Waffle House #1337

Rude Rude Rude! Stood at the counter for 8 mins before anyone acknowledged me. My order was just sitting on the counter in open containers the entire time. One of the waitress had an issue with the cooks as she kept on rolling her eyes when she spoke to them.

Staff is super friendly and fast, but I think there must be a corporate policy that they smoke. Every time I drive by or pull into their lot there is at least one staffer smoking at the back door, which is littered with cigarettes. This morning I saw one of them picking their nose while smoking and wipe it on her shirt. Ewww…

Not happy with the customer service or phone etiquette. It’s nearly 830 on a Sunday night! I called and the woman asked me to hold which I did… She said bye to a few people then left the phone! I herd the other employees doing stuff and she I guess forgot about me… So I hung up and tried to call back for 10 mins now and apparently Waffle House doesn’t have car waiting. Arby’s here I come…

I wasn’t please with this location at all. My pork chops were not seasoned & had no taste. My cousin ordered an omelet & received scrambled eggs with ham mixed in. We didn’t order during a busy time of the day. Remember to check your order before you leave!

First visit to a Waffle House for me, and at 1am. I hear it’s one of the most cleanly kept locations according to a friend that lives locally. It was very well kept. Our server was very polite and tended to us quickly. Food was prepared well and tasted great. Overall a great first experience for me. Would visit again

This is about the best Waffle House in this area. I have been to them all and had mediocre service at best, until I came to this location. The staff here is always friendly, the food is always hot and served up quickly. Stop wasting your time and make this your Waffle House of choice when you’re in the Duluth area

All Waffle Houses pretty much have the same quality of food. Which is pretty decent and good. I LOVE the waffles and biscuits, so the issue was not the food. My issue was the lack of hygienic awareness by the servers. I watched an older woman hack several times as she walked pass the stoves while food is cooking WITHOUT covering her mouth. I could have vomited. Our waitress was lazy and sat down the whole time we were there except to write down and submit our order. I’m staying within walking distance of this Waffle House and would rather jump in my car and drive 3 miles to dine at a different location.

As far as Waffle Houses go, this one is A-​OK. I come here for breakfast about once a week for my fix of scrambled eggs and raisin toast with apple butter. The service here is usually spot on. The restaurant is certainly one of the cleaner Waffle Houses around. All in all, not bad.

I am aware that writing a review for a ubiquitous restaurant chain is annoying like: (1) writing a review for IHOP, (2) peanut butter stuck to the roof of your mouth, (3) being the poster child for a Pepto Bismol commercial while you’re stuck in traffic or (4) seeing an already wealthy tycoon winning the state lottery jackpot, but as a New Yorker it was too hard to resist.
As I entered this morning, I stood around for a second because I wasn’t sure if I should seat myself until this woman came over to me and grabbed my arm: «Oh my, you’re so handsome! Would you like to sit in a booth? Let me clean this up for you. It’ll be just a minute.»
I enjoy colorful hyperbole but I’m not kidding. I had no choice but to giggle like a prepubescent girl at a Jonas Brothers concert. I wondered if she was under the influence or if the new moisturizer my wife bought me was working.
I sat down and ordered the «All Star Special» which was two eggs (I asked for scrambled), sausage patties, buttered grits, buttered toast and a waffle. I asked for a side of hash browns which were delicious unlike crappy home fries usual diners serve. Everything was great, except for the sausage patties (I prefer links and the patties were scrapple-​like) and the waffle (I prefer it to be brown and crispy like a wafer). The coffee refills came so quickly with an omnipresent vigilance; I could never finish a half a cup until my waitress was back to refill it. This was great as my coffee was always hot.
This Waffle House is in a small strip mall and has a somewhat boring, stereotypical diner décor with the yellow and black tile on the walls. I am willing to overlook this for good food and service.
In retrospect if I closed my eyes and listened to the Southern accents, I would feel uncomfortable in a «Dukes of Hazard» episode. Still the service was friendly and fast, and the food was fresh, making it a very enjoyable dining experience.
Oh yeah, I left a 50% tip just for the «handsome» comment. It made me feel better since she did not say the same spiel to the other male patrons who came in after me.
Open 24 – 7? I may have to return before I return home to NY.
