too-late review as the restaurant closed, but wanted the owners to know they made the best Pad Kee Mow I’ve ever eaten and the green curry was delicious with the sublime texture of zucchini. i was planning a culinary trip to CO and this is the second of my four top restaurants that has closed… what is happening with the culinary scene in denver?

Much better than many of the Thai places in town, but Thai Mango is hit-or-miss. Sometimes they have awesome Pad Thai, but other times, it is slimy, crunchy, and flavorless. I come here on cold nights when I’ve worked OT and do not feel like cooking(wanting some Thai comfort food), but I don’t go out of my way. Luckily, it is on the way home, but lately I’ve been driving a little bit extra down Colfax for tastier Thai.

Decent place for Thai if you’re in a bind. You get a lot for your money, and the food is solid. Is it the best you’ll ever have? No. Service is OK, but it’s more of an order at the counter and they’ll bring you your food. The ambience doesn’t really make me think, «this is a Thai place.» However, it’s convenient, prices are decent and the food doesn’t suck.

I’m not a Thai enthusiast in any respect other than I thought the movie The Beach was pretty good, but if pressed to provide an opinion about Thai Mango, I wouldn’t tell you NOT to go there. I ordered Pad Thai to go from the surprisingly courteous gentleman manning the register, received it in just a couple of minutes(MORECOURTESY), and enjoyed it while watching football on my couch. And I was all alone in the basement with the lights almost completely dimmed, so I got to focus on the taste of food. And it was pretty good! So don’t NOT go to Thai Mango. I’m unsure if Thai Mango is better than comparably priced options, but I bet it’s not much worse.

I went in today for lunch. I ordered the Pad Green Curry. It was like pulling teeth finding out what the vegetarian option was, though it says right on the menu that there is one. For a «noodle bar» I was very disappointed that the noodle that come with the curry was spaghetti. Not a rice noodle, not any other asian noodle, but spaghetti. It seemed very lazy. The green curry sauce was bland even though I ordered medium spicy. This lunch portion came to approximately $ 9. Overall I would say it was not worth it at all. There are so many better Thai places in Denver: Thai Basil, Spicy Basil, Swing Thai, Tuk Tuk and US Thai. This was more like noodles and company with Thai flavoring. Also the gentleman who took the order was jerky.

In a city that lacks a broad range of cuisines(I’ve been eating in SF, DC, NY), I have resorted to eating lots of Thai– which is not an unpalatable consequence. Of the several Thai restaurants I have tried, Thai Mango is may favorite because of the generous and fresh ingredients; delicious interpretation of the standards – pad thai, green curry; and evident desire to give customers an enjoyable dining experience. Disclaimer: I have not tried the entire menu because I first ordered my favorites(pad kee mow, pad thai, green curry, thai tea, a few others) and stuck with them because they were the best or top two I’ve tasted in denver/boulder. However, from my experience, I trust their creations to be delicious and next time will order Thai Beef Salad and the Penang or Massamam curry. Everyone should try Thai Mango’s pad kee mow!! – it is one of the best i’ve ever had – layers of flavors and texture graced with generous amount of LARGE deveined, all-shell-removed shrimp. Pad Thai danced with flavor, color, and texture – crisp bean sprouts, succulent onions, toothsome noodles(as you can see from the pictures). Thai Mango’s green curry beats others with the addition of zucchini(instead of just green peppers) which absorbs the green curry and delivers a pillow of flavor and the chicken is high quality breast meat. Aside from the stellar food, the service is very gracious. Thai Mango’s challenge is overcoming the lost-in-the-middle-of-nothing location. The décor is oriented toward very casual, nondescript dining, but let that not dissuade you from a wonderful dinner – even if it’s «date night.»

Thai Mango is the only Thai restaurant in Cap Hill worth its weight in curry paste: the restaurant is clean, the people friendly, and the food delicious.

I don’t understand why this place has a 4-star average… =/ My fiancé and I wanted to grab some Thai takeout the other night(I’ve recently had a Thai food obsession). We thought we would give Thai Mango a try since they were semi close to where we live and still open at 8:30pm. I ordered the Pad Sea Eew without the beef and fiancé ordered the Shrimp Cashew Nut Wok. The Pad Sea Eew came with beef and an egg on it, which was very disappointing because I’m a vegetarian… the menu did not say it came with egg and I specifically requested no meat… regardless, I was starving so I picked out the beef & egg bits and was left with a small lump of noodles with ZERO flavor whatsoever. I’ve seriously never had Thai food so bland… ever. Fiancé’s dish was literally a pile of dry rice next to a small piles of mushrooms and a couple flavorless shrimp. He couldn’t even eat it – it was that bad. He instead decided to eat the«beef» I had picked out of my noodles and said that the meat product could no way be considered legitimate beef. Maybe it was an off day? Maybe the staff wanted to hurry up and close? I don’t know, but whatever we ate was NOT Thai food… I don’t think it was even food… If you want some GOOD Thai food(or something that’s at least edible), I highly recommend Tommy’s Thai, Hoong Gate Asian Grill, or even Thai Basil.

Song stuck in my head when thinking about my experience at Thai Mango? Elton John and Kiki Dee«Don’t Go Breaking My Heart» Yeah, like that’s not getting annoying pretty quickly. Like others I got the Living Social deal so I stopped in here the other night. Even though it’s right near the hot spots of Capitol Hill it was dead with only one other table dining in. When I walked in I was overwhelmed with the color scheme, it’s as if they threw a bag of Skittles around and let it gel. It was so happy and cherry I was really digging the warm, colorful environment! I needed the comfort of pad thai stat so I ordered that along with Thai Mango Veggies and Summer rolls to go. I told the cashier, who although seemed sweet albeit flighty) that I was going to had the pad thai there while they make the rest of the food to go. I sat down and within a few minutes the pad thai was out served with a little side salad on the plate. Usually hot lettuce skeeves me out but for some reason it didn’t warm and it was a perfect compliment to the hot dish. I ordered it with medium spice and it was just enough to get my tongue tingling but so much that I was cursing the Sriracha gods. There’s nothing more pleasing than a delightful pad thai! I finished half of the plate and got the rest to go and thought surely since it had been 15 minutes, the food I ordered to go would be ready yes? Negatron. I guess there was a little bit of a miscommunication or that she didn’t understand that I was eating there while waiting for the rest of the food to go. But even so they whipped it up quite quickly which made for some hefty leftovers this weekend. The Thai Mango Veggies were terrific and highlights tofu in it with a chile sauce. I appreciate that they didn’t douse down the veggies and rice in sauce and kept it on the lighter side. A good place to stop for some affordable Thai but just be sure to communicate what you want!

Actually some of the better thai food in Denver! Not the best atmosphere for a fancy dinner but they have fantastic food and very nice staff! Not just worth a try but worth making a regular!

This place is solid. If you’re looking for decent to good thai food that’s quick and affordable you should check this place out. It’s not that amazing local thai place that you tell all your friends about but it’s a really good got-home-late-from-work-don’t-feel-like-cooking option. I had a living social coupon good for $ 20 worth of food. Twenty bucks got us a crab wonton appetizer(good, but surprisingly spicy), curry(tasty), and a noodle dish(loved the sauce). So, it’s definitely affordable. The experience was similar to Thai Basil… but, you know… the food was actually good. Most dishes are under $ 9, the service was quick, and they have a parking lot. What more could you want? This is a welcome addition to the take out thai food options in town and I’ll probably be back.

Came to Thai Mango for lunch today. Although not«new», it was still new to me. I ordered the Garlic Chicken and Vegetables and my ining partner ordered Pork Soup. Both were exceptionally good. The Garlic Chicken came with vegetables and rice. The sauce was good — spicy without being too«in your face» hot. They do give you condiments on the side, one being pepper sauce, to kick up the heat if you desire. The Pork Soup was also good. For $ 5.50, the soup came in a huge bowl and was well worth the price. Great broth and really good pork as well. Overall, this is a good place for lunch. The price is right, the entrees are filling, and the employees at the counter are friendly.
