The hubby and I stopped in on a whim when we both had the day off on a Tuesday afternoon. It was a snowy cold day so there was only one other couple there when we arrived. The service was great, and the food was amazing. We will certainly be back when we are on this side of town alone again.

I would have to say that this is probably a step or two above Taco Bell. If they stuck a drive-thru on the side of the building, you probably wouldn’t be able to taste a difference. If on a Saturday night, in Denver, you can walk into a place and immediately seat yourself because all but the bar seems to deserted, you should probably turn around and walk out. The service was extremely slow(however the two that waited on us were very nice). The food was so bland and seemed to be the quality of a Colfax Taco Bell. The quesadilla was all tortilla and the rellano was basically grease with a side of pepper on a plate. Avoid this place like Texans avoid Hillary Clinton.

I’m in Denver for a few weeks and always have time around dinner to kill. I’ve eaten here three times and every time has been delicious. The servers have all been very friendly and on top of things. Beers ice cold!

Poor attempt at Tex Mex. Wanted decent Mexican food and was disappointed. We found the food to be mediocre and bland. Would look else where if I was you.

No Having a = = Come in for bad day? Yes a Margarita That’s one of the first things we saw on their sandwich board, which made us say, «yes please!» Went in for lunch on a Saturday and found out they were serving brunch, and so that’s what the gentlemen got. The brunch burger, which I they said was incredible(wonder if they have GF buns). Mexican Mules, they have perfected. OMG, those were good. And don’t forget to leave with(a purchased) bottle of their hot sauce. That stuff is bomb!

I gotta say that I’m not really impressed, at all. The boyfriend and I stopped in whilst running about on errands. We drove by and decided to stop in for some good Mexicanish food. Service was prompt and at least decently friendly. Well, the margaritas are good. I ordered a frozen watermelon and he a Rita special. Both were tasty and refreshing. The food, however, was a bit of a letdown. It was flavorless and didn’t seem overly well thought out. We ordered pretty simply, getting the quesadilla and chicken tacos as they come, adding only a side of rice and beans. Definitely americanized Mexican food. The salsa that came with the quesadilla was a little strange — it tasted like it had some of their mango purée in it with no spice or kick to it at all. The tacos were bland and the only flavor I got from them was the onions. Both dishes also came with what appeared to be pickled, sautéed onions on the side. Yeah, I don’t think we’ll be back.

This place is horrible. A group of friends & I just left because they had the rudest service ive ever experienced. It’s so bizarre. I thought maybe the waitress was just jones’n till I read all the other reviews and found it wasn’t just us.

I have been reading through quite a few of reviews on Rita’s. I must say, I am really surprised! I, for one, as well as my fella and all of our co-workers are big fans. We work right down from Rita’s and frequent there quite often. The wait staff is always great to us, the margaritas are AMAZING, and quite frankly, I have enjoyed everything I’ve ever ordered from there. I feel really bad that people have had bad experiences, because ours have always been so great!

Do not eat here. Everyone in my group felt seriously ill after we left and my friends and I all got exceedingly sick after our visit. We suspected bad alcohol… I was nauseous the whole night after getting home from this place. The food is lousy, the margaritas are terrible. I’m pretty sure we’ll never eat here again…

My husband and I love this place but more so in the summer time so we can sit on the patio. Happy Hour, I repeat, Happy Hour is the best time to visit this establishment. Their HH food is DELICIOUS. The HH margaritas are so-so. I think the tequila they use is cheap; my husband said it gives him a headache. I mentioned that we like to sit in the patio… that would be because the music is WAYTOOLOUD inside more often than not especially if you go in the evening after 8 p.m. I like to be able to have a conversation with my husband over dinner. Nothing wrong with loud music but if you can’t hear your waitress, she can’t hear you and you can’t talk to your hubby… In other words — PLEASETURNITDOWNPEOPLE. Other than that, GREATFOOD!!!

We had been wanting to try this place for a while because we love Tex Mex so today we finally got there. We won’t be going back. We both had beers and the service was prompt. However halfway through our first beer the staff decided to turn the music way up. So much that the two of us had to yell at each other to talk. I’d understand that if it was 10pm but it was 6:30 pm and there weren’t more than a dozen people in the place — that should have been a sign when we walked in… Both of us had burritos. Mine was carne asada with green chili sauce and the other was barbocoa with red sauce. We also had chips and salsa. While the food didn’t taste bad, it didn’t taste like anything. Completely bland and blah. We used a half bottle of Chuhula sauce just trying to get some flavor. The bartender asked how things were and we had to ask twice what she said. When we commented it was hard to hear, she said«yeah it gets that way in here». Geez, wouldn’t have«gotten that way» if she hadn’t turned up the music so loud with very few customers in the place!!! Blah food, couldn’t have a conversation over dinner. The service was good but couldn’t make up for it.

My husband and I have frequented Rita’s off and on since 2010. It was one of the few places we missed when we moved out of the neighborhood a few years back. Not perfect by any means, but it does have it’s charm. Pros: Casual/quaint atmosphere Open air/Patio dining Tasty Margaritas Fresh Chips & great guacamole Cons: Smaller capacity = smaller staff(hence the«seat yourself» sign at the door) Wait times can be a bit long during peak hours Some dishes are definitely more tasty than others Parking can be scarce

WORSTSERVICEAND A HAIRINMYFOOD. We nearly walked out as soon as we walked in as no one offered to seat us. No one paid any attention until we spent several minutes seating ourselves. Dinner was going great until I pulled a long wavy brown hair out of my taco. I lost my appetite and then we waited another half an hour before someone came to bring us the check. Way overpriced for the quality of food. ZERO customer service. Will NEVER patronize this establishment again.

Been here before, like the location & Atmosphere. Chips & Salsa, an additional charge, a little unusual but served warm & fresh. Upgraded the Marq’s to Patron, & they were great & generous portion. We both ordered Chicken Burrito’s, smothered in green chile. Bad choice, & in a Mexican restaurant, boring, lousy Burrito’s??? Burritos had no spice, no flavor, smothered in Sour Cream, & Green Chile might as well been jarred brown gravy, yuk. Haves had Tacos here before & should we come back, would have next time, but again, pretty disappointed tonite.

I want to write a new review about this place since it has been a few years. I no longer live in the neighborhood of Lowry, but I will make the trek down to Salty Ritas. I make the drive because of the awesome staff. They are and always have been welcoming and make you feel like you are apart of a family. There have been many menu changes, and in my opinion for the best. There are things I do miss like tortilla soup, and the flour chips. But they do have other items that have been added like the El Jefe burger, a brunch menu, and NFL menu/specials that I like. I also love the drink specials/liquors that have been added. Some examples are… Mastero Dobel tequila, Deep Eddy Vodkas, and infused liquors… There is always something fun going on like bowling night, poker night, with many more. I still believe this is still a great place to come for great/quality food, wonderful atmosphere, and amazing staff.

Don’t waste your money! The service was just okay, nothing special, took a while to get our drink order and food. The food was TERRIBLE! The burritos we ordered were completely COLD, the cheese was not even melted on the inside. Think cold tortilla, chicken and cold cheese. It would have been better if they even just put it in the microwave for 30 seconds… The flavor was bland, no seasoning. So disappointed in the whole experience!

I work close enough to this place to really catch margarita fever everyday around happy hour… or lunch time. The margaritas here are just how I like them: salty, tarte, NOTTOOSWEET, and STROOOOONG. So strong. The food is ok. I love drinking tequila enough to give a place with just ok food a 4 star rating! Also I feel that every time I have eaten there, I have been too many margaritas deep to accurately judge the food. Sorry, not sorry. They charge for chips and salsa which is a pet peeve of mine, but why kill your margarita buzz with chips?

I love Mexican food and have eaten my way around the greater Denver area in search of yummy Mexican food! I love all different styles. I read the review but still thought I would give it a try. I mean how can you really mess it up that much? Well let me tell you… If the best part of your meal is the chips then that is just sad. First of all you have to pay $ 2 for chips and salsa. Hardly ever have a gone to a place that doesn’t have complementary chips. I ordered the chili Renollos the cheap cheese they used had separate inside so it was not creamy at all the beef taco I ordered was horrible with tons of red onion and hardly any beef. The services was not very good either. Maybe this is just a place to drink and eat chips :)

Gross. Disgusting. Yuck. I would give this place no stars if that was an option. I recently discovered this little Lowry area and was pleased to see the nice outdoor seating Salty Rita’s had. So I brought the family back the next day to give it a try. I sure wish I hadn’t. The service was kind of bizarre and wasn’t very friendly. But my main complaint was the disgusting food. All the items seemed to have sat for a long time before they were served. It was like they had prepped everything before and had it sitting under heat lamps all day. The food was just awful. Maybe if you go and just get drinks on the patio it wouldn’t be to bad. But I will never come back here. It was inedible. I can’t say it enough.

We used to love this place! Must have new owners? They no longer make the flour tortilla chips AND they charge you for them!!! $ 2 for chips and salsa and $ 1 for more chips to finish the salsa! They also don’t give you rice and beans with your entrees but charge you for those as well! Maybe they were bought out by Spirit Airlines? Next they will charge you for your choice of seating. The margaritas were not the same as they used to be and made now with a mix, watered down, and weak. We did have the pineapple spicy tacos and they were fantastic, but that was the only food item worth the price. The table behind us was upset about the same exact things. We could hear them complaining to the waitress about being charged for chips and salsa. One person said«Whatever. We won’t be be back.» Agreed.
