Seven-Eleven Stores

I get gas here on occasion. I buy coffee here. I pick up those cupcake sugar jobbers when they are buy-​one-​get-​one-​for-​something-​less. I’ve bought lottery tickets here once. I’ve bought Rockstar here. I’ve bought those Brie Danish breakfast things. I’ve purchased a Slurpee. I’ve bought a few bags of Skittles. I’ve bought a bag of Gardeto’s. I’ve bought a banana at the cash register to feel healthy. I’ve bought lots of junk here.

It is my local. I can buy slurpies (not that I do), get coin from the ATM, Zynga game cards (don’t judge), and the sweet lotto ticket. Dang those winning numbers are hard to call but the staff is always nice and kind, the gas is some where on mark and if I ever get that stoned again, those bitching nachos are mine baby!

The most convenient of all convenience stores. As a purveyor of many a 7-​Eleven, I’ve seen it all. Imagine what a 7-​Eleven clerk must go through in a day. But here, at the 7-​Eleven at Alameda and Pearl, the clerks are about as sweet as can be. I was a little jealous the first time I heard one of the clerks greet another customer as «Hello, My Friend!» — I thought I had been the only one. Expiration dates are actually checked. They will, without complaint, change the soda feeds right when you ask if they are out of something. There have been times when I didn’t even need to ask because they saw me coming. The place is clean and well cared for. Once I saw them cleaning the fuel pumps. The fuel pumps. But that’s the kind of 7-​Eleven this place is.
