When I first walked in there was no one at the front desk so I proceeded to ring the bell. after ringing and waiting and ringing and waiting I contemplated canceling my reservation because there were other options very close by! Finally someone came out the back door and checked me in. But someone not being out front had already put a sour taste in my mouth. First impression is everything right? The rooms were fine. Clean sheets. Clean bathroom bathtub was a little rusty around the hardware. I didn’t bother staying for the continental breakfast because like I said I was already sour! But now I know when I go visit kings dominion and stay over night… I will stay elsewhere. Something about the front desk attendant… which was most likely the owner I just didn’t appreciate.

Second time staying here since it was one of the few pet friendly motels. Directly across the street from Kings Dominion with shopping and restaurants one exit south. New TVs with satellite. Oh yeah, there is a freight track directly behind the motel but it didn’t bother me because I’m a fellow railroader.

Unbelievable«stale cigarette smoke, roach, nasty floors, hairs»!! A roach was crawling up the wall in the bathroom! Food debris under the tv stand and on the floor near the beds. Guess why the roach was here! Carpet was filthy. Room was reeking of cigarette smoke, thank god I had my bath and body works air freshner! Came back a few hours later and the room smelt stale all over again. Definitely was convenient for kings dominion bc of the free shuttle and needing a place to stay, def not sleep! The room condition didn’t even deserve! I would not even it a star, next time will drive the hell home!

The hotel room smelled like Cigarette TARANDASH. The swimming pool had no working lights in the pool after dark and one of the above ground lights in the pool area was burnt out. The carpet in the room looked badly damaged in one section and was due for a replacement. The TVSCREEN had smudges all over it. In the bathroom there was a nice sign spelling out the consequences if people steal towels, pillows, washcloths, and blankets. The pillows used on the bed were very uncomfortable and caused me neck pain. They appeared to be the cheap kind of pillows one would find in a MOTEL6. They were not ideally shaped for comfort and appeared to have been been WORNOUT. The front DESK was not staffed properly during most of my stay. Most of the time I didn’t see anyone there at the front desk. The hotel is next to a FREIGHTRAILROADTRACK and my room shook every time a train went by. The hotel is next to kings dominion and has a shuttle that runs to and from the park which is the only redeeming quality. Stayed July 2014, traveled solo

I haven’t even stayed here yet and I’m dreading it. I booked through Priceline and was told that if I wanted to request a certain bed or non-smoking to contact hotel directly. Upon doing so I was told that it was not possible. The reservationist went to talk to the manager who thought I was on hold and was not, I could hear him. It told her not to help me because it’s through Priceline and he’s losing $$. He then got on the phone and, I told him I heard what he said and he said I can’t help you good bye. I contacted Priceline who called back and got him to agree to 2 dbl beds at an extra fee. I’m traveling with 2 adults and 2 children! This is the worst customer service ever! I want my money back but even Priceline can’t help. What a rip off. Day’s Inn should be ashamed to have people like that working for them, let alone a manager!

this was not a very nice place to stay, the carpeting was dirty, stains on the walls, and it smelled musty in different areas. the beds were somewhat comfortable, however the pillows could of used some care and kindness. one thing that was a plus was that the park we were visiting was right across the street, however the park wasn’t running shuttles and it was a rather long walk…

Eww, for a couple dollars more stay at the other two hotels! Hallway was dirty stained carpet that wreaked a smoke. Our NON smoking room Smelled like smoke in the morning when we got up. Place is old and dated. Breakfast area was tiny, not a great breakfast selection like the other two next door. Craphole!

I stayed here last year after spending a day at King’s Dominion which is across the street. Normally I am reluctant at staying at Days Inns due to past experiences but I decided I was going to be dead tired from a day at the park so all I wanted was a bed to sleep on. This inn surprised me. It looked like it was almost new. While most hotel rooms seem dark, this one was quiet bright with brightly painted walls and furniture. Everything seemed to be environmentally conscious here as well. Like most inns of this type the breakfast was a little lacking. The only thing I remember is the mini muffins but I’m not a big breakfast eater anyway. The other downfall is there aren’t many restaurants in the area. I had to drive down to Ashland to find a decent restaurant.
