Service was good. Prices are high. I got the pork ramen and it wasn’t like ramen I’ve had at Uncle or other ramen places in Denver. It tasted like an american stew. Not enough broth. It tasted like something you would make in your slow cooker at home. Was it good? Yes, it was a delicious american stew, but I didn’t want stew. I might come back to try the duck ramen, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Finally a place close to where I work that has healthy, delicious, vegan friendly options. The vegetable ramen was awesome! The service is great. I really want to see this place succeed and was concerned that at lunch time(it was 1:30 on a weekday, so I could have missed the rush) there were not many ppl there. Affordable and I got a great lesson on the benefits of Kim Chi.

We love Bubu. The ramen is so fantastic and if you sit at the counter, you can talk to the chef and find out how hard it is to make! I tried the special one night which was pork belly ramen and it was the best I have had. Only drawback is that it does not have much of a kid-menu. And sushi is serviceable. Not a real drawback, because the ramen is so spectacular.

Loved Bubu. Everything from the ambiance to the food to the GM just hanging out and talking to customers was great. He even gave us a little insight into an upcoming remodel to make this place … And the décor is only about a year old! I think everyone at my table ordered ramen of some sort. I’m pretty sure everyone finished every bit, including my grandma. But the consensus top dish was the Brussels sprouts. Crispy, well seasoned, and well portioned. What more can you ask for from the vegetable that everyone used to love to hate but recently has started to love. I would highly recommend Bubu to anyone looking to warm up a bit with a delicious bowl of ramen.

Bubu is where it’s at. In January, I received a TAG email announcing 50% off at Bubu during January. That’s right. The whole month. Day 1 brought the torched salmon roll, pork bowl, and a couple buns. Day 2 brought our Day 1 waiter remembering us and what we ordered, many items from the Happy Hour menu(do the crispy rice), and the chef letting us sample all 5 ramen broths. Day 3 brought more crispy rice, pork ramen, short rib goodness, and their first dessert menu item that we couldn’t eat because we were stuffed. Marks for great and friendly service, going above and beyond, and really great food.

This place was fantastic! Let’s start with the fact that we were the ass holes that walked in with a party of 6, five minutes before they were supposed to close. Nevertheless we were welcomed as if we were the first customers of the night. The food was fantastic. I tried the kimchee salad and the pork buns. Both were so delicious. I had the chick thigh noodle soup with rice noodles and it was super flavorful and the meat was moist and lean. The restaurant environment was trendy and well arranged; we had 6 people, 2 of which were over 6’8″ tall and we all fit into a booth comfortably. I had a great time and will def be back!

We are here on a busy Saturday night, and were lucky enough to be seated at the chef’s counter. Unlike other times in the past when I’ve been seated at a chef’s counter in a restaurant, this chef and his sous chef interacted with us regularly, informing us about ingredients and talking about preparation techniques. For starters, we tried the brussels sprouts and the artichoke hearts. The brussels sprouts were delicious, if a little salty, which was OK for a savory food lover like myself. They were deep fried before being dressed with a lovely thin sauce. The frying provided nice crunchy edges. The serving size was generous enough for about 3 people to share and enjoy a decent portion. The artichoke hearts were creamy and soft, interspersed with five different varieties of mushrooms. It was topped with a lemon garlic aioli sauce. They were very different dishes, and while we had fun trying them both, I think I’m partial to the Brussels sprouts. For mains, we both ate the vegetarian ramen. I should note, my boyfriend asked for his spicy, which they are totally happy to accommodate — but, please note, the regular sauce they add(custom-made, in-house) has fish sauce in it. If you’re a strict vegetarian, you can ask the chef for a spicy version without fish sauce. They were awesome and accommodated our request with no problem. It’s officially my favorite place in all of Denver Metro for veggie ramen! We will definitely be back. One last note — the awesome chef provided us a complimentary bread pudding at the end of our meal. It was so freaking delicious. It has eggs in it(which is fine with me, but not my BF), but it smelled so amazing, with the apples cooked in a bourbon sauce dripping all over this moist-and-delicious-on-its-own slab of cake, he snuck a few bites of just the apples. It was an awesome finish to a nice meal. Thanks, Chef! Oh, also, if you’ve never been to the Lowry AFB area before(and we hadn’t), you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the number of cute restaurants here, including a beer garden. Though I’m not sure if the beer garden is seasonal.

Fast, healthy, you have control over how much protein, vegetables, and carbs you get. It’s a great addition in the middle of all these gyms and a great post workout meal. Huge fan. Will definitely come back.

Part of Hangar 2 at Lowry Bubu has a fun interior with garage doors that open during the summer(or days with highs above 25 as it was this December day). The parking lot is shared with many other businesses so it can be a bit challenging. The service was polite, friendly and attentive even though I was ordering to go. Water is served with cucumber, which adds nice flavor and is different than the traditional lemon. I ordered two bowls: duck Ramen and chicken with brown rice, veggies and red curry sauce. Both were flavorful, filling and enjoyable. There are several vegetarian options and gluten free as well. They do offer a Social hour from 3−6pm including many small bites, wines(one sake option), beer(local CO!) & cocktails. The most expensive drink is $ 6 I hope this Asian fusion restaurant does well.

Restaurant Redemption!!! If you read my review, you will see! This was my third trip to BUBU. My wife forced me to try it again. The food was so good we kept ordering. Worth noting, New Menu, New Chef! The chef even came out to check on how hot my wife wanted her sauce then came BACK out to check on her WOW. The manager also checked twice. Server had just the right amount of attentiveness. Now I feeling guilty about 4

Great service and fresh food. The space was small and there were no tables available but we were able to sit at the counter overlooking the kitchen. The chef personally came to our ‘table’ so we could taste the sauce on one of our orders to make sure he hadn’t made it too hot. That was a nice gesture. I don’t recommend the teriyaki sauce as it was bland but the carrot sauce at a heat level of 7 was delicious!

This was a lovely restaurant with a great patio. The Asian-inspired menu is good enough, but I can’t remember what either of us ate, meaning it was not a memorable meal. However, if I were in the hood, I would certainly go back, the patio was so wonderful!

Came in for the 3rd time tonight. First visit was shortly after they opened. I honestly wish I could give Bubu 5 stars. The first time I came in, we asked what Bubu(the ingredient for the build your own bowls which have since been removed) was, and she told us it was like Chex mix. Regardless of the validity of this statement, it seemed tacky. Maybe I’m pretentious, but I’ve worked in quite a few restaurants and I always had a sound explanation of main ingredients. The rice bowl was good and the ramen was delicious. The 2nd time I came, I got take out. A different person helped me, and although I was only there 2 – 3 minutes, he made me feel welcome. The chicken ramen was amazing. I wasn’t a fan of the bun. It was mostly slaw with just a sliver of meat. Tonight, I came in for take out. The same server helped me as the first time. It was 25 minutes before they closed, but she told me she«had no idea» what the vegetable of the day was– literally the one thing on the menu that changes. How has one of the few servers on the floor worked the entire night without this information? The pork spring rolls are incredible, and I got a salmon bowl with veggies and brown rice(picture is posted). This is a great spot to get take-out if you’re leaving 24-hour and looking for a healthy option. Overall, I really enjoy the concept of Bubu and the food, but one server who is ill-informed and has a bad attitude has ruined 2⁄3 experiences here for me. I realize everyone doesn’t vibe with everyone, but to have consistently bad encounters with the same person is really disappointing. I love Troy Guard’s restaurants, and I really hope that he gets this one on track. It has potential, but needs some serious attention.

Happy hour was indeed happy… We stopped by for a very early dinner during happy hour. I ordered a couple of the appetizers. The Brussel Sprouts were excellent. They were crispy and on a pool of a spicy citrus liquid. The Shrimp Potstickers were yummy as well. They were placed on a layer of carrot purée with a dab of kimchi. Okay, but the best was my husband’s Pork Shoulder Ramen. The broth was how it should be, rich and complex. Now to the happy part besides the food. We enjoyed talking with a couple of the employees who were equally enthusiastic about the quality and taste of the food. We were very pleased with our choice of where to have our early dinner.

I came here during an evening saunter and was excited to try some of their food. My server, Joey, was super friendly and attentive. It seemed clear that folks worked as a team there, as I had lots of folks checking in on me throughout my meal. Joey explained how Bubu is part of the TAG restaurant group. My only other experience with TAG as a recent transplant was the TAG Burger Bar, so I had to do more homework to realize what that meant. I’m glad that TAG has been developing a variety of restaurant concepts to be accessible to a broad range of audiences. I sat at the counter by the kitchen and got to chat with one of the cooks. I’m blanking on the name, but I think his name was Sam or Sean. He was super friendly though and good about explaining what they were cooking. I always find it fun to learn how the food magic happens. The head chef came by as well to ask me how my food was, but I was alas in the throes of full on ramen inhalation, so I think I could only provide a vaguely positive mumble. It was a pretty chill restaurant overall and great for casual dining. Now on to the food! I had the pork shoulder ramen and got to try the fried duck tongues. The duck tongues were very tender and went well with the slaw. I’m not sure it’s something I will order again, but I think folks who like things like duck fat fries or fried pork belly would find the savory richness appealing. In terms of the ramen, it was a pretty big portion. I had lots of good chunks of pork and vegetables. The noodles themselves had a decent chew to them, and the broth had lots of good umami flavor. I appreciated the generous sprinkling of cilantro and scallions, as I find the freshness really helps to make the ramen experience come together. The pickled Fresnos provided a nice counterpoint to the richness of the pork shoulder and broth. I’ve gotten the sense that Fresnos are in these days, but I think I would have preferred something with a slight bit more crunch or maybe bamboo shoots. The cucumber water was really refreshing and helped me reset my taste buds between bites. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Bubu and look forward to coming back some time. It’s right by the Lowry Beer Garden and was a great place to stop for a bite before going for a beer. If you have a small party and like learning about food, I definitely recommend the counter to learn see all the culinary wizardry unfold.

Bubu’s full-on restaurant in Lowry is great! I first became aware of this Asian Fusion bistro in Larimer Square. The menu downtown is more geared towards the lunch crowd. The full restaurant version is totally awesome and expanded in the best way. The crispy tofu app got things started with a crunch. The Quinoa Salad is truly a thing of beauty; Fuji apple, celery and quinoa with a zesty, hot, light dressing. I’ve also had the ramen bowls here as well as the miso soup. The miso soup has more complexity and texture than most miso soups, and the use of quinoa is again innovative. The chicken thigh ramen bowl is a wonder of flavorful taste explosions. The service here has always been very good. They seem to understand the concept that patrons don’t really care if «you’re not in my section…», patrons just want a good experience from beginning to end. Multiple times I’ve had more than one server, busser, manager or runner attend to an issue that was not in their purview with grace and charm. Interior design at Bubu is a function of the limited space, but community tables, booths, a roll-up door to patio seating, and a small bar seating area make up in diversity what could be lost in sheer volume. Clean, white and organic looking materials adorn a post-modern new building right next door to Hangar 2 in Lowry.

Ok I lunched here again because I’m addicted and made my husband meet me for happy hour. I was sad that the bowls you build weren’t avail after 3. The happy hour was great though. Delicious drinks and the duck confit buns were UHmazing. One HUGE disappointment was the salmon«poke». I get the raw salmon each time I’ve had lunch there. The poke was seared. So gross. For $ 12, I want sushi grade salmon, raw. The waiter gave me a delicious cookie from Sugarmill though, so I forgive. Troy Guard even made an appearance which was pretty cool. Sir, make the poke raw as it should be! Oh and since you own Sugarmill, have some actual desserts!

My boyfriend and I came here the other day for lunch. It was our first time. We wanted to try it because it was close to home and a picture on a friend’s instagram made it look appetizing. We came during late lunch/early dinner in which we were told that the chef was not ready to serve dinner. We were okay with that. We also happen to be the only customers at the time(later, was told it gets busy at five). We ended up ordering the shrimp quinoa potstickers, pork shoulder ramen bowl, and the Thai bubu rice bowl. My boyfriend also ordered lemonade which he loved because it reminded him of fresh-squeezed lemonade that you can get at the carnivals. The shrimp potstickers were one of the better potstickers I have had. It was fresh, not frozen. However, it did not come with a traditional potsticker dipping sauce; instead, the potstickers were laid on top of a carrot purée and came with a side of kimchi. I was not a fan of the the kimchi. It tasted over fermented, but the carrot purée was great. I actually used that to dip the potstickers in. My boyfriend’s thai bubu rice bowl did not actually come with bubu. We were told bubu is an expensive Asian grain that had no taste, but was used for decoration. Nonetheless, his bowl was very tasty. He chose a brown rice base and grilled chicken as his protein. The thai bowl itself came with green papaya slaw, shallots, peanuts, thai dressing and my favorite wonton crisps. His bowl was definitely a healthy alternative. Mine, however, was not as healthy. I had the pork shoulder ramen and I am so glad they are generous with their meat portion compared to other places. The ramen was actual ramen!!! Not the individual package type you buy at the store and cook with boiling water. It was perfect and had a lot of flavors. I especially enjoyed the shiitake mushroom and the sweet thai peppers. The ramen was a little greasy due to the pork shoulder, but good nonetheless. Overall, we did really enjoyed our experience. Our waitress was super friendly and made enjoyable conversation with us. The place was modern and chic. We loved the healthy spin to Asian cuisine.

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I went for a weekday lunch and was craving a soup. The staff was attentive and friendly. I was sat down right away with menus and water. I went for the veggie ramen. It did take some time, but I had extra time to use. It came out looking wonderful. The veggies were bright and it was a large portion. I took a bite and it was ok. I continued and there wasn’t any flavor from anything. I couldn’t taste the broth or the veggies. I’m not sure if the veggies were overcooked and how the broth is seasoned. This is not the place to go for ramen. People near me ordered rice dishes, maybe that’s what I should’ve ordered?

Went here a few nights ago. Ordered a ton of food to share with my boyfriend and friend. Can I just say my tummy was a happy camper by the end of the night? Pretty sure I’ll be a regular here! Please try their buns, it’s one of my faves– especially the duck confit buns. Mannnn I love those buns haha. Their bubu crispy rice is fantastic as well. We also tried their salmon rice bowl with curry and chicken thigh ramen. The curry was good and we got to select brown rice, and their ramen was their version of a healthy ramen so don’t come expecting authentic Japanese ramen. It was still delicious though and the thought of the food being prepared healthy made me a little less guilty about eating so much haha.
