Food is horrible so is the customer service. The General Manager is rude. She stands at the bar and flirts with the owner(business and pleasure bad combo) while the customers are waiting to be served. This business could be much better. Bad management, horrible good, poor customer service. Was actually considering this place for my birthday party. I gave one star only because I have to. I will not be back.

The food was great, the service was on point. Then found out the owner is a veteran. Great job.

I went to the restaurant for the first time last last with my friend whom I haven’t seen in a year. She had wanted to go to a local diner and I suggested we try this new place called Fusion East. So we went, the restaurant had a neat appearance very modern as well. You can look into the place from outside. It was not crowded. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by the hostess and seated. The menu consisted of mostly Caribbean dishes, which was fine for me. I did feel that the menu was a bit limited in choices as it was only one sided, but it did have a variety of food choices. They also have a separate drink menu. The staff was friendly and willing to answer our questions about the food and drinks. They even helped us to decide what to order because everything on the menu sounded so delicious we couldn’t decide on our own. After ordering, our food and drinks came pretty quickly. Food was well seasoned and full of flavor. I had the jerk salmon, my friend had chicken and waffles which she said was good and we’ll seasoned. The drinks was great, not watered down or leaving me to guess if there was any liquor in my drink. I definitely tasted the alcohol in my drink. We were also pleasantly surprised to find out we had attended the restaurant on a kind of open mic night. A small group of women entertained us with some poetry and music. The entire night went pretty well overall. The restaurant has only been open for 4months now and of course there are going to be things that they can improve. But based on my experience there, I will definitely go back.

It’s a new business! I repeat new! So certain complaints cannot be legitimized as far as I’m concerned. Give them time and the things that were complained about will definitely get better. Will that being said. Let’s talk about the yummy goodness that is happening locally in our hood. It’s a breath of fresh air not having to drive so far for a good meal and great experience

I work near the restaurant. So I always grab a bite to eat from them when I have a break. The only problem is that by the time my food is ready… My break is over!!! The food is good for the most part and prices are reasonable. If you come for happy hour the drinks are ONLY $ 5. I would give them a higher rating but, I had one bad experience with my chicken not being cooked all the way. That chicken was on point to until I got to the bone! They lose 1 star for timeliness and 1 star for the undercooked chicken that one day! Mind you I have been here several times and for the most part it’s good.

Fusion East was a hit! Now you know my reviews are always critical. I am in tears that there is actually a legit restaurants in my beloved East New York. First of all, ask the staff what they would order or recommend. Apparently this restaurant has gotten a lot better since when it first opened in October, but this is my first time here. The drinks are on point! My friend and I ordered drinks at the bar called the Fusion Thyme and the Front Porch Sweet Tea. Both were strong and hit the spot. You can’t miss with the drinks. If you are weak and don’t like strong drinks then don’t come here. The drinks are strong and delicious. Please forget the chain restaurants(e.g. Applebee’s, buffalo wild wing, etc.) in gateway if you are looking for a real drink. Currently waiting for some appetizers and the I will write another review.

I had the opportunity to dine here for lunch on I believe 12÷23÷15. I myself am a waitress and have been for years, I actually even applied to this restaurant because I live two blocks away(thankfully I wasn’t called it’s so slow). When I entered there wasn’t a bartender or waitress in sight. After about five minutes a cook/chef came out and he informed me there was no bartender or waitress yet because it has been slow for them(the server arrived after two hours). The chef winded up serving me, he served my drinks and also cooked the food which I thought was strange. I was the only patron in the restaurant, but eventually a few people started coming. A woman who I think was maybe a manger began to serve me, she was very kind and sweet. I had the shrimp roti, it was AMAZING. This restaurant has a nice ambiance but every time I pass it seems to be empty. I went one day for dinner and it was closed. My fiancé and I were planning to go on NYE but when we passed at 11:30pm there weren’t any customers, we just saw a DJ and the servers, so we decided to pass. Nonetheless hopefully it picks up in the warmer seasons and becomes a neighborhood hot spot. East NY could use some hot spots, chain restaurants suck, so I always wind up in Williamsburg, fort greene or the city.

Very Nice & Low-key spot. Nice music playing, candles lit and is located in a very village-like neighborhood. Made me feel like I definitely wasn’t located in Brooklyn. Wasn’t very crowded at all and the crowd itself was very cool and chill. Love, Love, Love the bartender, Natalie. Drinks were strong and the food was pretty good as well… Had their version of a Rum Punch as well as the Jerk wings & fried wings. I’ll be returning…

Came here on a Sunday. They do have a fixed brunch menu so you can’t order from the regular menu but you do get unlimited mimosas for as long as you can take them, unlike the 2 hour limit a lot of places have, or maybe I was there on a slow day? Either way, the portion sizes are good. You get enough to fill you. The staff was nice on this day. It seemed like a good place to hang out, get a drink, watch the game, etc. My order came out on time but wanted to try the cornbread, which we were told would be ready, then later on was told the chefs made it in an entire batch so it wouldn’t be ready until much later so we just had to let that go. Everything else was good. Jerk wings were good. Can’t complain about the ackee and saltfish either. If I’m in the area, I’ll probably be back.

Folks I was there to help launch Fusion East Caribbean and Soul Food Restaurant. The doors are now open and I HAVEMOVEDON. I don’t have anything to do with the Restaurant since it’s opening. I would greatly appreciate everyone who has reached out to me — to keep reaching out to me personally. Understand the A.G. White brand continues it’s endeavors — elsewhere!

This food is bad… And I mean bad in a bad way. The only good thing about this spot is he drinks… Other than that if you’re hungry stay home. Note to owner instead of walking around asking if everyone is good… How about you fly to Jamaica and find a real chef that can cook some Caribbean cuisine.

I sooo wanted to love this place and become a regular but after last night, I just can’t. Over the years I have been to many bar and restaurants so I think I know enough about decent customer service and this place does not have it. Consistency is a huge problem as well. I ordered my usual which is a Patron Margarita– I get the drink and it’s awful. After about 15 minutes, the bartender made her way down the bar after taking a break from entertaining her favorites and paying attention to no one else. Honestly, Im sure she only made her way down because my boyfriend(a new face) came in. I first tell him to taste it because maybe it was just me– he also says it’s nasty. He tells her about it, and the bartender proceeds to say How? Its top shelf Don Julio??? Only now she says there is no Patron, when I clearly asked for Patron– if you are goung to substitute at least inform me so I can say yes or now. Another thing I dont appreciate it someone telling me it can not be bad if I am telling you the drink is bad– dont blame Don Julio because I have had that brand on many occasions and never tasting so awful. Last time I checked, I am the paying customer and I can easily take my money elsewhere. Needless to say, I don’t think I will be coming back– the favoritism, professionalism, inconsistency and customer service is unacceptable for me.

New spot in my neighborhood, I must say the establishment has a great ambience to it, it’s nicely lit and appreciate music playing. Now let’s get to the service and food… the waiter was very sweet, and very attentive. The food was ok… my table ordered the salmon cakes as appetizers seasoned well but was a lil too greasy. Main dish we ordered jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage(the jerk chicken was a lil dry but was tasteful), curry chicken roti(was good, a lil more meat and it will be perfect) fried chicken with Mac and cheese and cabbage(fried chicken was good but came as leg and thigh and the pieces was small my friend wanted white meat, Mac and cheese was missing a lil seasoning but it wasn’t bad), fusion pasta(was just plain nasty I can’t lie) but overall the experience was good, I had great time with friends and family!

I like this place and I’ll be back because I want to love it. I want to give this place a shot despite the negative reviews. It’s a bright, clean spot in a quiet neighborhood — can’t beat that in East New York. The servers are sweet and you can tell they care. We ordered mojitos to start and they were spot on! The bartender knows what he is doing. Along with ordering our drinks, which were served immediately, we ordered the jerk chicken wings, which didn’t come out until 30 minutes later. Now, I’m a patient person but, really? The argument can be made that they prepare everything fresh, but the wings weren’t sizzling hot — or hot at all– when we got them. When we finally started to eat the wings(which were decently seasoned), I couldn’t help but wonder why the accompanying sauce wasn’t used to season the wings… the sauce makes the wings soooo much better, throw it on those wings. Then serve another sauce for some extra zing! Just a thought, but I digress. Our entrée came out 20 mins later and in fragments — I have to agree with the other reviews, food service is extremely slow. I ordered a shrimp salad, which was great. My boyfriend had the fried chicken, Mac and cheese, and sweet plantains. Plantains were good, Mac and cheese ehhh — it’s missing something but it’s decent, and the fried chicken was delicious. The saddest part, the chicken portion was so tiny, a small drumstick and another small piece of dark meat. Where’s the chicken breast?! He felt gipped but he couldn’t deny the taste. We also had cornbread which could’ve used more flavor. It was too dense. I hope these Unilocal reviews are really taken into consideration because I’m rooting for this restaurant in this up and coming area. I’ll be back and I hope I can update this review to 4⁄5 stars.

As a resident of this community where the restaurant is located, I always try to support local businesses. After my experience here now two times already, I can see why a lot of restaurants fail. You should never launch a product, until everything is ready. I tried to place my order online, the link to the online ordering system isn’t working. So, I went in for take out and tried to order the curried shrimp roti along with some other items. No greeting whatsoever. After 5 minutes of just standing there while the girl is ringing up items on the register, which she seem inundated with(take into account the place is not that busy, there are maybe 4 tables being serviced), I placed my order, no shrimp at all. Mind you this is 8pm on a Friday night. I did like the fact that they were able to replace the shrimp with salmon(and for people who don’t eat meat or poultry, options are of the essence). The food took a really long time, which I can understand for a brand new establishment, and a lady whom I assume was a manager came over and apologized. Finally get the food, no bags to put the containers in, which annoyed me, but I’ve dealt with worse. I was pleased with the food and my wife and daughter was also, and vowed that we would do to support this new place. But, after going back the following Friday, out of items again. No roti at all. So I ask about another item on the menu, which comes in two sizes(the shrimp which was able to be prepared four different ways). There are two sizes, a small which was 9 and a large which was 18. The large is the size of a regular meal at the local Goldenkrust on Pennsylvania, and that Goldenkrust is actually really good, better than any other of their restaurants I’ve been too. I hope that someone is reading these reviews. From the looks of it, a lot of people are dissatisfied.

I was trying to give this place a chance despite the bad reviews it has. It’s opening week and figured that I would like to critique it myself since it’s a new restaurant in the neighborhood. We called to confirm the times. They told us they are open until 11 pm. My husband and I get there at 9:10 pm on a Saturday night. Walk in. Just to be told that the kitchen is closed and we can sit at the bar if we’d like. Not ideal for a pregnant woman. Not ideal for anyone really. Definitely not a good first impression. Now I have to find another place to eat. Which was a hassle to begin with. Ugh.

Waited 37 minutes for nasty food!!! Mac n cheese was awful, bbq chicken was burned and the portion was very small for 15.00… Candy yams was pretty good, passion punch was good. Wouldn’t return, rather go to red lobster or lindenwood!

I don’t know why is it named soul food. My boyfriend and I went there today and ordered 3 different dishes. 1. Chicken fusion pasta, the smallest piece of what was supposed to be grilled but really was burnt chicken on top of pasta(no flavor, but a burnt taste) 2. Southern fried chicken but they” ran out” so instead we had to get roasted chicken(with Mac & cheese and cabbage) mac & cheese was disrespected I’ve never experienced eating something like that and called mac & cheese. I had to microwave it but not before adding some flavor to it. 3. Shrimp entrée(rice and peas sweet plantain) Shrimps were supposed to be jumbo however they were small, exactly 5 pieces and they smelled weird and tasted awful and sweet plantain seemed to have been done earlier in the day and refried were burnt. Everything was unpleasant to eat, basically $ 60 down the drain. Definitely over priced meals and drinks. Kids hated it including my 1 year old(he spat it out) he usually eats all his food. I will never go back to this place, and would not recommend to anyone else. We were better of going to a fast food or our favorite Footprints! I give one star because the young lady that took our order was pleasant and the business is nice inside. Owners did invest in the location, too bad they’re trash. Such disappointment and a waste of hard earned money!

I want to start this off by saying this is a brand new establishment. They opened yesterday. Don’t be so hard on them when it comes to speedy service. It WILL improve. I live only a 5 minute walk from this place. I wanted to support the neighborhoods newest business. Decided to go and grab some take out but ended up staying instead. I sat at the bar. The place is super clean. Lights are dimmed comfortably and the music is played at a respectable volume. I was helped by Khadijah. She was the super sweet bartender. She was extremely professional, very personable and joyously jubilant. She kept me informed of my order from the time I placed it and even who was going to be bringing it to me at the bar. Khadijah may just be the best bartender in all of East New York. She was a rockstar! I ordered a jerk chicken sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese. Both were pretty damn good. The service overall was really good. My meal was really good. Everyone in there has such a nice attitude and really excited about this new restaurant. It’s an air that’s inviting. If this level of friendliness and professionalism continues and grows, this may be the best carribean/soul food restaurant to dine at in Brooklyn. I will most certainly return! Great job guys! Oh, keep in mind… This is a residential area and parking will be a bit scarce. You’d find good parking in Gateway or on Flatlands and walk over.
