LONG wait time to receive your food. My table, a party of 8(6 kids, 2 adults) did not receive our drinks, milkshakes, or water until the end of our meals. My French toast and eggs were cold, chicken tenders were fried to hard to bite, and the food was delivered in pieces. It’s a convenient location to Kings Dominion but has awful customer service! The staff will greet you with a «hello», yet they lack the execution of restaurant service skills. Management should be addressed. Awful!

Well as frequent kings dominion visitors dennys was always our place to go after for an inexpensive yet yummy meal — until now. The lady that sat us in our seats smelled like a ciggarette & then my meal, my fiances meal, and my toddlers drink had hair in them. I am never one to complain or send back food but hair in all 3. Lets get real. Then as we were leaving like every single one of their employees were out front smoking — I only pray they wash their hands for the customers that were still in there. Guess we will be finding a new place to dine.

I ordered a salad with chicken, dried cranberries, sliced apples and candied nuts with balsamic dressing. It was incredibly tasty and the portion was generous. We went out to eat at 8:30 p.m. The food arrived quickly. Our waitress was accommodating. All four of us enjoyed our meals and each of us ordered something different. No complaints.

Tried to eat at this Denny’s before going to Kings Dominion last summer. After being seated, was promptly ignored for 20 minutes. We ended up walking out and going to Burger King nearby. I don’t think I will be going back to this Denny’s, however, the Burger King wasn’t exactly gourmet dining either.

Oh my god, the service in this place sucks. We just finished up halloween at King’s Dominion and we wanted to get some food before making the long drive home. Cut to 2 hours later, half of the people didn’t what they ordered, and what was ordered was not prepared correctly, a lot of people in my group were getting upset. Add to this the lackadaisical staff, everything is in place for a complete disaster, the quick meal we had planned turned into 2 hour wait for crappy food assuming what we order actually arrived. When people end up leaving a restaurant hungrier than when they showed up, there is something seriously wrong here.

First of all it’s hard to find, down an access road. Next the service, really didn’t get much. They forgot to put the soup in the microwave therefore they brought it at the ends of the meal. Finally the food, well the corn was tasty. Say maybe being hard to find wasn’t such a bad thing. All in all, I should have gone to the 7 – 11 and gotten dinner there, at least I would have known it was going to be crappy upfront.

So thankful to Denny’s and their staff! I’m a teacher of 5th grade and we were on our way back to NC from DC. One of our two buses broke down up the highway and the generous staff allowed us(108 people, 70 of which were 5th graders) crash the banquet room until our replacement bus could arrive. We arrived around 9pm and didn’t leave until after 12:30am. The staff was very gracious and helpful. Thanks!

The scrambled eggs tasted like powdered eggs, breakfast comes in bits and pieces, and everything is swimming in butter. Skip this place and go to the Waffle House at exit 92. At least everything there is fresh and cooked to order.

We enjoy Dennys. This is not your normal one. It took longer than normal to receive our meals. Other tables had complaints and I heard the staff making apologies. Big box of orange crayons for the kids. Where are the other colors? Just doesn’t seem to be well run.

Completely untrained inexperienced staff. I was staying at the attached Best Western hotel(total crap-hole) and ordered dinner by phone. The guy taking my order had no idea what he was doing because he was asking the person next to him every step of the way. I ordered 2 salads for the adults and 2 burgers for the kids. They called to say our order was ready, so my husband went down to pick it up. There was only one burger — not surprising because of the inexperienced person putting in our order. So my husband orders the second burger, pays, waits… brings the 2 bags of takeout containers back to our room… NOSECONDBURGER. what the hell? what were they doing that whole time? and for $ 10 each, the salads we got were pitiful. barely a handful of greens, it looked like they split a serving of chicken between the 2. totally unacceptable. So that’s when I went down. I brought the food back, explained what happened and asked for a refund. A woman, who I assume was a manager, was the only one who seemed to have a clue. She asked if we would allow them to remake our order if she gave me a refund because she didn’t want to send us away hungry. I figure what the hell– if it’s free I can just throw it out if its inedible, what’s another 15 minutes at this point? She sent the guy at the cash register to make our salads even when he said he didn’t know how. She told him to ask another employee for help. I can only hope he washed his hands first… I don’t even want to think about it. In the end the food was ok, but because of the inexperienced staff and complete bungling of a simple order, I can easily say I would never go there again.

Worst Denny’s ever and that’s saying something. Runny eggs I can handle but I’d like the whites to be done at least. Especially at a place known for breakfast– come on. Waitress didn’t write down our order, had to come back to verify AND surprise, surprise it arrived incorrect. Just skip this place and drive an extra 5 minutes to the soul food place down the road which is great.

The worst place you can eat breakfast. We went this morning and it took 40 mins for us to get all of our food. We sat down at 9:00 didn’t see s waitress for 10 mins placed order got drinks no straws waited 15 mins for her to come back and all she had was my food a breakfast skillet. Had to ask for straws then she filed up coffee(cold) then my family waited another 20 mins for there food to come out. Food was ok at best bet really who can screw up breakfast food oh wait Denny’s did. Come out and my Hearty Breakfast was wrong the didn’t have the sausage link(They ran out at 9:00am) and no one told me until they brought it out. I cant blame the waitress maybe unstaffed for a cheerleading competition weekend but it was not good.

Worst service ever. Ticket time was an hour and the waitress was terrible. The management is terrible. It took 20 minutes to get water. I will never be here again.

Ok. You spent the day at KD and you are tired and staving. You feel like a sit-down restaurant with table service and the nearest thing is probably another 5 – 10 miles away off of I-95 — This Denny’s will suite your purpose, so don’t expect a 5-star dining experience(It’s part of the Best Western hotel for crying out loud). The food is ok, the prices are very reasonable and the service was good. We have had a chance to dine here two times after a day at KD and would dine here again(if in the mood for Denny’s food). Being vegetarians, there is not much of a selection of food to eat at KD’s, so this is a good alternative to paying too much for basically nothing inside the park. BTW — This restaurant is walkable from the park, with a full Denny’s menu, so it is also an alternative to eating inside the park or packing a picnic meal to eat in the parking lot. Also; I believe that the there is a lounge connected to this restaurant, so they do offer beer, wine and mixed drinks if you want an adult beverage with your meal.

Probably the worst Denny’s I have ever been to. First, waited forever to get drinks and we ordered four waters, a cup of coffee, lemonade and a smoothie. Unfortunately for us, only one cup of coffee and water and the lemonade made it to the table. One of our breakfast orders didn’t come as ordered and one didn’t come at all. This is the only option around the park but much better options are only 7-miles away. Will never eat here again, ever.

Eat before leaving the park! With no other option the kitchen could care less. Having waited an hour for my meal only to be told that there is no egg burrito in the kitchen clearly shows that this Denny’s knows you have no other choice after leaving the park at 8:30 at night. No one cares and no one offers to help. Pass, if you can.

When you are away from home and go to a chain restaurant, it is not because you like the food, it’s because you want a known quantity rather than risking an unknown disaster. In this respect, this Denny’s failed miserably. One problem was that 3 of the 8 serving staff did not show up for work this day. However, this does not explain the other issues. This Denny’s has a bar attached. I ordered a Margarita which took forever to come after I was asked first by the waitress, and then by the bartender if I wanted salt. The drink tasted like slightly flavored water. Later the bartender came by and asked how the drink was. I explained it lacked taste and tequila. She explained that it was made from a mix and offered to make me one from scratch. I accepted her offer and the second one was rather good. Why couldn’t they have done it right the first time? It took forever to get seated and forever to get our food. Caesar salad was good. I ordered a steak(rare) with mac & cheese and cheesy mashed potatos. Both sides were just a little above room temperatre. The mac & chese looked just like the Kraft stuff that comes in a cardboard box at the supermarket. The difference is that the Kraft M&C tastes 10 times better. The mashed potatos with a bit of cheese glopped over the top were equally inedible. None of my steak was rare. Half was medium and half was medium rare. Our waitress did a great job under the circumstances.

Right next to Kings Dominion, this Denny’s straight up sucks. I decided to spend the night with friends at the LaQuinta across the street in order to get 2 days at KD. We slept too late and missed the hotel breakfast so we decided to come here. It was pretty craptastic all around, both food and service. I ordered bacon filled pancakes with 2 eggs on the side, over medium. The pancakes tasted nasty and the bacon inside of them was just burnt little pieces. The eggs were extremely runny. Our servers meant well but there was definitely a language barrier. They were really poorly trained. Drinks took longer than they should. Food was brought out one item at a time. Refills took forever. My advice to anyone visiting KD is to eat either before you head to the park, or while in the park itself. Not that the food in the park is all that good, but it’s still leaps and bounds above what this craphole has to offer. One pro is that the whole thing is made to look like a nature lodge. That was kind of cool.
