t crowded at all. We got seated quickly and during our whole dining experience they had maybe 5 tables with at least 4 waitresses working. Our waitress got our order wrong, got annoyed when we brought it to her attention, and would never come by our table. We had to ask another waitress for something and she actually sighed walking over to our table and then sent our waitress over instead of helping us. If you are looking for the complete dining experience do not go here! But if you don’t mind terrible service then the food is great!

I haven’t had too many items from their menu, but what I order and love is their ceviche served inside avocado sliced in half. All I need is a bunch of limes, a touch of salt and some delicious salsa and I’m good to go. Servers here don’t dress like TJ streetwalkers like at their other locations.

This was my first time at a Karinas. My daughter and her husband love this chain. We went on taco Tuesday. Food was the bomb! Service, not so much. The waitress brought out our orders separately, not so much a problem but. 1015 minutes in between? Really. We ask ed for more chips. 1.50 a basket, if you are going to have us wait so long… they should be free. the waitress either lost the orders or never wrote them down. We had to tell her what we had… lol oh, but she didn’t forget the chips. We will be back for the food. Hopefully, we get a different waitress.

I got the calamari fillet, and the the karina’s ceviche were bomb! Flavors, presentation, and freshness of the food were great. The service was good. The place looks prety clean. Bottom line, I’d definitely come back.

Holy smokes! This place is awesome! The food is effing delicious! We started with the shrimp ceviche stuffed avocados. Yummy! Spicy and sweet and the avocado really took the edge off the heat making it such a pleasant appetizer. I ordered the shrimp and octopus cocktail. Best one I’ve ever had hands down. The flavor was dead on. My husband ordered the shrimp enchiladas. Presentation was beautiful, rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked, and the tostada bowl filled with beans was so cute but also tasted wonderful. My husband said it was the best mexican seafood he’d ever had. I actually give this place 4.5 stars. Had to take off ½ a star because the waitresses, while attentive, just weren’t very friendly. Zero smiles the entire time we were there but don’t pass this place up because the food is incredible!

I brought my family who was visiting here from out of town and I was so embarrassed. I told them how great the food is and how much I like it when I have eaten here. Boy, did I look stupid !! it was uncomfortably hot inside, the music was insanely loud, the seafood we ordered was not fresh and our waitress was a joke. The server was hands down the worst server I have ever Been served by. Plus she looked like she was dressed up as «pretty woman«for Halloween. It was crazy ! They seriously have the coolest menu with all kinds of things that sound amazing, what a bummer that they’re not prepared well and it seemed like the cook is lazy. You should of seen how the vegetables in my shrimp fajitas were. They were gigantic slices ! Terrible.
