This place should be reported to the health department. The young girl(child) that took my order had disgustingly dirty hands. Beans were burnt. Guacamole is the highlight of any Mexican food ~ NOTHERE, there was absolutely no flavor. The rancid odor should have been a good indication that I should turn around & walk out.

Since October of last year when Sandra and Obe took over the restaurant the quality of the food has improved tremendously. I use them for all my catering needs, they don’t just cook Mexican food, if you bring them an idea of what you would like at an event or party and they can produce it they will make it for you, hot delicious and savory. My friends are using them for their Reception dinner. I would not go anyplace else for Mexican food, very reasonably priced and the food is great. This lil hole in the wall has the BESTMEXICANFOOD around El Cajon.

It’s 230 on a Sunday and they’re closed. Glad i drove here. The have sign saying they close on the first sunday of the month. They’re supposed to be open until 3 today. I could have arrived earlier if i knew they didn’t follow the hours they post on they’re front door. Crappy way to do business. If you don’t want to work on sundays just close and post your hours accordingly. Just don’t say you’re open and then not be.

Being a crest resident I can say this… The food is mediocre at best… Get past the clowns always hanging around the door and u’re ok… Wouldn’t eat here if they paid me. Just my 2 cents. Couldn’t tell you who owns it. Don’t care, my health is more impotant.

I’ve lived in crest my entire life, and I’m so happy they finally put a Mexican shop up here! Such good food here, the only place me and my family go now!

First off this young couple who own the taco shop are the biggest hearted nicest couple I have met in quite some time. They are very refreshing and we are so lucky to have them up here in Crest. The food ISTHEBEST anywhere! I love Mexican food but I am picky. I have tried many different items on the menu and have loved every single one of them. Everything is fresh and homemade. The owners are very passionate about their shop and will do anything within reason to keep their customers… who they treat like family… happy. Thank goodness for people like Sandy and Obeph! They are hard working wonderful people who make a damn good meal!!! EVERYTIME!!! TRUEAUTHENTICMEXICANFOOD!!! Thanks for coming to Crest! We really love you!

I really, really like this place. My parents are both from Mexico so I was raised eating authentic Mexican food. This place is a gem and I am glad they are in my neighborhood. They do several specials throughout the week and everything I’ve had there I have truly enjoyed. Their beans are definitely homemade, I’ve had their nachos, breakfast burritos and many other things such as Mole, Menudo, Fish tacos, tostadas, etc. this place does a great job and they are good people. They even gave me a ride home once!!! If you live in the area you should definitely give them a try.

These people have gone above and beyond for such a small community when it comes to service. They have taken suggestions from their customers and have really blossomed as a restaurant. I hope they stay a long time. Crest needed some good mexican food up here! And if you’re out of tortillas and dont want to run down the hill, they will sell you a pack!

Great food, and prices. Since Sandra took over for herself everything is great. She makes everything from scratch daily, the beans, rice, and everything in between. She has a great attitude towards all her guests. If something is not correct she immediately fixes it no questions asked. It’s a small but very nice place. Great to have good food up here in Crest. No need to drive down the hill for take out.

After reading the reviews on , we decided to give it a try… we were not disappointed at all! I always rate my Mexican food on the salsa and bean and cheese burritos, and then move to other items from there… both were delicious and fresh. My husband had the rolled tacos and they were really good too! The owners are super nice and friendly and know how to make excellent Mexican food! I can’t wait to try the mole, which is supposed to be delicious!

After reading all the rave reviews in , we decided to give Gabriel’s another try. Our carne asada and adobada burritos were good, big portions, and well seasoned/marinated. The two people working were VERY nice and helpful! We came right before closing and I didn’t see a sign for the tamales, but I want to try those next time.

The tamales are the best, so moist with a spice. Defiantly try the tamales if they have them. The fish tacos are also really good, I’ll have to try other stuff soon

Recommended on NEXTDOOR.COM so my kids and I decided to give it a try since I prefer to support local mom & pop shops. I ordered the flautas, my son the Cali burrito and my daughter got the child’s quesadilla plate. The portions were huge ! The child’s plate only cost $ 3($ 3!). I was not disappointed at all. The owners are very sweet and make everything fresh that day and it shows. None of their food at the end of the day goes to waste, they give it to the less fortunate. We will be back !
