Capitol Cigars is a great cigar lounge with a full bar and great selection of cigars. A nice quiet place to relax and regenerate during the day and I can only imagine how fun it would be to start your night out here! Superb service, Cornelius is very friendly, he kept our coffee mug filled and was fun to chat with!

Capitol Cigar’s is hands down the BEST cigar shop in town. This is the only place in town where you can actually enjoy a fine cigar and a refreshing alcoholic beverage. They offer a HUGE selection of cigars and have several experts who are ready to assist. Jimmy is one of the best connoisseurs and highly knowledgeable when it comes to selecting the right cigar to fit your taste.

What a great place to have a fine cigar and catch NFL on a Sunday afternoon. Excellent selection of premium cigars in their walk-in humidor, humidified just right. Jimmy was keeping shop and he was very helpful, personable and funny. I was there about 30 minutes before they opened and he let me in anyhow, that’s great customer service! They play good music and serve alcohol too. I wanted to give this place 4 ½ stars because of their weak selection of mixed drinks, but you can’t give ½ stars so I rounded up. It is mostly straight-up liquor and some beer, which is great but sometimes you want something else. The wood floors, old woodwork and leather chairs give this place a great old-school cigar shop vibe. If you go to Denver, this is a must stop. They allow you to smoke your own but I recommend buying a cigar to help them keep the lights on. The prices are decent and you will not be disappointed in the selection.

One of the two best cigar places in Denver, and pretty centrally located. Staff is knowledgable and friendly and the regulars that come through are interesting as well. Great selection of smokes as well.

My wife and I came in and at first glance, the place was spacious and probably one of the most relaxed atmospheres around, And some of the most knowledgeable guys in the tobacco industry, Whenever I’m in the Colfax area I make it a point to drop in and see Mike and Jimmy really great guys, And a large selection of new cigars

Great place with an excellent selection and very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Louie is the best! Always has great suggestions on what to try. It is a very relaxing environment with enough room to sit and work, read or get in to a raucous game of cards or dominoes and talk some #@$* with the regulars. There is always a great smoke and excekllent conversation to be had at Capital Cigars

If you are in Denver and like cigars, this is the place! I travel all over the US and this cigar shop has one of the best humidors I’ve ever seen! Great atmosphere, nice clientele, and superior smokes. A «must see» establishment!

These guys know their stuff. I’m a self confessed, «I have idea what the hell I’m doing trying to buy cigars» kind of cigar guy. I go in 2 – 4 times/year when I’m getting together with old college friends. Every time they’re super helpful, very friendly and a pleasure to be around. On my last trip the guy complained incessantly about the tobacco taxes in Colorado. I didn’t have the heart to tell him I helped pass those. Ooops.

I really dug this place. Let’s face it, if I am at a comic book store or a cigar bar I am there with(or for) my hubby, so I am not exactly one that expects a lot out of the experience. I go to relax and chat and have a drink and maybe a few puffs on the sweetest cigar I can find. Well check, check, check and check! Capitol Cigars filled all my needs. Its a low key, shop right off Colfax near the Ogden(you can see the Capitol just a few blocks away). It has that smoky dusty, comfortable feeling as you walk in. There is a bar(which had some beers and hard liquor), a nice walk in humidor and then tons of big leather chairs to recline in. Plus walls lined with cigar boxes, which made for fun gazing while puffing on a stogie. Their prices seem great(as far as I know!) and our drinks definitely got the long pour! I mean wow, I think we got 3 fingers + of Crown Royal, which is quite nice. The guy working was friendly and made great recommendations. Plus everyone we encountered was laid back and easy going. It was our kind of place! We will be back!

I’ve got a list of cigar places around town that I still want to visit and Capitol has been on the list for a while. We combined it with a visit to D Bar, which was only a few blocks away, which worked out great. You walk into Capitol and it almost fees like an old timey bar. Creaky wood floors, a little bar area off to the side, old cigar boxes and signs hung up everywhere. The humidor here is massive, with a ton of great cigars in it. Some that I haven’t found anywhere else. We sampled the Rocky Patel and an Arturo Feunte, which is my current favorite. The guy who worked there(manager?) was very helpful. I saw him escort tons of people into the humidor and help them with choosing. I do want to say that I thought their cigars were fairly inexpensive, too. The cigar I chose(Fuente), was only $ 9.99, and I know when I was in vegas I paid at least $ 15 for that one. Nothing in there seemed too overpriced. They’ve recently started serving alcohol, so we ordered some Crown Royal, straight up. It seemed like poured 2 or 3 times more than you get at a normal bar, for a relatively cheap price($ 7). Between the buzz of the cigar and the whiskey, I was feeling no pain. There was a section of guys chatting it up and smoking over in the corner who all seemed to know each other and the proprietor. they obviously spend a lot of time there! And there was a steady flow of foot traffic of people coming and going. They’re definitely on my list to return!

This is far and away my favorite cigar lounge. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and the lounge is comfortable and frequented by many regulars. The regulars here are down to earth, and lack the pretense of some nearby cigar lounges. The wi fi is free and fast, and they now have a liquor license if you prefer something stronger than coffee or soda with your smoke.

I’ll start with the cigars. Good selection. The humidor is deserving of being a called a walk in, unlike other places I’ve visited. On my one and only visit I opted for the newer Gurkha Assassins(the robusto makes a good winter smoke) and a newer CAO product that I can’t recall the name of, once again a good winter smoke in the robusto size. Humidification was on point, but the cellophane on the cigars seemed to be dusty. I’m not sure if the cigars were dusty or what, either way I’ve never seen a walk in with dusty cigars so that’s a reduction in stars off the bat. The coffee bar seems interesting. I’d prefer to drink something stronger with a cigar, but the idea seems good. The lounge area has free wi-fi and is quite large, taking up much of the area in the shop. There’s also a separate room with a big screen TV, so that seems like a promising place to hang out. So my first impression is that this place reminds me of one of my favorite cigar shops back in Maryland, except there weren’t enough friendly gents hanging around(atleast when I visited). Seems like this place has been here for a long time though, so I’m sure it was just a fluke on the afternoon I visited. So I’ll give it 3 stars until I visit again, and get a better impression. Worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood though, and the prices are fair for the record.
