It’s closed. I drove there this morning and the windows and doors are covered with paper. There was a fruit and vegetable shop next door the looked interesting.

Great Local Market! Thank to my fellow Unilocalers for recommending this place. It was very nice to walk in and be greeted immediately. I arrived a little late in the day so the meat display was not as fully stocked. After looking at the quality which was top notch I will be back to get some in a week or two. I ended up getting some of their chicken salad — I believe you can tell a lot by a place’s chicken salad. It was yummy. Also grabbed a slice of their stuffed meatloaf that was stuffed with artichokes, mozzarella, and spinach. Really looking forward to tasting it. Great place to go and a great selection of prepared food as well as meats to choose from.

Can’t rate on quality yet… but will do that as soon as we are able to make it in there. What I can rate is customer service and that’s 5 out of 5 stars. I called on behalf of my boyfriend who is living in Denver(I’m in CA right now) and needed an emergency fish market. I called right at closing time but the owner, Phillip, took the time to ask me how long I would be because he was willing to stay around a bit longer if I needed something specific he had on hand… then took a few moments to share his regularly stocked items with me and offered to pick up specialty items if I gave him a day’s notice. What a great gesture… and such a sweet surprise at a time when customer service seems to be a lost art. Can’t wait to make it in there!!!

Two words… Boars Head. Have them make a sandwich or get your choice of deli sliced meat by the pound. Perfect place to get some freshly sliced T-Bones or some homemade Lasagna to take home.

Great local market. Customer Service is excellent. They serve fresh roast beef that is actually cheaper than Safeway and the meat is always great! After buying your main course, go next door for all of your produce needs

We started shopping at Fred’s(now Summer Hill Market) a few years ago — after our local meat market(Esquire Meats) went out of business. Shopping there is like going back in time, in a really good way. I love going on a busy Saturday as everybody seems to be like neighbors. It’s just a warm and friendly place. Jeff and the rest of the staff are great. The market includes all types of meats and fish as well as prepared foods, cheeses, breads etc. For the most part, the prices are good. It’s also a terrific place to get the yearly Thanksgiving turkey or Christmas ham. It’s so nice to live in a city/neighborhood that supports small businesses like Summer Hill Market.

Super great local business! I have been coming here for years for things that vary from my Thanksgiving turkey to my weekly Tilapia purchase. Jeff is the main man and a really top notch businessman. Calls his customers by name, gives special attention to everyone and even remembered my daughter had a birthday recently. Whether I’m making a roast or chicken soup I can rely on this place to have just what I need. The roasted chicken is good and the ribs though pricey are really, really good. Their deli meat selection is also top notch. Good stuff for any occasion and right next to Pete’s fruits and vegtables, another one of my most favorite places to do business.

Bring a friend. These portions are huge! Fred’s Fine Meats is more than just meat — it is a bit of a delicatessen and butcher shop. It is part of an old-timey neighborhood shopping center next to a small produce shop. I typically come here for their sandwiches, but their selection of cheeses and deli foods is quite nice as well. Their sandwiches are some of the best in Denver. They dish out classic, well-designed combos, with cold-cuts spilling out of a fresh baguette. My favorite is the Italian, but the roast beef is a close second. I suggest bringing a friend, because their sandwiches are way to big for one person to eat alone.

F*** $ 5 foot longs, man. Why bother when for 99 more cents you can get a lovingly crafted sandwich from Summer Hill Market(formerly Fred’s Fine Meats)? This is Hilltop’s little secret, but I’m letting the cat out of the bag! Take Alameda to Holly, then go north to Cedar, and you’ll find this little deli/market. Sure, their sandwich menu is a bit limited — a dozen sandwiches might be exaggerating slightly. But the quality of the breads and the meats won’t leave you pining for anything else. Try the Italian on a baguette(although they put mayo on mine and it was not listed on the menu, gag!) or the grilled turkey and brie, complete with cranberries. They offer deli-style sides, but in addition to the staple potato salad, you can also find tabbouleh and a mango salsa with black beans. Opposite the sandwich counter there is a reasonable butcher selection for the size of the shop. If you were in a bind you could whip up an entire meal with the very few odds and ends they carry in the dry goods department, especially if you grab some of the gourmet cheeses and fresh bread they sell as well. But, if you’re sticking with the sandwich, pay at the register and head outside to an austere but welcoming picnic area.
