I went here a few days ago with a close friend and I have to say it was a significantly better experience than the first one. I wasn’t rushed and I ordered a different drink: the Rambling Rose latte. If you don’t like strong floral scents, don’t choose this one. I thought it was different and pleasing. The staff was accomodating and even provided me with a latte art heart in my drink. My friend got a chai tea latte with soy milk and it tasted better than Starbucks. I will definitely be coming back soon.

Great service and had some fabulous tea! The scones were delicious. Love the atmosphere! Snuggled up on the couch on a rainy day and enjoyed a relaxing break from reality.

Love the coffee here! It has so much more flavor than Starbucks. Stopped here for coffee one morning and got a bunch of little sweets — all super delicious. The staff has always been super friendly to my boyfriend and I. Could be a little more seating during busy times! Ask for the punch card!

It was a beautiful day walking around Doylestown. Stopped in for my iced coffee check in offer. They were really welcoming, said they could make whatever flavor I chose. I decided on peppermint mocha. Nice little afternoon treat. They had live holiday music. Just a nice place. I had a tea latte there in the past. Definitely a stop when I’m in Doylestown.

I do not go here as often as I wish I did because this place is amazing if you are looking to support a local coffee shop instead of your typical Starbucks. The employees here are very nice and I have never had to wait too long for my drink. The ambiance is very nice and relaxing. I love the chai lattes here, they are so much better than other big chain coffee places.

The Zen Den is a great place to get some work done and enjoy a nice cup of brew! The staff is incredibly friendly, but not in your face like some caffeined up baristas can be elsewhere haha! If you get a latte they will do an awesome design… I’ve gotten a cat, hearts, and positive words designed in mine! I will post a picture or two. Also, their fruit smoothies are the best! Whether you want sweet or earthy tastes, they have it all. The setting is so relaxing and calm. I love the décor!

Such a cozy place! Coffee is okay, staff is welcoming, kind and lated-back, by the vibe is the best — copy couches to sit on, tables to play chess or work at, and sometimes live music! I love sitting in every place of this coffee shop.

In a world of milkshakes being passed over as coffee(i.e. Starbucks), this place is a true coffee house. Lots of choices and a great ambiance.

I recently read a negative comment, I would caution making such comments when what is being commented on is being observed out of context. I spend a considerable amount of time at the Zen Den. It has been my observation and experience that the staff and owner are very pleasant to everyone who walks into the establishment. They take time to get to know the«regulars,» and will joke around with them. I have not ever observed or experienced rudeness, and would put forth the«rudeness» that was observed was not rudeness but kidding around among friends.

The place isn’t quite the hip, cool place it’s hyped up to be. I saw the owner on more than one occasion become downright rude and disrespectful to a customer. And it’s never cool inside during the warm months. Save yourself from giving money to a mean business owner who doesn’t know how to treat customers properly. Chose Starbucks over this one.

Met here this morning to have a good relaxed discussion with a potential new hire. Atmosphere was great, comfortable, space between where everyone was sitting, very comfortable — homey vs store like feeling and the Latte was great. If it wasn’t for the one customer taking a conference call speaking as if she felt they couldn’t hear her all would have been perfect but that isn’t the Zen Dens problem that was poor upbringing… From a customer service standpoint, the staff took the time to ask those in the shop if the temperature was good. They must have had a reason to ask and it was fine. Parking was easy right out front at 9:00AM, and $ 0.25/Hour! Cheap! Thanks Zen Den I’ll be back.

My favorite coffee shop in town! cute. Nice staff. They had a guy working there awhile back that was very rude and made me not want to go there for a bit. But he’s gone and the place is better than ever. So if you had a bad experience in the past, do yourself the favor and give them another try. I love it there.

Every time I’m in Doylestown I want to make a stop at zen den. Very cute place and so many flavors of lattes. Also have had some decent baked goods from here. They have great music nights and they also have board games like battleship at the ready for your enjoyment.

Quiet, tucked away, cozy, and has some decent espresso. I’m impressed by home much natural light they’ve got without huge, street-side windows. The staff are friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely be back to share this place with friends and jam on some work when I’m in town.

Zen Den Coffee Shop is sort of an alley operation, running out of a back door on the narrow Donaldson Street, between Oakland and State Streets, in Doylestown. I first discovered it a few months ago when visiting my attorney who also has a rear entrance backing onto the semi-hidden shops in between the main streets and small pocket parking lots. Finally stopped in yesterday to grab some Joe and have a look. First impression was that the space is much larger than anticipated. The floor plan is spread out in two rooms, with many comfortable spots to settle in on a sofa, or work at a table. There is even room for a piano in the middle of the main room. The work space is in a corner by the entrance, which might be a problem if crowded, but when I arrived shortly after 11, there was only one person ahead of me on line. I liked the vibe with all the natural colors and clubby furniture. The southern orientation allowed sunlight to filter in softly in winter, creating a warm glowing ambiance. I got the«Zen» reference, but doubted there would be much opportunity to meditate or chant there. Caffeine takes people in another direction. I went with a Café Au Lait and Blueberry Muffin for my first try. The price was under $ 5, so I immediately thought it compared favorably to the Star$$$ of the world, where the same would have been a few bucks more. The taste of the coffee was okay, but nothing special. Likewise, the muffin while fresh, had a commercial bakery quality to it. Certainly edible, but lacking a spark of organic energy. I will return to obtain a more representative sampling of the goods @ ZD, but at first blush, it seems a nice place for coffee and conversation, but not necessarily the first place I would think of for outstanding coffee. Nonna’s is the place to go for that.

Too loungy for me. Hot inside. Barista shorted my drink by an inch and a half and the lady told me «the foam went down.» Actually no, I was a barista and managed a café in a former life. The correct answer is, «Oh, my apologies, let me fix that for you.» I think the place is too yin for me overall. Can’t see out. It’s all nooky and shady in here. The tables are tiny, good for one person with work or two just chatting. One big couch with a rough little table in front of it; that’s where I sat. Tny little place. Pleasant enough but just not my thing. I like more space and a proper table. I see they have a cute stage and a nice sounding house system. Good place for a tiny gig. Local art on the walls, pretty wood floors, but nothing discernibly Japanese or Buddhist about it if you’re looking for that sort of Zen. The coffee was fine. I was happy there were so many milk choices and delighted to find almond milk. Jury’s out as to whether I’ll give this place another shot.
