The runaway winner for 16th street breakfast burrito. An office favorite. Often times I buy two in the morning so I can also have one for lunch!

Had döner kebab several times on a trip in Germany last year and have been looking for it ever since. The döner kebab sandwich(with lamb) is fantastic. Considering it was about € 3.50($ 5.00) in Germany, the $ 6.00 price tag is hardly exorbitant.

Let me start this review by clarifying my rating a bit: When compared to other kebab options in Denver, this awesome little cart is easily a 5. However, having lived in London and been spoiled by kebabs in Eastern Europe, I’m going to go with the solid 4 rating. This is guaranteed the best option in the greater Denver area, and the closest to anything in Europe(no doubt due to the purveyors’ Austrian heritage). Definitely recommend adding it to your weekly rotation of lunch destinations in the CBD. I hear they also make an absolutely killer breakfast burrito.

The lamb and beef kebab plate with falafel… Yum… This food stand really knows how to make Mediterranean food. The lamb was delicious and tender, the falafel balls were rightfully made with a crunchy exterior, the salad counterbalanced the heavy nature of the rest of the dish. The pros go on and on. If you are in the area you have to give this place a try!

As the Gershwin brothers wrote(and Ella Fitzgerald sang): I say tomato and you say tomahto. I say potato and you say potahto. Tomato tomahto potato potahto, Let’s call the whole thing off. Or maybe we should call it Shondiz. Unilocal reviews rave about the wonderful shawarma, gyros, and doner served by the two brothers in a food cart located at 16th and Glenarm. And well they should. The pressed and spiced roll of lamb is wonderfully flavorful. Some reviewers complain about them using too much garlic in their preparations but for me that’s one of the things that make their dishes so very tasty. Too much garlic? Eat an Altoid and get over it. Life is short. Eat what tastes great. And call it what you like. Those words(shawarma/gyros/doner) all mean the same thing but in different languages. They all mean«things cooked while turning on a spit.» The best etymological explanation I’ve seen is at . So call it whatever you like. They don’t care. But know that these Shondiz Brothers serve some of the best in town and they do it with enthusiasm and great smiles. Hope the place stays around forever. Sign me, David«Kebab» M

Not sure what’s motivating all the high ratings. I got the lamb/beef shawarma sandwich. Meat didn’t seem to be that great of quality. I also got a side of falafels which had way too much garlic. Overall food was pretty bland and I did not enjoy the meat at all.

Total crap in terms of preparation. Is it his first week? He is supposed to be open for more than 2 more hours and he is out of meat to make a sandwich(beef or chicken). I mean come on man. The food may be good but his service blows.

Only place to get REAL Doner Kebabs in Denver. Fast and friendly service, should 100% make a brick and mortar shop.

One of the best Middle Eastern places in Denver, so delicious and reasonable and filling and the owner is such a nice guy! Highly recommended!

This is a Middle Eastern food truck on 16th street mall. I was served up piping hot freshly fried falafel with tasty dolmas in their vegetarian plate. The plate was plated beautifully and with care, better than some 5 star places I have recently eaten at… ahem. The hummus was a bit garlicky for me, but definitely a solid choice for a quick lunch!

This paltry one-star rating isn’t because I got a bad meal at Shondiz, it’s because I wasn’t allowed to have a meal at Shondiz. When I arrived, eager to try the Unilocal-lauded breakfast burrito, the proprietor told me that since I hadn’t called in, he couldn’t accommodate me for 15 minutes. Not particularly nicely, either. I’d give another star for service if he’d at least pretended to regret he wouldn’t serve me. Fine. Do what you gotta do. But this was my first impression of Shondiz. I’m not likely to make any effort to go back. The person who shows up at your place of business — money in hand, asking to support you — should probably earn a cut in the line of people who quite literally phoned it in.

holy moly! So good! I love trying the street food stands around downtown and I decided to try Shondiz after reading the other Unilocal reviews. I went at 12:30, I should have known better, the busiest time to go get lunch. There were four people in front of me and it took about half hour to get my food– I was lucky I wasn’t in a rush to get back to work(ha!) I got back to my office and thought that the sandwich looked small but I was fooled. It was a massive pile of veggies, lamb meat, and sauces. Warning: it is messy to eat! Insanely messy! By some miracle I didn’t spill anything on my white pants. I should go buy a lottery ticket!

Charming little food cart conveniently located on the heart of 16th. I was worried it would be bogged down with the business rush at noon, but i was in and out with food in less than five minutes. I opted for the Donner Kabob plate with the hummus and pita chosen side labeled as $ 8.50. However, I only received $ 10.50 back from my $ 20 so I’m not too sure what happened there… I wasn’t going to sweat the buck. Comes as a deconstructed plate which you can put together as you please. I particularly enjoyed the chili sauce it came with, i haven’t had this served with gyros before but i like it spicy so I’m a fan. A satisfyingly sized portion, served hot and quick, good flavor, an altogether noteworthy lunch quick grab.

This is quite literally the best breakfast burrito I have ever had. Called ahead of time in case there was a line. Made fresh. Was ready in 10 min just like he said. The sausage was delish(not all sausage is!) All the ingredients went SO well together into one comprehensive item. I dont even know what all was in there! This is not the typical breakfast burrito where you feel like you’re just eating scrambled eggs + whatever else wrapped up into a tortilla. YUM

This place is amazing! I work in the area and go here quite frequently !! Just the best food! So much flavor! I will continue to go here for as long as I live in Denver! To be clear this is a food cart in the middle of 16th st Mall. It is located right beside Hard Rock Caffe. Really great food!

Who would have thought you could find such good falafel in downtown denver? Not me, thats for sure. Fresh falafel made right in front if you. First i had the kabeb, which was good, not great, but I went back for falafel today and it was awesome. My work colleague agrees. Really want to try their breakfast burritos next.

Wow! This place is so legit. Got the shawarma with grilled onions, chicken, and mild — with all the toppings. Best combination of flavors and heat in my mouth. I love the music and the set up of the cart. Did anyone else notice the AC? This will definitely be one of my core to go lunch places. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.
