Hertz Rent A Car

This location is not closed but probably should be. Terrible service from the employees. They did not communicate what was going on. Initially they told me they didn’t have any cars then told me they lost the keys to the car after about 30 – 40 minutes of waiting. There’s another location about 10 minutes away that has better customer service and is much more efficient. I wound up cancelling the rental because I had to go to work. Very inconvenient.

Good service. Make sure the car is filled up as sometimes they give it to half filled, and hard to get it at the level they gave it to you at.
Got the car I wanted, clean inside but could have been washed on the outside.

Rented a car here for the holidays weeks in advance. We were driving down to Miami with our small dogs and returning 11 days later. It was close to $ 500 because the holiday season is crazy when it comes to car rentals.
Upon arriving for pick up, there were lots of people there but the gentleman on the counter was quite nice (hence the two stars). It was raining hardcore so someone pulled my rental up and I got in it. I wanted to complain because it was not a Ford Focus, but instead, a Yaris, but it was raining as mentioned and I just wanted to get back to work.
The Yaris was filthy inside, there was hardly any trunk space, it had no power locks or power mirrors. I literally had to push the mirrors with my hands to adjust them and was surprised we didn’t have to Flintsone ourselves to Miami. I called the 800 number and they told me that the Yaris was not an economy car but instead, a compact car. They then suggested I call the local Hertz where I rented the car from and they would change it for me. I called them and the lady on the phone told me a Yaris was indeed an economy car and the equivalent to a Ford Focus. Ummm, not it’s not. After I asked for some sort of refund at least, she gave me a very kind $ 15.00 off for my troubles and sent me off on my merry way.
Two words for this whole experience with Hertz: NEVER AGAIN.

My experience with the company was terrible! The employees were decent, not super friendly, but they did their jobs. I went in at 5:24 (six minutes before closing), and was told that despite my reservation preference there was only one car left. Not only was it tiny, but it was covered with dings and dents. Initially the cosmetic issues weren’t a big deal for me, but after discovering all the other issues I was very upset.
There was a terrible smell of something burning inside the car, which was even worse when I put the window down. The «maintenance required» light was flashing on and off, and the car was running bad, shaking/​vibrating as if it was going to break down. On top of all of this it was FILTHY inside! The little squares on the gear shift were packed full of dirt and gunk. The seats bad white stains on them. The windshield was covered in stains and had a thick dark substance that looked like it had been in for months.
When I called in to speak to the acting manager (Mike), he was nonchalant about the whole thing. After spending over an hour on the phone with him he was unable to offer any advice or to reach any type of resolution. He suggested that I drive down to the airport location so that they could switch the car out for me at no charge. When I called the airport, they said that there were no more cars available. I later found out that was not the case, but I still ended up driving for over an hour to the airport only to leave with the same car.
At this point I was tired, frustrated and 2 hours behind schedule. Long story short: I ended up taking the car to Pep Boys to insure it was safe to take a long drive. Luckily there were no issues, so I was able to drive it to my destination. I could not relax because I was SO uncomfortable with how nasty the cars ‘s interior was. I have never experienced anything like this with a rental car company. I will tell everyone I know about how horrible this company is and I will NEVER do business with Hertz ever again.

After reading the reviews on Unilocal,I was hesitant to go to this location. However, when I got there it was an overall pleasant experience. The two customer service representatives were extremely nice and helpful. Coming from a really bad experience with Enterprise, they were a breathe of fresh air. They were patient with me when the insurance company messed up the reservation originally set. My rep allowed me to try out multiple cars to find what was near comfortable. He made sure the inside was vacuumed. I have no bad to say.

After a long day, flying with a two year old and a ten month old, I had gotten to my parent’s house, then my dad took me to hertz and found my drivers license was back at the house. I was so frustrated and overwhelmed. They were sympathetic, but firm, had to have the license. I get back in the car with my dad, went back, got the license, went BACK to hertz.
By this time, my kids are exhausted and hungry. They are even refusing the fruit roll ups I never let them have, and keep as bribes for just such occasions. My two year old stays with my dad in the car and I took the baby in, but it became apparent, fast, that she was going to need to nurse or all hell was to pay.
This brings me to Demetrius. He was helping me after I got back, and as he ran out to check the rental better I finished signing the paperwork, I tried to soothe my baby and it wasn’t working. Finally, I just nursed her. I’m not really the type of personl who does that in public, just my personal preference, but I was embarrassed. I apologized to Demetrius, and looked at me and said in full sincerity, «You’re a mother… You’re a mother.»
It was beautiful, and touched my heart deeply. Thank you. That was not just great customer service. It was excellent human serviceservice. Demetrius, thank you.

AVOID RESERVING A CAR HERE. THEY DO NOT HONOR RESERVATIONS AND STATE THEIR RESERVATION SYSTEM IS NOT TIED TO INVENTORY
I paid in full on line for a rental only to be told they did not have a vehicle when I arrived. I requested a refund and am currently fighting with HERTZ who only refunded a portion of my payment. This is after the inconvenience of not honoring their reservation.

I had called this location to reserve a compact car a week and a half before the reservation date. I called the morning of my rental pick-​up to confirm and they had no record of it! They asked me for a confirmation # but never gave me one.
I called them back about 20 min later to see if they had a compact, they said they had a Fiat 500 (something my wife wanted to try).
When we showed up, they sold us a limited insurance which was $ 9/​day. As I signed, he told me it had less than a quarter tank then went to go get the car… but it wasn’t there and wouldn’t be back for 3 days?! The receipt showed the insurance was $ 22/​day!
Needless to say, we decided to leave without a rental & THAT was our best move!

I eventually talked to a District Manager and he was kind and courteous. However, to this day I have never received an itemized bill. I was charged but never told what the breakdown of the charges were. The funny thing is I was told I would not be charged my portion of the rental rate if their incompetent staff had not charged me yet. Taking my money was the ONLY thing these people did timely!

I think i can write two reviews because the women in front of me in line also had a horrible, probably even more so than i did but i start with what happened to me. I got a vehicle easy but than there is that ripoff that your insurance company will cover a full size but all hertz’s full size vehicles cost more than whatever your insurance company will pay so you have to come out of pocket. The ‘manager’ according to what he told the lady in front of me told me that the a Kia Otima was clean, gas full, and ready to go. It was not. It was excessively dirty, half tank, and an under inflated tire. The lady in front of me waited for over an hour to be picked up from her repair center. They never showed up even she arranged it three days prior. She also had specific needs that had to be for her vehicle but they just tried to throw here in any.

Recommend by my repair shop. When we arrive, they only had 3 cars with over 20k miles on them to choose from. I did not rent and opt to choose another location nearby to rent.

This hertz location is awesome! They accommodated my rental when I could not use a 5 seater. Bassey Inameti is fabulous. Great customer service very polite and professional. This may my permanent rental location. Side note I had to use more points so this was note for free… but they made it happen and I am one happy customer.
