I don’t get the negative reviews. If you want the world’s greatest beer selection, walk another few blocks down to Argonaut. This is a corner liquor store with above average selection and fair prices.

Just a regular corner liquor store. The guy at the counter is really nice. I live in the area so it’s just convenient. The only downside is it seems the fridges don’t keep the beer cold enough!

Be aware: if you come in here and ask for a specific item and you’re pointed in the general direction, do NOT dawdle. Do not pass«Go.» Do not collect $ 200*. Get your item — otherwise the intimidating guy running the place will start yelling at you like you are a blind fool(I mean, you are, let’s just get real for a minute, but it is nice to pretend that it isn’t so apparent every once in awhile). Pay and get out of there. Don’t waste time putting your winter apparel back on(even if it’s a blizzard out there). Seriously, just go away. Pro-tip: the booze tastes better when you know you almost died to get it. — - — - - * That would be robbery anyway, guys.

This place serves it’s purpose. A quick stop, walking distance to my place that stocks the basic booze essentials. Nothing too fancy or rare or expensive for that matter. But they have an ok selection of Colorado brews and the prices are decent. Not the friendliest staff in the world, but then, if I worked in a liqour store on east Colfax I can’t say I’d be Sally Sunshine either.

Despite this being my neighborhood liquor store, I always feel like it’s a set for some seedy cop movie, and that the $#*! is going to go down any minute. Still, it IS convenient, so I stop in from time to time. They’re open until midnight, which is helpful when you need a last minute adult beverage for guests, or to finish off what you started at dinner. The prices are higher than some of the bigger, nicer liquor stores within a mile radius, but not so much that it’s always worth the extra travel. The staff has always been helpful to me, though a little standoffish. I’m sure being in business on Colfax helps manifest and nurture such a demeanor though. They always have what I need in a pinch, including my favorite table wine, so I can’t complain. Every time I get out of there without being mugged, I feel like I’ve won at life. I win!
