Going to the airport can sometimes be a frustrating experience; it’s good having places like this where you can relax a bit, get a bite to eat, and look over the plans for your trip. Most airport locations are counters where you grab and go, but I love the casual dining spot. This«bistro» is def overselling itself with the name, but it’s far better than the other offerings. They’ve got cookies, sandwiches, and some hot entrees. None of it looks great. The hot entrees look sad, the cookies look stale, and the sandwiches — well they look the best of all the stuff here. I got a tuna sandwich, a bag of chips, and a fountain drink. Good prices for an airport. The tuna sandwich was surprisingly decent and better than I would have gotten at subway. The roll it was on was slightly sweet which was unexpected in a good way. This place has your usual snacks, food, and drinks. Decent prices for an airport and you can sit down. No outlets that I could find though. 4-stars for being the best in area.

Even for the captive traveler you are better off skipping a meal than experiencing this bistro’s «food.» Their breakfast sandwich is a sad scoop of powered eggs slopped onto a bagel. Their dark roast coffee, which is .50 cents extra is equally as dreadful as a free burned cup you might receive at a budget hotel. High prices are expected at the airport but this place is nothing more than a dissatisfying rip off.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Short of being(what could be) a cool breakfast spot for travelers on the go, it is definitely not because of the rude workers. We arrived at 4:45am for a quick bite and after we ordered our breakfast burrito and the lady told us it would be ATLEAST20 mins and stressed the«ATLEAST» with what seemed like her throwing it in our face, we wait 30 mins and find that all of the eggs, sausage, and hash browns had been brought out but she just forgot to make our burrito. The icing on the cake, the burrito was gross. Go someplace else if you have the option.

I made the mistake of stopping in at this«bistro» without first checking the Unilocal reviews. I got one of their«feature sandwiches». It was a small turkey sandwich on what turned out to be a very sweet roll. The price was semi-reasonable by airport standards($ 8.99, I think), but the sandwich was more of a snack than a meal, and it wasn’t very good.(That’s an old joke: «The food is bad and they don’t give you enough of it.») Meh, indeed.

$ 14 breakfast platter for powder eggs, burnt sausage, and hash browns swimming in grease. You’re better off hungry.

Agonizingly slow, even at 5:30 am. Pre-made sandwiches stacked high in display cases like corpses stacked in a morgue. Salad with lettuce picked during the Nixon administration(see photo.) Mess of receipts and napkins on the counter by the register as a last insult(see photo.) But wait — one more — be prepared to show ID if paying with a card. They want to make damn sure you’re not fraudulently running off with any of their antiquities.

When you fly out at 6am on Monday there is not alot of food options at the airport. Thankfully Le Petit Bistro was open and right out the security gate. Teh line was long but I had plenty of time. I was afraid when I saw on my Unilocal app that this was a 2 star, however I ventured forward, too lazy to walk up and down the concourse at such an early hour. The staff was extremely cheerful. Especially for how early it was– you never get great service at the airport and this is Detroit! I got the California sandwich and it was fantastic. It is served on a pretzel bun with avocado and lots of meat. I also saw they had oatmeal and yogurts and fruit. It was not cheap, but nothing at the airport is. I would def come back and think they should be commended for their great service and efficiency!

This place is expensive, as my almond bearclaw and tea breakfast somehow amounted to more than $ 7. The same thing happened to me as to a previous reviewer too: when asked if I wanted my pastry warmed, I thought why not? so said sure. But then the worker totally nuked it in the microwave! It came out steaming hot and limp. Although it didn’t taste bad, there was no crunchy or flaky pastry factor to be had. So, don’t acquiesce to getting your pastry reheated if you like texture, or request if they can toast it in an oven instead. For some reason the cashier pretty much asked everyone for their ID in addition to their credit/debit card when paying, too.

Wish I could give this place a negative 5 stars. Just tried to buy a $ 3.20 cup of coffee, the signature on my credit card was half gone so they asked for my id. I explained that I had just gotten married so my drivers license would not match but my passport would. I got denied=no coffee for me. Lets see, I was able to get through airport security, rent a car, stay in a hotel but not buy coffee. The people who work there are EXTREMELYINCOMPETENT and RUDE

Expensive even by airport standards. Breakfast eggs were dry and had little evidence of cheese. Skip this place.

Meh, not so fresh baked goods, a cheerful and young counter staff offered to warm up the«bear claw» pastry for me, which looked to have a texture between a danish and croissant, and filled with almond paste. Had I known she was going to throw this flaky pastry into a microwave, I would have said«no, thank you». A dreadful«ding» later, I was presented with a soggy and limpy pile of dough on a plate. The young server still looked cheerful and clueless, I didn’t have the heart to tell her or reject the damaged goods. Sigh. They offer two types of drip coffee, no espresso machine. When asked about the difference between«premium» coffee and the«regular» coffee, I was told the«premium» is stronger. Really? Does this place offer any training to their staff?

Expensive. Yes its the airport, but thirteen bucks for a turkey croissant, a scoop of fruit salad and a water is highway damn robbery. The food was edible and filling, the turkey croissant was bland but the fruit salad was fresh and delightful for winter in Detroit. Great for my blood sugar downward spiral on the way to my gate. Staff was cheerful and helpful(kind of bizarre for before 7 am really), pointing out that adding fruit salad was a decent option and giving me a clear price comparison. In a pinch I can deal, my cheap little heart is still sad though.
