I visited this little shop last week. It was a beautiful day, the door to shop propped open to enjoy the lovely breeze and fall day. This little shop is right next to Taqueria Lupitas, which brought me in that day. After parking walking toward restaurant, I spotted some of the cutest leather purses in the window, I have a total purse fetish so I had to stop in. There were three or four purses that really caught my eye. I went and had lunch at Lupitas, but couldn’t get those purses out of my mind; so after lunch I stopped back in and yep had to get one. The prices a bit high but the quality and craftmanship of the purse is very good. This little shop is filled with all kinds of mexican nick nacks, candles, sombreros, blankets, clothing, cowboy boots and this and that. If in area check it out, you might find something you can’t live without as well.

This is one of the best places to shop in the city! Full of unique and authentic housewares from Mexico. It is laid out well, and quite spacious. You can find traditional Mexican folk art(crosses, Punched tin hearts, mirrors, etc., sun and moon ceramics, paper flowers, corn husk dolls, and cartoneria) as well as clothing, and cowboy boots. You can also get your typical tourist kitsch sombreros and flags. The prices are quite reasonable and almost every product is made in Mexico, not overseas. If you stop by make sure to check out the large selections of blankets in the back.

What a great little shop! I ended up buying a nativity scene in side a cactus.(I was there right before the holidays). But great hand crafted Latin themed items. I am going back this spring to pick up a cowboy hat!

I haven’t been in this place in a while, so this review is partly based on nostalgia. Xochi’s is located next door to Lupita’s. It carries all sorts of interesting different Mexican products, making it a great place to bring your friends after a meal at the taquerias, so they can have something Mexican to bring home with them, other than what’s in their stomachs. I remember first coming here when I was in high school. Every year our Spanish class would take a field trip to Los Galanes. After we were done eating, we could all roam the neighborhoods until it was time to get back on the bus. In addition to La Gloria bakery, checking out the goods at Xochi’s was always a favorite stop for everyone.
