Satay By Jorge

I always order from Jorge when I see his truck. The menu offers fresh, healthy options. The shrimp, my personal favorite, are marinated in a lime — chili mixture that has the perfect amount of spice. I love the peanut dipping sauce on the side.

I decided to do a little food truckin’ and stumbled upon Satay By Jorge. I was drawn by the simple menu and healthier options. The overall experience was just «OK.» Nothing really exceptional… but nothing too terrible. Based on the 3 «P’s» the combo working the truck, today, may need to iron some wrinkles while running this truck…
Process: Very disorganized. You could not tell where to order or who to order from… I actually had to ask, «Who do I talk to about ordering?» If I were rating based on this process, I would have given it a solid 1 Star.
People: The people running the truck were very polite/​nice and worthy of a 4 star rating. The customer service helped offset the lack of organization re: ordering process.
Product: The food was just «OK.» The grilled shrimp was simply grilled shrimp… I was sort of expecting some nice «Polynesian» flavors as described by the menu. Nope… I just received a plain skewer of slightly overcooked shrimp for $ 11. The accompanying peanut sauce was also nothing to write home about. I also ordered the vegetarian spring rolls and got exactly what I ordered for $ 7. The sauce that was included with this order had a really nice flavor. I wish the shrimp would have been marinated in it. Overall the food was 3 stars — «A-​OK.»

Awesome food truck! Great food, great price, great service! Had the tempura tofu. So yummy! The cucumber salad was so bright and refreshing. Will look for this food truck again!

I just tried this truck at Civic Center Eats. The tofu skewers are very good. I didn’t care much for the peanut sauce, as all I could taste was ginger – no peanut. But the sauce on the tofu was delicious, so I didn’t end up needing to dip it in anything. I will be back for more tofu! I feel the price is just a bit high, but other than that it’s a great truck.

This is one of the better food trucks in town, every item we ordered was fresh and tasty and the owner was friendly and helpful. The chicken wings, shrimp satay, and pork satay are favorites. The peanut sauce and cucumber salad were great additions!

Good satay with excellent flavor. The side sauce is very rich and compliments the lamb well.
