Moffat’s Cup of Tea

Had a wonderful time here. Didn’t quite know what to expect but I can only imagine this is exactly how a high tea is done. Room and decorations perfect and quaint and the China was soo sweet. Food was excellent and plenty of it AND all home made. Every one at our table took left overs back.

My Aunt is in town visiting, so my mom, two aunts and I got a Groupon for four people here. Being 20 years old I didn’t think it was going to be the greatest experience, but I had a blast! This place blew my expectations out of the water. The décor was cute and quaint, there was lovely music, and the food was to die for. They served both jasmine and raspberry tea, both of which were delicious. The tomato basil bisque was the best soup I have ever had. There were lots more things to eat — scones, chocolate covered strawberries, other desserts and a variety of small sandwiches. Barb was very knowledgable about everything she was serving and so attentive to our every need. We will definitely be back. If you’re looking for a high tea place to try out, look no further!

I bought the groupon after seeing this. I’ve always wanted to come to a tea room and experience that type of atmosphere. When entering, we waited for someone to greet us. We were seated in a small room with a lovely décor. It was a sweet and beautiful place. I would make this a regular place to brunch. However, the waitress did make this review a 3 out of 5. She was quite rude and left us hanging around often. Once we finished we got up to leave, we were stopped to pay for tip and tax. She taxed us on the full value (120) and not what we paid (60). She also made it very known to leave a tip. I felt a bit unwanted and dumbed down by her. Aside from Barb, the place was a great find and hope to find another place like it to go back to.
