We went to Fontana the other night and it was amazing! Best sushi I have had thus far in Denver. We are one of the MANY California transplants… and we know our sushi! Chang and Alex were fantastic and quickly picked up on our likes and dislikes and made multiple suggestions that we thoroughly enjoyed. Have been back since and can’t wait to go again! Side note… The Hip Hop roll is delicious, a must try! And if you have opportunity to try the Halibut Fin, you must! 5 stars plus for the service and the quality!!!

Denver’s hidden sushi gem. This place always seems to amaze me with the quality of their sushi and most importantly their service. A great place to grab a bite any night of the week. I would definitely recommend the ginger salad! The dressing is out of this world!

I was meeting a group of 9 friends for dinner at Fontana Sushi. The service was horrible. The restaurant was completely empty aside from one other customer at the sushi bar. We were there for 3 hours and the waitress came by one time! I had to chase the waitress for service 3 times. I have never left a restaurant hungry before. Worst experience I have had in a long time. The staff was just awful, except for the chef who prepared a nice dish for 2 of my guests. The dish was well garnished and impressive, but yeah service is not good, we will not be going back. Oh and the tables were very small.

I had a Groupon for this place and we were glad we went. I would like to give it 3.5 stars, but can’t seem to do that on my phone. The sushi was pretty good, but the menu was a little confusing. I didn’t really understand the $ 1 all day sushi that the server told us about as that wasn’t really reflected on the ordering menu. We got the vegetable tempura, spicy scallop roll, spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna sashimi, spicy scallop handroll and the fire roll. The good: The spicy salmon roll was the best one for sure. I could have eaten just that. They also gave us some fresh wasabi to try for free and some delicious candied jalapeños, which we loved and ate with almost every piece of each roll. The fire roll was also good, but needed some texture as it was a bit mushy. The just ok: The veggies in the tempura, especially the sweet potato were not cooked all the way and were crunchy. The jalapeños on the fire roll were insanely hot. The spicy scallop roll was kind of bland. We are glad we went here and will be back again. We liked it so much better than Taki Sushi.

Our order arrived 20 minutes early, and the driver was very friendly. The yaki soba was good, every veg was identifiable and not sauteed to death. We got a philly roll and a nemo roll and they were both delicious. We will definately order again.

Love this neighborhood sushi spot! Annie always offers excellent recommendations on the freshest options for the day. The staff is wonderfully friendly and welcoming. Great little atmosphere and I’ve never waited for a table!

This is some of the better sushi I have had in Denver. Personally I think it blows Sushi Den out of the water. The Diablo Roll was my favorite roll and they had fresh wasabi that was amazing.

Can’t beat the price and the quality. The sashimi appetizer was delicious. The fish here was fresh and the maki roll portion size is good. The décor is very elegant and the service was efficient. We had a late dinner, and two maki rolls and an appetizer was actually filling for two people. It’s definitely a cute neighborhood sushi bar that has good quality sushi!

The sushi here is absolutely delicious. I love every single bit of it. And for the most part it’s not too incredibly expensive. I go here almost every Friday for lunch. I’d heartily recommend the lunch roles because those are the cheapest but almost everything on their menu is great including the desert, and if you get desert I’d either recommend the red bean mochi or red bean ice cream. The green tea ice cream isn’t too great but the red bean is delicious. The paper tablecloth is also really fun to draw on too. Another plus. I only gave it three stars largely because they are not too great on the service. Once they serve you the food they never come back. And if you want something else you have to physically get up to get someone’s attention, and they do have the occasional fly’s running around and I’m not a huge fan of flies. I don’t know anything about their delivery experience but if you want to go in and sit down for lunch it’s not too terrible of an option.

I was first attracted by the central location and later-than-most hours. The setting was so intimate yet comfortable with the tanks full of beautiful tropical fish. Loved the paper tablecloth– my date and I got creative while waiting for our meal ;). Or server was super sweet and a master at upselling! The bill was certainly more than I would like to spend on sushi night although I enjoyed every bit of the flavors. We even got a 10% coupon for our next visit! Don’t think it’s economical as a casual sushi joint — more for drawn out conversations, doodling, and that one time we splurge on fine dining. Get the mochi! Cheers.

Great prices for lunch! 3 rolls for $ 9.95 and $ 1 pieces of sushi all day. Only annoyance was a hovering fly, which is kind of gross if you think too much about it. Other than that, the service was great and the food was good.

Prices, staff, food. can’t beat it. LoVE it. The food is always fresh. Prices — can’t beat the $ 1/piece menu. Always a great selection. And the staff is so very friendly. My FAVORITE place for lunch!

I have been here several times and keep going back. The sushi here is very fresh. The Spanish Mackerel was the best I have ever had and the seared Halibut was to die for! Also, try the fresh wasabi.

I ordered Fontana last night for delivery. They said it would be 45 minutes and the delivery person came in probably 20. Free delivery within 3 mile radius. Very good value for nirgiri, $ 1 per piece dine in, about $ 2 dine out. I also had the philly rolls, good balance of ingredients. Black dragon rolls were also awesome. Good sushi, good value.

Two stars, one for speed and the other for the driver who was nice. The curry sauce was starchy and bland. The cutlet was under-cooked. Altogether, just not good food or value.

I will start by saying I never give a Sushi place less than 4 stars. why? Because I don’t eat Sushi and I don’t think it is fair for a non-sushi eater to give a bad review to a sushi place. But… my wife loves sushi so alas… I often find myself at sushi restaurants. We went to Fontana Sushi with the whole fam and everyone seemed to really like the sushi. Service was OK to mediocre… but everyone liked the food. I had my regular sushi hater food of chicken teriyaki. It was good.

Main waitress is extremely rude. We are regulars and get her every time, but she never has given us decent service. Is not friendly and doesn’t seem to care about the customers, just getting to the next table.

This review is for their DELIVERY service specifically, and allows for the fact that we are in Denver… not San Francisco. My wife and I eat a lot of sushi. We’ve been to many places in Denver, but when we don’t feel like going out(but still want the experience), this is our hands down go-to place. We’ve ordered delivery sushi from here six times or so in the last few months, and everything I have to say about them has been consistent. So far, no other delivery sushi comes close(I haven’t reviewed them, yet). We usually get a mix of regular and specialty rolls. The fish has always tasted fresh, as all the ingredients. One thing that sticks out to me is that whomever is creating the dishes(or prepping the ingredients) seems to be really OCD /meticulous about getting exactly the right cuts of carrot, cucumber, etc; too often, those things are thick and sloppy which really detracts from a good sushi experience. The rice is the right texture and everything holds together well. Solid offering there. We’ve also tried the shu mai, which was pretty delicate with a nice sweet sauce — though it did arrive less than hot both times. No stars docked for that, we’re a few miles away and lucky they deliver uptown. The gyoza on the other hand arrived hot and tasty the few times we’ve had it. Same for the miso soup — on par with any miso I’ve had… but I guess it’s hard to mess that up ;) Venturing out from my usual selections, last night I ordered the yakisoba. That was what prompted me to finally review the place — what a stunner! I was expecting the usual«salt bomb» noodle dish; what I got was a nicely balance noodle, chicken that was actually breaded meat(not the beaks and feet gristle you might be resigned to if you eat Asian in Denver very often). Really very pleasant. My wife had a couple of bites and mused, «this is better than any lo mein I’ve ever had in this town.» Sure, they’re not the same dish, but we love noodles, and these guys do them well. If I had to nitpick, maybe a tad on the oily side, but I’d rather that than dry and clumpy. We’ve probably tried two other delivery sushi places here. If you’re not appalled by the idea of having sushi«in» and you don’t feel like going to get it, this place outclasses the others so far.
