CLOSED as of 7÷24÷15. I hadn’t been here in quite a while and just found out that the place is no longer in business. I can’t speak too much about the food since the ownership change, but I used to enjoy eating there semi-occasionally in the past. I do wonder if the preponderance of Asian fusion places with similar names had something to do with it, as people just couldn’t tell the difference between one and the next any more. Interested to see what comes into this space next.

We ordered takeout from here last Sat night. When I called it sounded busy & they quoted 45 min for our order to arrive, which was expected. I set the table and poured a glass of wine and no joke, the doorbell rang! I thought it couldn’t be them so quickly but it was! The order was fresh, hot, and correct. Literally 18 minutes from the call to the delivery on our doorstep and the driver could not have been friendlier. Everything was delicious. We normally go to Sweet Ginger(their sister restaurant in Cherry Creek) & randomly decided to try this for a change but I can say with absolute certainty we will be calling Spicy Ginger very often for takeout!

I have NO idea why this place isn’t rated higher!!! The food is way better than the swing place and Basssil. The sushi is in my opinion just a step below the Den and priced 10x better, and it tastes like they spare nothing on the quality of fish /ingredients used either. The thai menu is extensive and delicious! The Green curry or Pad se Lew with shrimp is a fav of the wife and mine(which the shrimp tastes the best out of anywhere if had, huge and fresh tasting!!). If you drive past this place thinking it’s just another Thai place, you wrong foo, give it a try and see for yourself, oh they have great beer and drink $$.

Love this place. Small and elegant with good prices especially for sake or beer. Two dollars all day can not beat that. Service is fast and the food is tasty. They recently just put in a sushi bar. Good for lunch any day.

Good food but overcharged for the meal then lost $ 20.00 in cash after correcting the bill then played dumb about it. Will not return obviously.

My whole family and I love this place. It’s very clean, friendly, and delicious. I am vegetarian and I crave the Thai Spring Rolls with avocado all the time. It’s nice to have a neighborhood restaurant that is affordable and delivers.

Spicy Ginger is amazing! I miss the affordable and great tasting asian cuisine that New York City had to offer and am so glad I found a place near by that offers the same. Dinner for two, we started with soup, split an appetizer and spilt an entrée(large portion for dinner plates) and the total was $ 19.60. Service was great! Be back very soon.

Went here for lunch on a snowy Thursday. My girlfriend and I shared a couple of rolls, which we eat quite often, and each had a lunch entrée/combo. Everything was top notch! I really enjoyed my green curry. Very reasonably priced with good portion sizes. I will be back again…

I truly enjoy Spicy Ginger’s menu for the value! I frequently visit(2 times a month) to either eat in the restaurant or pick up. I would definitely recommend their food. They also have a well priced happy hour!

I’m glad I gave this place a shot, since the reviews are slightly mixed. It was really really tasty! I ordered delivery, so it might be even better in shop. the awesome things: it arrived in only about 30 minutes, NODELIVERYFEE!, and the food tasted fresh and lovely. the shumai is fantastic. and all the sushi rolls we got were delicious. definitely try this place :)

I have seen Spicy Ginger go through a couple of ownership changes and must say the new owners/managers got it right. They now have a full bar and sushi bar. Their delivery is always quick and they have even delivered when they were closing. The curry is the best in town. The jalapeño beef is my new favorite. Everything we have ordered is very good. And the prices are pretty good two. The dinner curry is easily enough for two and sometimes there will still be leftovers. My daughters are vegetarians and they love the place. Do not let the reviews that were under the old management dissuade you. Look at the newer reviews and give it a try. Parking is a problem. There is a little parking behind the store off Downing. If the weather is good, park on Marion Parkway and walk the half block.

We have visited this restaurant roughly 4 times in the last 12 months. The service has been consistently friendly and efficient and the food has been consistently good. The atmosphere is pleasant and things are exceedingly clean. We really should go more often. We had the Thai Spring Rolls as appetizers. They were delicious and huge. A serving of two will easily feed four people. Last night my wife had the Whiskey Beef. It was a very nice cut of beef, perhaps flank steak, marinated, cooked, and sliced into thin strips. It was on a bed of perfectly stir fried vegetables with a perfect temperature and nice, crisp texture. The beef itself had a delicious taste and wonderful texture. I had the Shrimp Panang Curry bowl. Not an unusual dish, but it was done well. The base had the right taste and the shrimp and vegetables had the proper texture. They were quite generous with the shrimp. The dinner portions were generous and we’re enjoying the leftovers this evening. Two entrees, one appetizer and tea came to thirty dollars and some change, exclusive of a tip. A bargain for the quantity and quality of food.

We ordered delivery and food was great. We ordered orange beef, Thai spring rolls, Vietnamese rolls, miso soup and avocado salad. It was all fresh and really good. My husband said orange beef was a little salty but no biggie.

Sorry this place is a fail! It’s not something I would feed my dogs. The food is laden with corn starch and I am guessing heaps of MSG. I LOVE and I mean LOVE Thai and Asian food. This sad excuse of an Asian bistro is awful. The bar has a tv to watch sports is about the only thing I liked. To be fair the service was good and friendly. It’s just that the food leaves everything to be desired. I could go on and on about my sadness and disgust, but I think you got the point.

We live very close to this place but were reluctant to try it because it’s been several different restaurants, none of them very good. We thougnt we’d give it a try, and if we didn’t like it we’d walk down to Fontana sushi. We absolutely LOVED it! The chef Tony, is an artist, the manager Shawn is great. Really great service. We sat at the sushi bar and had several different rolls. The pearl, the lolipop, eel roll & a spring roll. The fish was super fresh as were all of the other ingredients. We also tried a couple of their low carb(no rice) rolls and loved them. I have been eating sushi since I lived on Maui in the 80’s, and this is the best sushi I’ve ever had(sorry sushi den). And no attitude(sorry sushi den) We went for happy hour and we were very happy! We can’t wait to go back, and we’re going to order some for my 60th birthday party at the end of this month. I can’t say enough how much we loved this place. I hope its a huge success! What a neighborhood gem!

I hate leaving bad reviews but Spicy Ginger left a lot to be desired. We ordered the following via take out: — General Tso’s chicken — Crab rangoons — Bang roll We were given free edamame with our order — cool. I would have rather received a discount or maybe one of the orders of rangoons for free, but whatever. The general tso’s chicken was crazy soggy. There was very little spice. Worst of all, there were yellow, green, and red peppers floating in the soggy mess. Sorry, but this is not the place for bell peppers. Lastly, the broccoli was the color of dead grass; almost a scary brownish color. I poked at one piece but it fell apart when my fork touched it so I stayed away. The rice was good and had a nice stickiness to it. The crab rangoons were freezing cold and basically devoid of filling. I scarfed them up because I am a disgusting person who will eat anything that touches a deep fryer. The bang rolls were mediocre. Probably the best part of the meal. The next time someone recommends Spicy Ginger, I recommend you pass.

This place is a block away and was my place of choice until a string of three terrible orders. Order 1. Food was nasty — improperly cooked food and bad sushi Order 2. Order was three hours late AND was the wrong order altogether(to which they gave us a $ 10 credit). Seems like they also did not remake the meals and just re-delivered them. Kinda gross thinking that someone else was looking through my food at their house before I got it… $ 10 credit on a 3-hour incomplete, incorrect $ 40 order doesn’t seem right either… Order 3. Tried to get delivery and use the credit from the previous mess-up but they have«no record» of the credit to which point they said, «maybe you can ask for the credit on the next order and maybe they will give it to you». Pretty sad considering only a few weeks ago we spent hundreds of dollars on a single order. If you want to risk having your dinner completely messed up, with restaurant staff who clearly is clueless or doesn’t care, while waiting for three hours while they allow other s to pick through your food, go for it. And this is just one order that we actually know about… Just a fair warning.

I still love this place, but now on Sundays they don’t open until 12. We’ve been a lot less lately because we go to church nearby, and church ends around 11 or 11:15, and we usually don’t want to just wait around for the restaurant to open. We used to go at least 2 Sundays a month, and take friends when we could, but not as much anymore. I wish they still opened at 11!

I have been to four Sushi places in Denver and taking into account atmosphere, food, service and price, this one is the best. If you are not walking distance to this location like myself, then you should anticipate a block or two walk from a side street such as Corona. The restaurant is relatively small but you are still given room to breathe from other tables. The service is great as the waiters are extremely friendly and patient and know their sushi. My friends have had the curry dishes there which are only average apparently, but I go for the sushi… and drinks. They have your basic roles(8 piece) such as California and Salmon and Avocado for just $ 2.75! Many mid range rolls are around $ 6/$ 8 and some fancier ones for a few dollars more. I have tried about 8 of their rolls and found all made well and delicious. The Yellowstone is my personal favorite as I love eel. Even the drinks are cheap there. You can get some happy hour specials as low as $ 1 per drink. But non-HH you can still get a 20 ounce Sapora for just $ 4. As far as sushi, I will be back!

Solid place for Thai food. I consider myself to be a pad thai connoisseur of sorts and even though the serving portion was enough for three people, it just didn’t do it for me. I ordered it spicy and it barely left a tingle on my tongue and it was neither sweet nor did it have a peanut-y taste to it like it should. They also added some other items in there which I’ve never seen before like sliced bell peppers and what looked like lettuce which made me feel like they were a little too ambitious with their pad thai. And that’s the thing that sucks-it was hearty and tasty… it just didn’t taste like pad thai so that was a bit awkward. The other thing that sucked was the music, It was set on a lovey dovey station so if you’re going through a break up or lovers quarrel, this may not be the best for you. Damn you John Michael Montgomery and your All-4-one cover of «I swear»! I will try them again for sure but I may have to venture out of my comfort zone of pad thai and take a chance on something else. Very friendly staff as well!
