New Dragon Chinese Restaurant

We dined here on our visit back to Destin because it was so good during our last visit. Not so this time. Food was cold (wonder if it is a possible health violation) and not very appetizing. Both husband and daughter had stomach aches later (and not because they over indulged.) Crab rolls and steamed rice were the only selections I was comfortable eating. Had to ask for drink refills. Definite decline in food quality and service. Won’t go there again…

We stopped here for dinner on the way to our room. Not many people there and we almost left. But being the adventures that we are and twisting my friends arm. We read the reviews here on Unilocal and went in. The place is old, the food was old, the chicken at the grill area was gray. Not a place we will ever return. Beware!

It’s just your average, middle of the road Chinese buffet. The only noteworthy item was the potstickers, while everything else kinda tasted the same. But amazingly this place has its own little Mongolian type grill where you can make you own dish and that’s the redeeming feature. If you’re smart about it, you can eke out a somewhat passable tasting dish. It was absolutely packed with day laborer folks when I went for lunch so get there early or late if you want a seat. The service is fast and friendly. ⁴⁄₅ is for the grill.

We were just searching around for somewhere to eat, so I suggested Chinese food. We found this place, and decided to go there. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and allowed to look at the buffet.
The food was what you would usually expect at a Chinese buffet. Nothing terrific worth mentioning but it didn’t taste bad by any means. Our server was very friendly and kept our drinks filled and plates off the table.
My only complaint would be the sushi was room temperature-​ish. I almost felt uncomfortable eating it but I did anyways. It wasn’t the best.
The chicken, soup, lo mein, etc. was very good and fresh.
Would recommend this place if you’re not wanting something fancy, just looking for somewhere to get a bite to eat at.

It is not big buffet, but new cleaning fresh one. Lot Chinese mix American food like most of Chinese buffet in USA. It location was convenient. Food was taste, price very good.

Frequent customer here, It’s not bad here actually! Always get my orders to go, good food and quick service. Affordable too for a lot of food.

Got our order wrong, rice was stale. Definitely sub par quality. Won’t go back ever, nasty.

It’s a middle of the road place. Neither great nor awful. I do like the egg drop soup and the Mongolian pork. Nothing was bad but some things were cold and flavorless. Destin is seriously lacking a decent Chinese buffet.

Another typical, average Chinese buffet in the south. This one has a Mongolian grill option (included in the buffet price) which, in my opinion, is the best part of the place. At least by choosing your own ingredients and sauces you can somewhat get what you’d like. It tends to get very busy during lunchtime, as it seems that every day laborer within a 100 mile radius chooses to dine here. I don’t do sushi from buffets so I can’t speak on it. They do have a wide variety of foods to choose from.

Typical Chinese buffet… maybe a little below average. Went here with 4 friends the other night for dinner. Everyone agreed that all the food was pretty mediocre. Nothing was all that good. They have a Mongolian grill there that 2 of my friends got. Both said it wasn’t very good either. Staff was very nice and service was very good but the food was not. Would not recommend.

Some of the worst food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Everything I tried tasted the same, and not in a good way. The sushi had no flavor. The hot and sour soup tasted like only of vinegar as if they didn’t use any stock. Even something as simple as a sweet roll for desert failed: dry, stale, flavorless. Airplane food is better.
You’d enjoy your $ 12 dollars more if you burned it. At least it would warm your hand for a few moments.

Second time here. Male staff for second time interrogates my 11 year old over her age (pulled same thing last year when she was 10). Had 8 people at table so apparently this means we get a 15% gratuity– at a BUFFET??? Happy to tip– was a waiter myself but come on. Last straw was a 12 inch long hair that one of our party ate from buffet… The wait staffs answer? It came from a patron– no offer to comp that persons meal.
Steer clear of this place…

I tried just about everything on the buffet and everything was delicious. The Mongolian barbeque was very good also. The food was very fresh and hot.

Not only was the food awful, but they took 3hrs to deliver our 4 piece order on a Monday night! Will NEVER eat from here again!

When you spend under ten bucks to eat as much as you want, you don’t expect it to be great. I believe that is the same philosophy that the owners must have of this joint. The «sushi» from the other review for my experience was rice and cucumber, krab (not crab), or cucumber with krab. The hot items were about as good. I like to take a really small bit of everything that looks good first round, then go back and get what was good. I sat there for a few minutes trying to decide what the least offensive thing was that I had just tried. The chicken wing was good at least. I had a coupe more wings, and some soft serve. Its always annoying how you eat too much at a buffet, and feel uncomfortable afterwards. Luckily, everything was pretty bad, and I left not even the slightest bit uncomfortable which was the best part of the meal. Maybe this is authentic Chinese, and I understand why there aren’t tons of overweight chinese, why gorge when it sucks…

I love their food! By far the best Chinese around. Best of all is they also deliver. I often order and it is at my doorstep within 30 – 40 minutes.

I did not try one thing that I didn’t like. There were about six different types of sushi to choose from and every one was delicious. The desserts were good also, and they have self serve ice cream which is always a plus.
There were about two long rows of food to try from, and like I said it was pretty good. The restaurant was not expensive my group of four walked out after only spending $ 40 and feeling satisfied.
The service was great and they removed our plates and refilled our cups within seconds of them being empty. I will definitely be going back.

Should be called Old Nasty Dragon. Food was hard and stale. Also all fried items tasted like they had been fried together with crab. So nasty. If u want to talk about quanity compared to quality, this takes the cake.
