I ate my usual which is two coneys with everything. This was an OK coney but doesn’t compare to Leo’s, Kerby’s, or Lafayette. It was mainly the hot dogs they use here. Just a regular dog. Not a Vienna or a brand with a crunch to the skin.

Being relatively new to Michigan, I have been averse to restaurants called Coney Island. They bring hotdogs and spu to mind. This restaurant is a pleasant surprise. Their breakfast is done very well, many options on the menu including breakfast burritos, my favorite. They don’t use butter by default, so it is not greasy like many of the other breakfast places around here. The staff is quite nice and attentive. The décor is also modern and clean. They have a small case with crafts for sale by local artists. I am writing this review after my third visit and I am confident that it is consistently great. I spoke with the owner for the first time today and he has had the restaurant for the last two years. I am guessing that some of the negative reviews came before his ownership, so I hope that more people decide to review it and the rating adjusts accordingly. Do not avoid this place just because it is called Koney.

Overall solid diner food. To be honest I have been to many coney islands all over Michigan, so my I am a tough critic when it comes to anything compared to what I grew up with National in the Metro Detroit region. I ordered the chicken hani gyro and a Greek salad. To be honest it was pretty good. It wasn’t over the top delicious but it was something that satisfied my need for some good lunch food. Surprisingly the Greek salad was huge! The house chips were also very tasty, it was cut up pieces of potatoes with a bit of seasoning on top. Was it the best Coney Island food that I have ever had? No. But the service was efficient and there was no wait in the morning/lunch time.

Small place, very good food — which explains the crowd. INSANE crowd of rude college students, parents and irritated people waiting for food and/or a seat. We waited 30 minutes for a 4-top and upon being seated, were told it would be 20 – 30 for a food order, as a heads up. We were starving and didn’t know what else was in the area so we stayed. Food took an hour. The place was packed but servers could have done a better job with keeping drinks filled and checking on people. Especially hangry husbands that ran out of coffee 10 min ago and the server cannot be found. Not cool. We were friendly and understanding. The servers were scared of customers getting angry at them because of the wait. This doesn’t make for a pleasant dining experience The food was great. The crowd is not. Hopefully they intend to expand and soon.

This coney island was a hidden place my dad and I just recently went to. It is hidden right outside of campus and is not too bad to go eat at. Only thing I warn you about is that the coffee tastes horrible. But besides the coffee they give decent sized portions and my omelette I got with mushrooms and swiss cheese was really good. The interior kinda seems run down a bit, but if your looking for an affordable meal thi place can be an option.

We stumbled upon Hannah’s and everything we ordered was delicious. They serve locally roasted coffee, decent prices, but for me the winner was the gyro. Fantastic meat flavor. Juicy, robust, tasty sauce, and HOMEMADE potato chips. I shit you not. I’ll be back.

This a pleasant addition to the Hannah Plaza. They have a great breakfast selection and serve it all day. I have only ever had breakfast but my family and colleagues have had other items and they say they are good and they looked good.

The first thing I noticed when walking in was the attentiveness of the waitstaff. After seating ourselves our waiter promptly came to take our drink orders and have our son a coloring page with crayons. Now on to the food. I’ll start by saying that the servings are generous, and our waiter was very accommodating by letting us substitute our meat items with hashbrowns. I ordered the Pesto Omlette, which came with two slices of toast. I loved the fresh vegetables that were in the omlette, and the pesto on top of it was delicious. My only minor complaint is that the omlette was a little overcooked, but it was still delicious anyway. My husband enjoyed his French Toast, which was made with cinnamon bread, and came with two eggs and hashbrowns(he got the hashbrowns instead of meat). I was really impressed with the variety offered on kids breakfast platters. We got pancakes for my son, which came with an egg and hashbrowns.(I’m so used to seeing kids menus offering only pancakes or only French toast, so that’s why I was impressed.) My family and I will definitely come here again!

This place is okay at best. I have only had breakfast at this place a couple of times. It is nothing spectacular. If I had to give the breakfasts I had at this place a letter grade, it would be a solid C+. You get a good amount of food, but the price is too expensive for the quality of food. However, here’s the rub, East Lansing suffers from a massive lacking of breakfast places. The best breakfast in town is at Tony’s on Albert Ave., but that isn’t even a quality breakfast. Until, an actual high quality breakfast place rolls around Hannah Koney is going be one of those places that keeps pulling in the business.

I had a bad experience at this place. We sat down placed a very basic order and waited an hour for breakfast food. it took us 10 minutes to eat. Server kept telling us that our food was close to being ready the full hour we waited. There are better places to eat in East Lansing, I wouldn’t wast your time here.

The traditional breakfast sandwich was really good. Also their French press coffee is delicious. The server was awesome!

Average food. Strait forward menu, no surprises but that’s not why go to a Koney Island. My biggest complaint is it was dirty. Not the whole in the wall, greasy spoon dive you can’t help but love. Its the please mop me once this week and pull the broom out of the creepy closet next to the always sticky fridge and rank deep fryer. Service was good. Waitress was friendly and quick to take our order and deliver the food. Thank you… You were one of the 2 stars.

Best french toast of your life is grossly misleading. French toast full order is 3 pieces, half order is 2. Wonky mathematics. French toast was burnt and wasn’t anywhere near as good as homemade or the best I’ve had. Sausage omelet was weird. I wanted to avoid chain restaurants and Unilocal steered me wrong, man.

If you want a fresh gyro with really good fries, this is the place! Received great service and fresh food this afternoon near closing time. This is a solid Greek diner.

This is a basic Coney Island, in a the large strip mall, just east of the MSU campus. They have 20 – 25 tables, and a few bar stools. it’s a local place, not a national chain, with friendly wait staff who are helpful and interactive. We did breakfast, they have Monday thru Friday breakfast specials, plus a couple of new ones on the board as you enter. The eggs were fresh and the pancakes were better. Lots of options for food, but it’s a basic Coney Island.

Ok, this is a Coney Island style restaurant so do not expect a gourmet breakfast. That being said Hannah’s Koney Island is one of the better Coney Islands I have been too. All of their skillet breakfasts are very good.

Knew I’d give this another shot. The food is good, but had a 45 minute wait for take-out again. Came here with a co-worker this time. The waitresses were nice at least.

I’ve been to Hannah’s twice in the last month, and usually come here for breakfast or lunch a few times each semester. Before I get into a long-winded review of why Hannah’s could be one of the most poorly-managed coney joints in the state let me explain the idea of a coney joint. They should be quick. You walk in the door and they should have a sign that either directs you to seat yourself or wait to be seated. The available tables should be clean or someone should be heading over to the table to clean it. At the very least, when you sit down at a dirty table, the waitress should immediately begin to clear off the crusted hash browns and ketchup puddles left by the sorority chicks before you. Once again, the servers should be quick. Getting drink and food orders within the first few minutes would seem to make sense. And then proceeding to refill drinks when they are empty is also a sign of a restaurant sticking to the fundamentals. Food should be out to you in less than 20 minutes and someone should always make sure it’s to your liking. Hannah’s has failed me over and over again. There are no signs telling patrons to seat themselves or wait to be seated. I stood in the front with my uncle for over five minutes before someone said we could seat ourselves and yet the only tables open were dirty with empty plates and cups. It took the server another few minutes to get us menus and another few minutes on top of that for our drinks. And not once did I get a refill on my glass of water. After waiting what felt like a half hour to order, it took another half hour to make our orders. I understand attention to detail but for goodness sake, how long should it take to make a club sandwich when the restaurant is half full? The food is fine and the prices fair. They do a decent omelet and even when I asked for my hash browns to be cooked well done and put inside the omelet, no one batted an eye lash. Their Greek salads aren’t bad either which should be a given anyways… every coney should do a good Greek salad. Thing is, East Lansing doesn’t offer much in the way of coney joints, at least in terms of proximity to campus. This is as close to a Metro-Detroit coney you’ll get I’d say. And that isn’t saying much. The service is almost always bad, the servers are always disorganized, but the food’s alright. So sometimes I just have to suck it up and set aside two hours of my day when I’m craving a chicken Greek salad.

I might say 2.5, but I thought I’d be nice. I’m not going to do my standard review, but this place is not like Coney Islands you would find on the East side. It’s no Greeks, and certainly no National Coney Island, though they have similar food. The place has standard diner fare, and breakfast all day. They also have daily/dinner specials each night. Service was meh, décor meh, and overall meh. Pricey for what it is, I should’ve gone next door to Pizza House. Celebrity Rating– Joey Fatone

Hannah’s Koney Island is a great choice for breakfast, especially after a night of partying. It is much better than other East Lansing breakfast spots like Tony’s or Theo’s and is priced pretty well. I love the omelets, sandwiches, and pitas at HKI.
