Only experienced this location during UMS. Bouncer — very ininterested, bar tenders — no friendly, just matter of fact. Temperature — beyond hot — it was july and there was absolutely no air conditioning. The stage — well there wasn’t one, so i think mainly its for dancing and a dj. Sounds like it might be more appealing on salsa night, but not sure we’ll make the trip.

Poor customer service. Make sure they give you the right debit card back and not give yours to someone else. Always ask for a reciept and get names of staff if they help you with a negative interaction. Use to love the atmosphere here and the dancing venue but poor I teraction with management and others made it horrible.

Happy Hour is the best! It is my go to spot for happy hour on Broadway. It should be yours too! Go there and turn up with drinks and tacos!!!

My opinion is solely based on it as a UMS music venue. As such, AC isn’t a bad thing, don’t be afraid of it. It’s a club, a dance club i assume. It’s probably great at that, I can’t really say. As a music venue it’s meh, at least in July.

Wow! That was fun! What drew me in was the Latin music. What kept us there all night — was the unpretentious atmosphere, drinks, friendly people, and dancing! I loved that it was not just Latin/Hispanics enjoying and getting down on the dance floor.

I posted a review before, but I don’t think it actually went up. This place has a great dance floor, and the drink specials are worth it, plus no cover.

I’ve only been here during happy hour, which is 2−4−1! This place isn’t your typical south Broadway bar, but the drinks were good and cheap. It was totally empty, which is one of the reasons why we went in and offered a great happy hour. The music was alright and we sat at the bar. We were just there for drinks but the bartender offered to stamp out wrists so that we could come back later that night and avoid paying the cover, which I thought was super nice. We didn’t end up going back, but it’s an option if you want to grab a happy hour drink, have dinner somewhere else and come back to dance. I’d give it more stars but it just was a weird atmosphere, maybe because it was so empty?

I wonder if some of the people writing the one star reviews below were even at the same bar we were at. We had a blast at this place. Went on a Fri night. Ambiance was decidedly hip and Latin. They played salsa /mambo style music most of the night, not club beats. Crowd was fun, lots of people were up dancing. Door staff were courteous and warm, service was great, and drinks were strong. We ordered up a couple of Manhattans, which were well made. Didn’t see or smell any pepper spray.

With so many great qualities, It’s next to impossible to narrow down what sticks out most in my mind as, for the lack of a better word, my draw to this fine establishment. I am especially drawn to(Amanda) the brunette bartender’s warm & inviting demeanor… awsome drink specials as well as a phenomenal happy hour! For my money, this is the place to be on South Broadway!

First time I’ve been pepper sprayed. By Denver Police, no less. Was next door with plenty of other people when we got locked in because of a ‘situation’ happening at Blue Ice. Cops everywhere, everyone coughing and sneezing like crazy because they had to pepper spray the massive ruckus crowd there. CLOSETHISPLACEDOWN.

This place is fun and great for people watching, I love just stopping in and seeing what the theme is that night. I love(blonde) Michelle. She is amazing, and a great bartender. She’s seriously super cool.

I had a surprisingly good time here. Reading the Unilocal reviews made this place seem sketch along with my past experiences walking by this place on a Friday/Saturday night. My friends got this place to host a swing dance with two days notice. The organizers misinformed a DJ when they’d start, so the manager accommodated us and ran a Pandora channel for the first 30 minutes. They have a nice dance floor. They have generous beer pours — too generous for me. Anyway, I found the place quite nice — good atmosphere, many seating options for various sized groups.

Had a drink here once. Then I moved to Broadway. Before I moved, this was certainly not my favorite spot. Now that I live on Broadway? I wish this place would go to hell. Blaring music with outdoor speakers from your«club» after 2:00AM on a Sunday is absurd. Also, try keeping your patrons from causing raucous after close. I’m so sick of hearing screams &30-inch subs blasting 2Chainz on a f*cking week night. It’s obvious I have a personal vendetta with Blue Ice. But if you’re someone who enjoys South Broadway bars, I can honestly say this place isn’t worth more than a star for you either. Try something a little less frightening; Badger’s on Broadway has more class than this place for God’s sake. Sorry I’m not sorry, Blue Ice. You’re in the wrong neighborhood.

This is getting three stars for one simple reason: While it’s definitely not my kind of place, it wasn’t bad. Bartender let us in without a cover, but we hated the music, found the clientele irritating, had a little fun people-watching as everyone danced, got hit by handbags for 15 minutes as girls paraded back and forth to the bathroom, had a beer, then we left. Loud thumping jams, cheap beer, lots of dancing. Not my kind of joint, but it’s A-OK.
