One of the waitress really has a attitude problem. Besides that the foods are good

We ordered takeout from this place. Enjoyed their pot stickers very much. And liked that they had fresh veggies and a large selection of authentic dishes. The folks in the restaurant were friendly and helpful with suggestions and explanations of the unique regional Hong Kong dishes. They gave us a complimentary order of egg drop soup too. We were well fed and enjoyed it all. Recommend highly.

Ate here for the first time today with the Mid-Michigan Food Club, and while I’m pretty picky about Chinese food(it’s the first cuisine I learned to cook, and I’ve been eating the real stuff forever), this place was quite good. Being here with a large group I got to taste several different dishes. I didn’t try any of the westernized Chinese food, so I’m not sure how that is, but from the authentic stuff, the sliced beef and chiles wok(if I remembered the name correctly) was quite good, as was the jellyfish with chicken appetizer. The scallion pancake was only okay, but it seemed like it was house made. On top of all of that we hit a pretty small restaurant with a group of 12 at once and the service was still quite good, the food served quickly, and the quality excellent. It’s a little hard to find just driving by, but well worth the effort.

Had lunch there, but ordered one dish from the menu. Lunch plate of shrimp w cashews had clearly been warmed over from quite a while ago. Cashews almost soggy. Fried rice tasty. Ordered hot pot eggplant from dinner menu. V little taste, eggplant cooked to mush. Surroundngs pleasant. People pleasant. Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. Food was very delicious and fresh. Staff are wonderful and very helpful in describing each dish and with substitutions. Menu has a wide variety of selections to accommodate meat or meatless desires. Restaurant décor is very clean and minimalistic. Diners will not be disappointed.

One of the better Chinese restaurants in EL. Friendly vibe. Noodle soups, salt & pepper shrimp, eggplant hot pot are some good dishes. Fruit smoothies also good.

Legit Chinese dining in East Lansing — yummy noodle soups(pick your items), rice buckets, and juices. We had to assure the waitress we could tolerate spicy… otherwise, white folks are given absolutely no spice by default. Food was fresh and not overly greasy. This might be the best it gets for Chinese in E. Lansing… Casual, but nice interior — definitely a step up from the typical grimy/worn interiors in many E Lansing establishments

Helpful staff and delicious food. Try the fatty beef or beef with green beans. Fruit smoothies are fresh and refreshing.

I had mixed noodle. You could choose any 3 choices with your noodle. Noodle tastes light, and I like it. My frds told me better try their soup noodle, but rice or fried rice.

New restaurant, but food is the best in the whole Lansing area. Nice environment and pretty service. Try the back pages of the menus which is for Chinese, they are the best I have ever had.

All right, I know this place is new and I hate starting off on the wrong foot with places, but… come on, really? Group of two, we split a scallion pancake and a(large!) bowl of spicy fish stew.(apologies — I don’t remember the exact name of the dish! it was around $ 12.99 though) Both were unmemorable — the scallion pancake was of the slightly translucent, just-out-of-the-freezer chewy variety, and the fish stew… well. It lived up to its label of having two chili peppers next to the name, but I would suggest an improvement on thee fish and vegetables /chili oil filler ratio. (Oh, and we ordered off the Chinese menu, if that makes up for anything… my opinion is that it doesn’t) I guess what this place lacks in food quality it makes up for in the interior — I’ve seen multiple restaurants and managers come and leave from this particular place on Grand River and East Café has had the nicest interior out of them all by far. The outside could do with some fixing up — the crumbling off-white concrete is a bit sad and reminds me of Taco Bells of years past — but the interior is well-lit and inviting, and seating is more than adequate without feeling empty. I wish I could bump East Café up a star, but I really can’t say it holds a place among the«traditional» Chinese restaurants I’d consider going to in EL. Unilocal says it best — I’ve experienced better.
