I can’t remember a more unappealing experience at a restaurant. Ordered the fire roasted Brussel sprouts(mushy, and underwhelming), a chop salad(aka pile of lettuce) and the Rocket pizza. All in all, the place was overly priced(around $ 36 between the two of us without drinks) and the fact that you have to cut your own pizza with scissors wasn’t trendy, it just felt forced. The waitstaff was the one nicety this establishment offers. We ended up eating at the pub next door after. My suggestion: eat before you come and only stop by for drinks until management can sort out its menu.

Great pizza and service. Was here on a Sunday afternoon so not sure how it is during movie night or live music, but a good time was had by all today.

The environment, hospitality, and food are spot-on. I had so much fun meeting the other guests in the lounge area and made some new friends. I had the Fun Guy pizza and added the truffle oil. It was cheesy and yummy. The wine by the glass list has good go-to options, but as is typical in wine bars, the better offerings are by the bottle. Service is a bit rough around the edges but the staff works to make it right. I will definitely be back for the terrific food, excellent company, and friendly staff.

Ok. Lets be frank. Colfax has been coming up with some really decent places to eat. But when I stepped into Brik I noticed something different. I was instantly greeted by the staff. And pointed in the right direction as of what I really wanted… Pizza. The pies at this place are unreal. Super fresh ingredients and the best flavor combos on there house pies. I felt like my brain designed the menu. There specials are very reasonable. And I would, and have suggested for many of my friends to go there. Support local talent. Eat here!!! Because I know I will be back . Many times.

I had the Carne, and it was one of the VERYBEST pies I’ve ever eaten. The ingredients are the best! I had ordered the pizza as a carryout, but when I saw and smelled the pie, I HAD to sit down right there and eat it. This was my first time visiting Brik, and I enjoyed the casual(not stuffy), friendly atmosphere. It was easy to feel at home there. That’s really a unique find in a restaurant: excellent food, comfortable surroundings, and friendly staff. This place is a keeper! I will be back!

This place could be a hit, with a few tweaks. Stumbled in for lunch and was told to sit anywhere. We bellied up to the bar and were given waters promptly. Ordered some adult beverages and deviled eggs as well as a pie to split. The pizza was delish. They give you scissors to cut the pie yourself, so that is interesting. They are available in one size and it was enough to split with my main man and have a couple slices left over. Very tasty. The menu could use a few more items and there could be more local beer options on draft. But, it is new and just taking off. Also, we went for lunch. Maybe they have a larger menu at night? The issue is that this joint is obviously designed for live music, casual dining, drinking & socializing. But, there is only music late in the evening. Throw a musician with a guitar, theramin, harmonica, whatever on ‘stage’ during the earlier hours with a tip jar and this place will be amazing! There is a wealth of talented musicians willing to work for tips and lunch. I would’ve pitched a few bucks for a live music experience! It would kick this place up a couple of notches for certain! Since I wasn’t there for a music performance, I can’t speak to the acoustics or noise level. But, several other spots in town employ a daytime musician at least on the weekends and I highly suggest this business follow suit. As of now, I hesitate to return or recommend this joint. But, it’s new-ish and could potentially be ridiculous awesome.

Checked out the Open Mic night and had excellent service. We’ve frequented several live music venues and have never had such pleasant staff! All staff members smiled and offered water, as the night we were there, it was packed! So until they could get to everyone, they at least got water on the tables. Did not have food tonight, but the VIBE is soooo incredible. Check it out. Perfect set up for live music on Colfax

I have been to Brik half a dozen times over the past month. I work nearby, and it love stopping in for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunches when I’m in the neighborhood for rehearsals. As a musician, I love that they support local musicians. As a foodie, I love that they have farm to table ingredients, European(Neapolitan) style pizza, and incredible wine list. I have tried the carne-copia, alley cat, and several other pizzas. They are all delicious. Today, I had made to order eggs and hash browns. They were absolutely incredible. Travis is awesome, and I love his passion for fine dining, wine, and music.

Great night at Brik! Awesome musician Ryan flick played tonight. Pizza was on point. My boyfriend who doesn’t even like pizza usually said it was great too! Shared the fun guy– truffle mushroom and pecorino — yum! Great crust! And the Nutella pizza– it’s like the best chocolate croissant you have ever had. Some nice wine as well.

Short version of the review: Brik is a nicely decorated, mildly loud, too expensive and slightly disappointing meal. Long version: my wife and I got to go to Brik today for the first time in a couple of months. The restaurant is closed on Monday which is pretty much the only day off my wife and I get together, so we’d been waiting to go for months before we actually went. It was a sleepy, rainy Tuesday today, so there wasn’t really much action in the restaurant itself, which is fine by me. The décor is very pretty — dark woods, jazzy soundtrack playing just a notch too loud, the open kitchen inviting the scent of fired wood. It’s a well dressed up little pizzeria. We got to our table and were seated by the hostess, who took her time explaining all the facets of the wine, happy hour and dinner menus. She left us to our internal deliberations for a while, only to return and say, somewhat apologetically, «I guess I’m your waitress now.» Poor girl… We ordered drinks, waited on them just a bit, and then were introduced to who I guess turned out to be our actual server bringing wine and cocktails. The problem was, I ordered their house rose and ended up with the house red. Honest mistake, and I wasn’t going to cause a ruckus. I ordered the Diablo pizza and my wife ordered the buffalo white pizza. Waiting what seemed a little too long considering how«fast» they claimed their pizzas are, we got our pizzas. My Diablo was *overloaded* with toppings, with the exception of cheese. The flavor was fine, but as a cohesive pizza it was a mishmash of peppers and bacon in a way that made it difficult and not altogether enjoyable to eat. My wife’s pizza had so much cheese as to make the center completely soggy and impossible to eat without an instrument to do so. All in all, the pizzas themselves were only average, and for the 15+ dollar price tag per pizza, seemed a bit steep. It was at this point I would’ve probably erred on the side of 2 stars, but my wife is a pastry chef, so we ordered their chocolate tasting. It turned out to be quite an interesting little piece! Not the most refined dessert in the world, but who cares? Chocolate tapioca, dipped strawberries, a small truffle, chocolate mousse and a nicely textured little flourless chocolate cake. It turned out to be a lovely finish to a subpar meal. As I said before, I probably would have given two stars for this meal, but the kind service staff and dessert gleaned them an extra star. I might have been tempted to give four stars had I not spent 80 dollars on the meal as well.

Honestly not sure why Brik has any bad reviews. Everything we had was great! We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. They have a pretty extensive wine list that is broken down by region(and sub-region, which is cool). The charcuterie platter came with spiced nuts that I wish I could eat a giant bowl of. They were soo good. The quince paste was also good — it’s nice to see a charcuterie plate come with a variety of side items. Their meatballs were amazing! Probably the highlight of the meal. They had that perfect crust on the outside that you look for in a good meatball. I would definitely recommend those. We got the Diavola pizza — I love spicy food and it definitely had a kick to it. It had a ton of toppings, the highlight of which was the TenderBelly habanero bacon. Seriously if you’ve never had TenderBelly bacon, run out and get some immediately. It’s the best bacon out there. Anyways the pizza was delicious, as was everything else! Pizza and wine are pretty much my 2 loves in life, so I’m looking forward to trying out some more of their pizzas.

I wish I could like Brik, but unfortunately for me it just fell short. The one thing I will give it is that the crust was VERY good, since it was made in a fire oven and all. Gave it that perfectly chewy and light interior with that fire-kissed crispy exterior. Now, the rest of the pizza, not so great. There was too much crust and not enough topping. I’d say about 1⁄3 of the slice of pizza was crust only, which left much to be desired of the toppings. A group of 6 of us ordered 3 pizzas to share, so we got a good sampling I think. In general, the toppings really lacked flavor possibly because they were so sparse. Ordered the funghi, diavola, and one other with sausage. The diavola had the most flavor if I had to tell you which. The rest of my table liked it, but I personally thought it just tasted mostly of hot sauce which I was not a fan of. I don’t like eating something that just tastes like bread and hot sauce. It was overpowering and somehow still lacked any substantial flavor. And that brings me to the cost. I thought it was pricey for what we got, given that most of it was basically bread. I know it was a specialty pizza, but that alone doesn’t justify the cost. Most are $ 15 – 16 a pizza, but I think for what it was, should have been more in the $ 12 range. The space itself is cool. They have old movies playing on the screen and games around to play with. I think they just need to work on their actual product, the pizza. If something changes drastically with that, I would give it another chance.

Fantastic food, wine, layout & location! I dropped in for the Open Screen Night they host once a month and completely fell in love with this place. The wine list is great. There is a great variety of prices, regions and varietals. Some girlfriends and I took turns buying bottles for the table and got to try some great reds. There was an Argentine Malbec for ~$ 30 that was especially tasty. The food is wonderful. The caprese salad with heaping spoonfuls of pesto on top was delicious. They do a roasted artichoke that is amazing. And, don’t question it, just order both the nutella pizza and wine sundae and combine the two for a truly awesome dessert. I love that this place is just blocks away from the SIE Film Center. There will be much pre-gaming at The Brik before the Films on Tap, there. I will definitely be a regular. Just try and get rid of me, Travis ;)

Great wine selection and the food looked yummy. We did order dessert — which was fabulous by the way. The Wine Sunday and Nutella Pizza were great — and even better when combined! They were close to full capacity with only one server on, I think that was because they just opened, so service was a bit slow. However she was very knowledgeable about the wines and their various options. This is a great place and I’m looking forward to going back.

Having a passion for Neapolitan Pizza I have been eagerly awaiting to try Brik On York. I must say the experience was worth the wait. We were with a large party of friends and ordered a variety of pizzas, wine and desserts. All of which were delicious. Love the staff, service, ambiance and over all experience. Definitely a great place to re-visit!

I really wanted to be excited about this place but unfortunately that was not the case after going there for the first time last night. My friend and I have driven past it a few times being that we live in the neighborhood so last night we decided to check it out for dinner. We were able to park right out front(metered but not on Sunday of course) and walked in to a very cool spot. It’s just a neat place and I was excited to be there. Then we waited. And waited. There was no hostess at the stand. Finally, the bartender came by and seated us. And then we waited. And waited. Finally, after about 10 – 15 minutes our server finally made it to our table. She was very apologetic and nice but I was hungry and thirsty and honestly, we were contemplating where else we could go eat at that point. They were just not properly staffed for the full restaurant they were dealing with — the bartender and two servers made up the staff on the floor. Just not enough or they need to get better systems in place. We ordered the meatballs for the appetizer and they were very good. We decided to order two pizzas — the Bianca and Verdura. I wish I could say that the pizzas were as good as the meatballs but this was not the case. Mine was burnt. I have had a LOT of wood-fired pizzas in my life and I know that there can be some darkening of the crust but one entire side was black and so was the entire bottom. My friend got the Verdura which is described as having«lemon slices» and honestly, when I took a bite lemon was ALL I could taste. I did not care for it at all. I thought there was a lemon sauce on it — it was overpowering. Hers, however, was not burnt, just mine. Then, when we thought the night just could NOT get better, the music stopped and The Big Lebowski started playing directly across from our table on a projection screen. WTH? If I wanted to watch a movie and not engage in conversation, I would have just stayed home. It was ridiculous and loud and a bit inappropriate for the kids that were in there. I have no idea why they were showing that but we were pretty much over this place by then and we have no intention of returning. There is a lot of potential here and I hope they make it but right now I would say they are struggling.

I don’t want to be too hard on a place that just opened but Brik needs to do some work to make it in this city of excellent restaurants. Happy Hour is until 630PM and is lackluster. The only food options are deviled eggs and meatballs and the only drink options are $ 6 daquiris??? why?, $ 5 glasses of house wine and $ 5 wells. MYADVICE?: put your extremely expensive build your own charcuterie plate on Happy Hour special. At least Half price. This will get me coming back and get people in the door. They have an interesting concept. No fryers. Everything is cooked in their brick ovens and a lot seems really homemade. Now lets get down to what we ate. My bestie and I each ordered a pizza(personal sized…$ 16.00…) and we ordered the«caprese salad to share» Caprese«Salad» = a hunk of homemade(delicious delicious) mozzarella cheese on top of some blanched tomatoes(like one) with sprinkles(and I mean tiny sprinkles) of basil on top. Seriously this $ 9.00 «salad» was 2 bites. Not cool. It tasted amazing but should have been $ 3.00 for that size. I ordered the Fra Diavolo pizza because I LOVE spicy and I saw it had Tender Belly Habanero bacon! Yum! It really was a very good pizza. The toppings were excellent, the crust is the right amount of crunchy and chewy and overall was a good experience. Buuuuuut it was $ 16.00 and I feel like I was still pretty mad about the caprese and the cost of the charcuterie. Overall: Good ingredients, good flavor, nice ambiance inside but nothing grabs you and the prices/size of some items turn you off. IF they want to make it I think having a Happy Hour above and beyond the rest with INSANE deals on charcuterie with their yummy wines will help them. I’ll go back and try again if cheese and meat and fixings go on special. Oh and the soap in the bathroom smells amazing.

Although it was the first night, the service was swift, attentions, and the food… I have never had such a delight in my mouth as their pizza! For dessert, do not leave without trying the simple but deliciously rich and delicious Nutela Pizza!(Be prepared to take the test home, it’s huge and to die for!)

There’s a new Neapolitan pizza joint in town and they are on Colfax. –service was good. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the wine menu as she had it memorized. There was no physical wine list on the table. My girlfriend did not like not being able to look over a list, but I think having a waitress who can ask what you like and bring you some to taste speaks volumes. –the bathroom could use some final touches and I’m sure if I looked hard enough the dining room as well. When I use the bathroom I don’t like seeing electrical sockets hanging out, plungers and scrub brushes in the open. Spend some money and get a cabinet that looks nice to store that in. The food: — deviled eggs seemed like a weird thing for the menu. They were good, but nothing fancy about them. Something you’d find at a potluck. –meatballs were not very good at all. My thought is if you’re going to put something on your menu make it great. These were not tender nor juicy. Very bland. –pizza was fantastic. It saved the meal. We had the Bianca and it was really great. The Italian sausage was great and the truffle oil complimented the pizza well. –we had to cut our own pizza. Which I am fully capable of. I just find it odd. I get the idea of spreading the culture, but this is America. Just cut my pizza for me. I really love new businesses and want them to succeed, but Brik needs to tighten up their small plates and finish the final details on the building. Also, some better beers on tap as well. I rejected the sour I tasted. Not a big deal, but you’d think they’d ask what I didn’t like about the sour and what I do like to get an idea of what patrons have a taste for. The local Prost Dunkel was good as always…
