I was visiting the Dallas/Denton area for the weekend with some family. As we were walking down the street we saw Wine Squared and, being huge fans of wine, immediately went inside. We walked up to the counter and checked out the menu and we all made our selections. Then we made our way to the outdoor patio in the back and waited for our wine to arrive. I ordered a flight of 3 dry reds: a Bordeaux, a Cabernet, and a Syrah. Others in our party ordered a flight of whites and a flight of sweet wines($ 15 per flight). They also have beer if wine isn’t your thing. The young man that was working was excellent at making suggestions and coming up with flights of sweet wines for those in our group that weren’t sure what they liked. The wines were delicious and I could tell they were of a higher quality than the $ 10 bottles I purchase for myself at home. Definitely worth the money we paid for them.

Love this place! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Atmosphere is fantastic. Wine2 offers live music several nights a week. Brunch is served last Sunday of the month and is an absolute must.

We greatly enjoyed our visit here and will definitely be back. Denton has so many bars that it’s nice to have a wine bar to visit. The store itself is really cool. You feel like you are not in Denton anymore, but some small town in wine country. They have a beautiful patio to sit and enjoy your vino. Our bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful. He helped us narrow down our choices and then sample before we made our decisions. My favorite was a merlot. They also do a brunch one time a month that we are definitely going to try. We heard that the owner is a sommelier and a chef so would love to meet her some time. You definitely need to check out this quaint little place on the Denton square. We will definitely be back and devour some more delicious wine.

The atmosphere is adorable! Great selection of wine, the snacks are good and the staff is knowledgeable. They have board games if you’re interested, or the patio is quaint and relaxing. Overall, it’s really a nice place, can’t wait to try their brunch sometime!

Staff was very attentive and helpful without hovering, and the young man new right off the bat if they had what I was seeking; an Argentinian Malbec. They did, and I ended up finding a new favorite brand; Ruta 22. Nice, peaceful atmosphere, even though my book club and I were a bit on the rowdy side toward the end of our bottles. I live in Bedford, but my best gals live in Denton. I will definitely be back(If they let me back in, that is).

Cool evening. A bit wet. But patio is perfect. And J and J’s will deliver a pizza. And the wine is divine. Service can’t be beat. Usually not too crazy-busy. One of our faves.

This place was really nice. I loved the smoked Gouda. The wine was delicious as well. The service was the only thing that was a little confusing. Three different servers came to our table to help us but they were all helpful so I guess the job got done. They were really busy so I won’t knock them for it.

Top shelf wine, service, and ambience in the heart of Denton’s Courthouse Square! Doug is an amiable wonder of wine recommendations. Do not miss their new back patio, perfect for leisurely sipping, nor their wonderful«bottle and a blanket» service for sprawling out on the gorgeous Courthouse lawn! THE one-stop shop for connoisseurs and novices alike!

I had the pleasure of visiting Denton, TX a week or so ago and went to wine squared with a colleague — we had a GREAT time! When we sat down they asked if we were there for the wine tasting… I was going to lie and just say yes :) but decided to ask if we could be and they graciously obliged! We tried several wines from the Bordeaux region and enjoyed all of them as well as the descriptions. We had a cheese/meat/pesto plate and it was yummy too. Such a cute town and restaurant! Thanks for the TX hospitality and charm.

This is a great little wine bar in Denton! My friends and I stopped by before dinner for a glass of wine. If you like sweeter wines, their Moscato with peach nectar is divine! We also snacked on some pesto and crackers… which I could not get enough of! The pesto was fantastic, and there were plenty of crackers to accompany it. We met the owner, who was very warm and friendly, and simply added to our great experience.

It’s clear, I love this place. I enjoy the atmosphere of the space and casual nature of the staff here. My wife and I regularly come through, to learn and spend time together or with friends. This spot is perfect for that. The wine selection is very nice and if you feel a little hungry, order a cheese plate, or enjoy a bite from a local eatery. The tastings are always a great chance to try something new and if you want to learn more about wine, take a class. This is a great place and if you come here they will take great care of you. Such a funky and amazing place to kick back and enjoy some delicious wine.

My first Unilocal review because I’ve spent more time here than any Denton watering hole. There’s music when you want music, enough atmosphere to talk when you want to talk, and, hands-down, Denton’s most interesting collection of artists, writers, travelers, musicians, and other eclectics — from townies to academics to metal band bass players to Denton oldheads. Brook knows wine and is generous with what she’s learned. Also some great beers when you’re in the mood, and the location on the square is the heart of the town’s people-watching as that space becomes more of a pedestrian mall. Three cheers for W2!

Pretty great little wine shop with an awesome beer selection too, good for getting booze to carry around the square during various events and happenings! Such as wassailfest!

I came here one night last week to celebrate finishing my finals week and I really enjoyed my time here. My roommate and a friend of ours came here because they stay open until midnight on Thursdays, we couldn’t decide on what to get so we were recommend on a bottle of prosecco that was really nice, it was sweet but not overbearingly sweet. I can handle to really overbearingly sweet stuff(yum) but my roommate and our friend weren’t to keen on that so this was a nice combination for everyone. What was really nice about this place, was the owner told us after our tour that if we wanted to we could take a blanket out to the square and relax and drink our wine by the trees. And it was a niiice night that evening so thats what we wound up doing. The owner of this establishment is really nice and really interesting in helping find the right wine for them to drink before they settle on a decision.

It’s a little hole in the wall on the north side of the square in downtown Denton. Blink and you’ll miss it At night, it’s even easier to miss since the north side of the square seems to always be dark. Still, it’s well worth the search. Actually, I’ve debated about whether to write this review for a long time. You know how the song goes, «You call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye.» Still, it’s too good not to share. For me this is, hands down, the best wine bar in Denton. Of course, the competition isn’t very stiff. So, I’ll up the ante. It is one of the best wine bars in Dallas and, for that matter, in Texas. There is an eclectic assortment of art on the walls, as well as posters for local art, culture and charity events. The furniture ranges from OK to shabby chic. But, you’re not there to see or be seen. You’re there, at least at first, for the great selection of beer and wine. It’s a quiet place with about 9 tables and a bar with about 8 more seats. Sometimes it’s less quiet when they bring in live musicians. I’ve enjoyed the musicians a lot, but they do make it hard to talk. Talk? Yes, like in an English pub, people talk. I don’t think there’s been a time I’ve gone there where I didn’t meet someone interesting and have a great conversation. People from all walks of life walk are there, and that makes things more interesting. The wine, and beer, selection is constantly changing and has always been delightful. Brook, Andrew and their staff give great advice. Since they don’t have a kitchen, their food offerings are limited, but they have great cheese platters as well as the phone numbers of local restaurants that deliver. They also have very special events. Wednesdays are usually a wine class, Thursdays are the«Boss tasting» where the boss opens some great wines at great prices. Beyond the wine and beer, the real genius of this place is it’s a great place to hang out. You should look it up. It’s worth the search. Really.

Refreshing! It was so nice to find a cozy little spot off of the the square to enjoy some wine. They offer a great variety of wines for any budget along with a good selection of beers and ales I saw written on the wall. The service was good and knowledgeable. When I asked for a spicy red, I got a Cabernet from South Africa that was spot on. Another plus is cheese plates, breads served with olive oils or pesto, and I believe on Thursday nights they have live music. So if you want a break from the bars, a place to sit and enjoy your friends or even a good book; Wine2 is the place!

Great wine bar on the square in downtown Denton. The place is clean and presents well. Looked like most of the art work was done by local artisans, abstract. The pours are generous and you will probably find more off the beaten path selections to choose from. Which is a nice way to possibly find your next favorite wine! The staff was very helpful in making a choice based on our taste preferences. The background music was at the perfect level so that my date and I could carry on a conversation without any trouble hearing each other. This place made a great interum stop after dinner for a glass of wine and some good conversation before we were off to enjoy the rest of the evening.

I have regularly been going to Wine2 for about four years now. I love this place. Great wine, great beer, great snacks. The staff is friendly and they know their subject matter well. The patrons are as wonderful as the staff. It is the kind of bar you can go to with friends or alone and have a very enjoyable evening!

Time to do an update, since last time I reviewed this place was back in 2008. Still loved this place. The staff were all friendly and fun to talk to, the wine options are unique as always, and the atmosphere is as bohemian as you could get in Denton.

ABSOLUTELYLOVEDTHISPLACE! A group of friends decided to go hang out on the square and have a chill night of catch phrase and drinking. I decided to check out Wine2, the gentleman behind the counter was very helpful and knowledgable. The prices aren’t bad either!

I have mixed feelings about this wine bar. The customer service was good, helpful, and friendly. They had a nice selection of wine by the glass. The only thing that brings my rating down is the décor. It is very drab and generic. The chairs are very uncomfortable. I would work on the interior design to make it a little bit more hip.

I really love this place. I’ve been there a handful of times and have always enjoyed my glasses. The staff is super friendly(especially for some of the members of my crowd that have already been well-toasted upon arrival), as well as the owner. One night when she brought out our cheese she talked to us about it for a bit and told us the best way to eat it. That being said, she really knows her stuff. The cheese was great too – I always try to remember to come by more often and do the glass of wine + appetizer for a light dinner, but hardly remember to do so. I hope to more often this summer and take advantage of such a neat little place.
