YUP this place harassed me on my review of how their food sucks! And then sent a complaint to Unilocal and then had it removed. DONOTGOHERE, they have rotten food and they have poor service from the wait staff.

Ate here one night with a couple of colleagues and was pleased with the meal overall. We ordered a cheese fondue that came with bread, apples, and broccoli. It was a solidly delicious fondue. We also ordered beef(all the way around) fondue with a broth for our main meal. It came with some vegetables and a few dipping sauces. The dipping sauces were okay, but there was less variety than I am used to and the sauces were just good, not amazing. We passed on dessert. I will most likely come back when I’m in the neighborhood, but may opt to double up on my cheese fondue(oh my poor arteries) and skip the entrée. The beef wasn’t bad… it just wasn’t the best… and the cheese was really all that good. Service is decent. Ambiance is decent. But if you like cheese fondue… it’s a YES!

Good friendly staff and nice food but full restaurant. One waitress. Are you kidding me? Waited 20 minutes to order. Never coming back.

This place is a joke. Stay away, food is flavorless, restaurant looks run down. Menus are falling apart, staff keeps you waiting for a long time. Just get a pizza.

Third time here. Love this place. Perfect date night. The waitress is very personable and even recognized her repeat customers(regulars mean good food/service to me). YES the service is a little slow, but it’s a small, intimate place with 1 – 2 servers. Also you’re eating many courses and a lot of food so time in between to digest is a good thing to me. We had the formaggio cheese fondue, then for the for entrée we had the salmon, steak, chicken and meatballs and then chocolate cheesecake for dessert. All were delicious! I did notice this time they added an upcharge depending on which meats you choose(i.e. Steak and salmon). Anyways still worth it and highly recommended… Just make a reservation and be patient with the service!

It’s hard to rate this place very high after you’ve traveled around the world and tasted some of the best«fondue-like» dishes there is. Yet, there is NOTHING to brag about this fondue place. The Formaggio cheese fondue was shredded cheese with a dash of white wine… that’s it. Items to dip in the cheese? Raw broccoli(that we had to drench in the hot cheese hoping it would cook), Granny Smith apples, and some hard-as-hell bread that was NOT baked in-house and you could see the pattern of the break on the bottom that it was store bought(factory made). Additionally, the bowls these all came in were plastic, very cheap looking. Oh and the pesto that came with the dish(which was the best tasting item of the night), was NOT made in-house either. Store bought pesto. $ 18.00 Tom Yum, Thai style, entrée with shrimp, chicken, pork, and beef. What a mistake. The beef was tough, a cheaper cut of meat. Barely enough vegetables, so much left over broth, no soup bowls or spoons… I felt like a noob tourist trying to eat nabe(Google it, it’s a Japanese soup dish) with a skewer. Our server placed the dipping sauces NEXTTO all the raw meat, so as you pick up a piece of your raw chicken just watch the salmonella drip over your beloved sauces. Speaking of which, 3 out of the 4 sauces were store bought… AKA from a bottle. $ 75.00 Chocolate cheesecake fondue. I mean, you could throw cake batter into that center hot plate and give us brownies to dip and it would be amazing. It did indeed taste good, but nothing breathtaking here folks. It’s melted chocolate. Nothing special, delectable, no culinary twist(except for Oreos, graham crackers, and butterfingers of course), no unique only-can-get-at-that-fondue-place technique… So why come here? I don’t know. The place was deserted. So I thought the food was be better since it was slow. This place screams marketing ploy to me: a bunch of store bought canned food thrown into a hot bowl and the cook in the back sits to watch the tourists pretend they’re in France singing«Oooo-lala! OMG. We’re so French right now. Let’s take a selfie.» Ethically, I can never allow myself or my loved ones to do this again. And dear Unilocal community, I love YOU. However, if you’re a culinary noob and you sense excitement from dipping a pretzel into some basic overpriced cheese, by all means do you boo boo… do you.

I came here on a friday night for dinner with a groupon and it was very nice! The groupon included 2 main courses, and a dessert fondue. The restaurant is pretty small, but that adds to the relaxing atmosphere. There are only two waiters, but they still managed to be attentive and assist all the diners. Eating here is a different experience, you have a pot of boiling broth and have to cook your own meat and vegetables, but it was fun and I would do it again!

I went here for dinner, with a good friend, after purchasing a $ 40 Groupon deal for two. Overall, the food was just okay. We both agreed that $ 40 was alright price for the amount/quality of food we ate, but we would not pay anything higher. The rice they served us tasted sour, we asked the server if she could bring out new rice, but she never brought it out to us. The description in the Groupon is a bit deceiving, as I assumed«free drink» meant one free alcoholic beverage. To clarify, their«free drink» means free soda(one soda). Tips: they have odd hours and feel free to BYOB.

Came here with a groupon the included 4 meats with choice broth and a chocolate fondue. The service was super clean(all plates were rolled on a cart), pleasant, and organized but expect to patiently wait since it’s a man/woman duo. The food isn’t anything spectacular, quality or quantity, but that’s all fondue places. I liked the nuts in my dark chocolate fondue. Again, everything felt really clean and run well, but maybe it’s just not my speed. If you want fondue skip melting pot chain and support this small business. Park in the municipal parking lot across the street — free parking after 6 or 7 pm.

The worse costumes service ever! My girl and I arrived to this place at 8:30 and we ate at 10:15. The waiter had a horrible attitude, and on Saturday night they only have 2 servers. Food was ok but not worth the wait and the attitude.

My Friends and I came here after we got a groupon and figured we check it out. I am always a little bit hesitant to try places with groupons because I figure really good places don’t really need to promote themselves with groupons — but thats just a personal bias. Anyway — we pull up and the palace is a little hard to find and there is only street parking, which was crowding and a bit annoying. The place is small and there are no decorations on the walls — kind of bland and boring inside. There were only two waitresses who also seemed to be serving as hostesses as well and the place was pretty crowded — it was a Saturday night. The service wasn’t bad but you could tell they were sort of frantic with all the tables. I don’t know if this was just a remote incident or common. The food was good. For our apps, we got the cheddar melt and formaggio. Both were great. For our entrees, we got the blanco and coq au von cooking styles. We got shrimp, scallops, beef and chicken. The beef and chicken were good. I don’t eat sea food — but my friends said the scallops were fishy.

I took a French friend for a round of Fondue. We called to reserve on a Sunday night and were told the place was booked. They were still nice to us and found a way to squeeze us in. We ordered a classic French fondue which came with bread, broccoli and apples. The fondue choices were pretty limited and the quantity of servings we got was small. The cheese was clumpy and not well mixed with wine and broth. We both had better fondue before. The service was slow. It even took a while for us to get the check. The place was close to full with a few empty tables and staff was overwhelmed. It was nice that the place is BYOB and we got to bring some good wine. Overall, we were pretty disappointed with the quality of the food and didn’t stay for dessert. We went for some coffee and dessert across the street instead.

Average fondue, inattentive staff. We ordered two of the larger fondues and they brought out one of the bowls of bread after we’d already finished… we all had to share one bowl. We had a group of 9 and went in without reservation and were told it was an hour long wait. When I called back to reserve for an hour later, I was told by another server that they wouldn’t be able to take us… she then backtracked when i told her what the other server had told us. It gets a solid MEH all around. Also it’s creepy quiet in there, they played no music or sound whatsoever.

Came here for a groupon because honestly I don’t know who would pay $ 100 for fondue. For the groupon deal it was awesome! We did order a cheese app for $ 20 extra because you really can’t say you went to fondue without having cheese fondue. My bf wanted to try to the beer cheddar one because what man doesn’t love beer? We both loved it. I could have eaten mine own for dinner and would have been happy(but sad about my cholesterol). The main course was interesting… good but interesting. We ordered the French style broth that was very tasty. You could choose from about 6 different types of meat/fish to dip so we chose shrimp, scallops and steak. I was pleasantly surprised that they served sea scallops and not bay scallops(sea are the big ones and bay are the small ones). It was interesting to cook the raw meat– not really sure if I loved it but it was fun to say the least! Dessert was Devine. Had half dark chocolate and half milk chocolate with Oreo. Gotta keep it simple and fair(I like the dark stuff and hunny likes the milk stuff). I loved the assortment of goodies to dip in ranging from fruit to brownies to pretzels. Love that this place is BYOB! Parking is a challenge. not sure what people do. I love in walking distance so I didn’t need to worry.

The place is located on a busy St, and it was hard to find parking when we arrived, when we walked in the place it felt calm and romantic, the idea of cooking our own meat was a bit disturbing at first but fun, I was just worry about eating raw meat, but it turned out okay the variety of sauces they provide give it a great taste, the white rice was the best. It would not be something I would do if I was super hungry since you have to wait till your food cooks. Service was Excellent and what I love the most is that u can bring your own wine!

I had a Living Social deal and since I love fondue it seem like a great idea to come here. I called the day before to make a reservation and the girl who picked up was super friendly. This restaurant is BYOB which I love since you save a lot of money. I arrived about 10 minutes after my reservation time but this wasn’t a problem. I wish I could remember our waitress name since she was very nice, friendly and on top of everything. We started with the bruschetta cheese and it was delicious. Since I had movie tickets and was press for time I didn’t get a chance to try any of their meat entrees but I did have time for dessert and enjoyed the Bailey’s chocolate.

A great experience. The portions are small but that is expected of a fondue place. The waitress was extra friendly and really made my boyfriends first time and our night at fondue memorable. The desert portions are large! The meats/sea food are super fresh! The décor is a bit lacking but it’s cozy for a night out. It’s byob and we went on a groupon, truly a wonderful experience. We will be back.

Came here for a girls night this past Saturday after purchasing a groupon with 3 of my best friends. It’s BYOB. The food was o.k. compared to the other fondue restaurants I’ve been to. The service wasn’t very good in fact they kept us waiting for a good amount of time when we clearly were finished with our food. Granted there were only about 2 servers that I saw but they should have more staff to accommodate their customers. The décor is very bland with nothing but yellow walls and fondue tables lining the walls. Our groupon included 6 choices of meat and one dessert along with 4 fountain drinks. We wanted the cheese fondue so we ordered two for the table. We ordered the cheddar with beer fondue that was very tasty and the 6 Italian cheese one which was very cheesy and delicious. After the cheese fondue we ordered our mail fondue meal where we got to choose 6 different meats we ordered 2 honey garlic chicken, 2 beef tenderloin, one order of shirmp, and one of scallops. The scallops I must say were a little fishy, I ate one and wouldn’t touch any more. We chose two cooking styles co ca van which is like a beef broth and red wine and a blanco which is a white wine base broth with chicken stock I believe. The meats were delicious minus the scallops, the sauces they served the meat with were perfect for pairing. They served mushrooms and broccoli along with cauliflower to cook in the broth. The whole process of cooking your own food was a lot of fun all together, made for a lot of catching up which was nice. The dessert fondue was my favorite we ordered the mudslide and it was delicious. They served us strawberries, bananas, marshmallows, pretzels that were stale, brownie bites, and rice krispy treats. Overall the experience was a good time, I can’t say I’d go back just based on the other better places I have tried. I thought it was interesting that we were charged gratuity for the entire meal without being told. I mean I was going to tip them regardless but watever. We also had to pay for our two cheese fondues that weren’t included in our groupon. Over all needs better service.

I came here the other night. It’s BYOB. The food is good but the service was eh. There were only two waitresses on a Saturday night who were also acting as the hostesses. Probably even acting as the chefs too by cutting the vegetables, breads and meats in the back kitchen as well. That’s just crazy to me. The place is small and there are no decorations on the walls. I want to say it felt cozy but it felt mostly barren. The service wasn’t bad but they were inattentive because they were juggling all the tables. I don’t know if it’s like this all the time though. Could’ve been a one time thing. The food was good. For our apps, we got the cheddar melt and formaggio. Both were great. For our entrees, we got the blanco and coq au vin cooking styles. We got shrimp, scallops, beef and chicken. All were good except the scallops which had a strong, fishy taste. For dessert, we got the baily’s mudslide which was great. The tray of desserts had an excellent brownie cheesecake that I loved. The pretzels on it were stale though. We came here because we had a groupon. I’m not sure if I would come back. Prices seemed a bit high but since we had the groupon it didn’t matter. They charged us gratuity for what the whole meal would’ve cost without the groupon. We were only a table of 4.

If your looking for a fun new place to go, this is it. I have been going here ever since it opened and is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The restaurant in general is small, however, it can fit many people inside. It is great for dates, dinners with friends and even for large groups. The staff is very nice and there is always deals available to make your meal cheaper and the best part is, it is also a BYOB! For parking, there is FREE valet parking if you are dining at That Fondue Place, I recently just found this out the last time I was there. Dinner wise, I usually get the fondue for two. Its a great deal and a cheap option that includes appetizer, entrée and dessert. If you have an odd number of people in your group, you can always make this meal bigger with an extra price of $ 15 and there is plenty of food to go around. It is impossible to leave this place still hungry! I have tried all the cheeses here, however, nothing beats the Queso! It is Cheddar and Monterey Jack melted in apple cider with fresh cilantro, sweet onions, roasted red peppers and pepper flakes. With this cheese you are served apples and and bread. The bread is always soft and the apples are always fresh. The combo in this cheese is unlike any other. You are able to individually taste all the ingredients in it and is by far a flavorful and amazing experience. For the entrée, you cook it yourself which is a lot of fun. I have experience having all of of cooking styles you can cook you food in and all of them are great. With the fondue for two you have a choice of one cooking style you are able to pick four entrée items. I always get the chicken, beef, salmon and pork. You can also double up on items so if you want two chickens and two salmons they will do that for you also. They also have cooking styles and entrée items that are perfect for people who are vegetarians. And finally, there is dessert which is always pleasing. I get the campfire all of the time witch is melted milk chocolate melted marshmallow with graham crackers. You get a dessert plate with pretzels, marshmallows, rice crispy treats, strawberries and brownies. The cheesecake chocolate fondue one is also great. If you want more brownies also, they give them to you if you ask. All of the meals here are hot and unique. In general it is a smaller version of The Melting Pot. However, the Melting Pot is very pricey and is not BYOB. This place has better food options and is a better bang for your buck. For complaints, The cheese for the spinach artichoke is not that great, it seems watered down. The waiting staff as nice as they are is very slow. They usually have one person running around doing all of the work, however that person is doing everything he or she can to take care of everyone. In general my experiences here have been both fun with my friends and romantic with my boyfriend. It is without a doubt worth trying!
