Saw a flyer at work and was thinking of Italian. I am new to the area and one of the daily specials caught my eye. Spaghetti and Meatballs with Garlic Bread, ordered for pickup and was told about 15 min. They gave me good directions to the location. I arrived and the cashier went in back to pickup, she was gone about 5 minutes. There was no one in the restaurant but myself and an older gentleman and 2 little kids at a table. As I stood there waiting he was playing with the kids his game was to rile them up and have them run around the restaurant screaming at the top of their lungs. I only mention this because part of the game was to spell their name(while screaming) «ALLEGRETTI!!» Thought that was kind of rude while a customer was there. Food came out I left to eat at work. I bought a salad add on for a buck. It was very wilted, the creamy garlic dressing was good. The spaghetti was an embarrassment for an Italian family — it was complete mush, Sauce was ok, Meatballs were very good. I paid around 9 dollars for everything. A solid MEH. Don’t think I will return

I ordered delivery and it was a terrible experience! Pizza def was not worth the wait. Had to wait over 2 hrs for an xl pizza and all i got was a medium. Called them back and they said it was my problem. What a terrible experience, and the pizza wasnt even that great!

I never give bad reviews on restaurants but this is THEWORST!!! I ordered a delivery and everything was hard as rock! The bread was burnt and it was so hard that I can’t even bite on it. The fries were burnt too, super hard. The ribs were not cooked so they were super hard to bite on as well(can’t even separate them by hands). I’m only in my 20s so it’s not my teeth. Never order anything from here again.

Great pizza ! Half price on Monday’s, ordered formaggio with sausage and fried mushrooms and onion rings. All very good and nice staff as well.

I went there for a business lunch while doing some training in the area. I moved to Chicago from further West a couple of years ago and have only had two other deep dish pizzas, from well known chains, and I wasn’t overly impressed. Alegretti’s sausage deep dish was the bomb! Soft, cheesy, flavorful interior with a crust that looked almost wood fired with a nice crisp edge to it. Service was good and the pizza was worth the little extra drive from the office.

I’ve dined in a few times — always had a good experience, though nothing fancy. I never realized that they are BYOB but after reading some of the reviews, sounds like they may be — that might make dining in a more appealing option, as their wine list is very lacking. I’m a big fan of their thin crust pizza! Best little pizza place in DP, in my opinion.

I am a Fan of Allegeretti’s pizza. I have never dined-in only picked up and used delivery but from the thin crust standard fare to the specialty pizzas to the stuffed that I just ordered … all very good. Admittingly the sweeter sauce works better for the thin than the stuffed but it’s still not bad. The crust, cheese and topping are all top notch. Please tell me this isn’t a fluke … but finally a pizza joint that knows how to make buffalo hot wings. Their wings weren’t drowning in sauce and had good flavor and a nice little bite to them. Delivery has always been within the time frame given. Just wish they we’re open a bit earlier on the weekends for game day.

This is one of my favorite pizza place. Their thin crust pizzas are just awesome. I love their pineapple-giardiniera pizza and arrabbiata pasta. Oh and I must mention, try their tiramisu– it is something to die for!

Stopped in with my girlfriend on a Thursday night to grab a bite to eat. I live nearby and usually get the food delivered, but stopped in to take advantage of the BYOB. I haven’t been inside restaurant for awhile, as I said I usually get it delivered, and it looks like they made some renovations. Really freshened the place up! I had the ribs and my girlfriend had a chopped salad. We both loved our meals! The ribs were tender and the sauce was delicious, some of the best I’ve had. My girlfriend compared the chop salad to Portillos’! The staff was very friendly and attentive. I think the family runs it and you can tell they care about their customers and the quality of food they serve. They have time and time again given us a reason to remain loyal customers and the new renovations will have us stopping in again real soon!

The pizza is good, if you use the coupon it’s a really good deal. I see some of the other reviews and I respect people’s opinion, but you could do much worse in the area and spend a lot more for mediocrity. Their staff isn’t the friendliest, but I will take decent food with a snarl over crap on a plate with a smile.

The worst food I’ve eaten in years. The pizza is all sauce with very little cheese to a point you can’t taste it. The sausage on the pizza was completely pink and raw. The garlic bread doesn’t even have enough garlic on it to taste; so you’re left tasting bread. The fries taste frozen and low quality from a thrift store. I would rather pay an extra $ 10-$ 15 for quality than buy something I can’t eat. And this place has the nerve of charging the average rate for their awful food. Also, the sauce on the pizza is terrible! In one spot its too sweet in other spots its sour like vinegar, which is something I do not get. Oh and the ribs sauce taste like hot sauce mixed with ketch up. This restaurant does not try to put out good food. I wish I could give them zero stars.

I didn’t like it. I was driving around for lunch aimlessly & saw this place. It looked like a whole in the wall until I stepped in. It was nice and small. But their 8 tables were filled so that’s good. I ordered a pepperoni slice which wasn’t ready, I waited like 5mins for a fresh slice. It was $ 5 for a decent size. The slice lacked flavor horribly. From the crust to the sauce it was TASTELESS… I won’t be back. Parking is also not great!

I honestly am shocked to read any negative reviews here on Unilocal.I’m so glad I ignored them. I recently moved into a new home and former owners recommended this place for great pizza. Initially I had them deliver and was so surprised at the quality/flavor and great prices. Allegretti’s stuffed pizzas are as good as, if not BETTER than other famous Chicago pizzas — Lou Malnatti’s, Uno/Due, Gino’s, etc. Delivery is always by the nicest, most accommodating guys. Always fast/on time. Since moving here, I now buy extra pizzas to take to out of town family who also LOVE their pizza. Prior to this, they would ask for Chicago’s famous Lou Malnatti’s — not anymore. Now we all LOVE Allegretti’s. We typically order thick/stuffed spinach and/or sausage. Their thin crust pepperoni is also a family favorite. Amazing prices but most importantly the flavors(tomato sauce/crust) are almost TOODELICIOUS. I could eat their pizza every day. Finally, as for the location — it’s very small restaurant in a small strip mall area. Nothing fancy at all — but everyone that works there is very sweet and friendly. I’ve picked up pizzas for parties and the owners have always been accommodating and friendly. Even the phone staff is always helpful and courteous if I have to pre-order for out of town guests. FIVESTARS all the way for this gem of a place. For the record, since moving I have yet to find any restaurant(whether high end or budget friendly) that is ¼ as good as this place. I highly recommend their pizza!

Amazing food! I am so glad we ignored the bad reviews. My girlfriend and I absolutely loved this place! Small, family feel to the place. Great selection on the menu. Very courteous and tentative staff. And most importantly the food was so delicious! We ordered fried mushrooms cooked perfectly, a combo beef, and fettuccine Alfredo that were both great! Their marinara was probably my favorite. They served it with breadsticks. We look forward to returning here, and strongly urge you to try it.

Meh. Overpriced for what you get. The pizza was shockingly bland and flavorless. Barely any sauce or cheese. Felt like I paid for chewy dough. The calamari is pretty decent. Panzerotti is better than average.

This was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had!!! I came into this place wasn’t sure what I wanted. The server suggested the Chicken parmsean I had mozzarella sticks to start with and they were undercooked. This a Tuesday night I was the only one in the place. now for the chicken parmasean it was horrid it was a frozen chicken breast and it was tough to cut tough to chew. The owner was leaning off to the side and was watching me eat what he calls authentic Italian food walking around the restaurant with 5he stench of cigarette smoke on him. They had another person who must have been friends of the owner walk back to the soda gun and went to get himself a pop however he put his hands in the ice. Please do not eat here save your money.

My first time ever using Unilocal.I had such a bad experience with this place, I had to warn others. Spent almost $ 30 on a tiny pizza that had no flavor and the staff was miserable. I have all the respect in the world for restaurant owners and staff, but this place is horrible. And they don’t seem to care. Avoid this place.

Wish I had nice things to say about this place. From the moment you walk in they make you feel as if you are a bother to them. The elder lady at the register can not smile. Why does she work for a place she hates so much is beyond me. If this is how they treat their customers, I can only imagine how they treat their staff. The only cook was standing outside smoking. I watched him as he came inside and had hoped he washed his hands, but he did not use the restroom, so again can only imagine. When we tried to pay, the angry lady at the register said she did not have any money to give us change. How do you run a business without any money in your register? Oh that’s right! A unsuccessful business. Maybe I caught them on an off day so I will give them one more shot. But if we are treated the same way again, then I will leave a negative score.

One word can sum up Allegretti’s pizza: Salty. My friends and I ordered a thin crust pizza from this place one night and ate it around 9pm. The next day, I shared with them that I woke up in the middle of the night due to thirst and figured it was the high saltiness of the pizza that did it. Sure enough, my two other friends experienced the same thing. The deep dish is slightly less salty, but still pretty rough. The flavor isn’t bad though, so if you decide to order from this place I recommend eating it early in the day and having plenty of water to go along with it.

Readers of this post… DONOTORDERFROMTHISRESTAURANT! Absolutely AWFUL! we were told 40 minutes for delivery and our pizza came 1 hour and 20 minutes later… ice cold. We paid cash, called and asked for a manager, talked to Ben and he said«we’re all backed up, these things happen.» No offer for a refund, no offer for a fresh pizza, just pathetic excuses for why they suck. Ben, you’re a terrible manager and need to get a new job. As for alligrettis as a business, try offering realistic delivery times and hot pizza! Readers of this post… DONOTORDERFROMTHISRESTAURANT!
