No one here ever seems like they wanna actually wait on your table. It’s the strangest thing. The food isn’t bad. It’s a good value. I never finish all of it. It’s a shame they aren’t a bit happier to be there. Not sure we will be stop again, after the first few times I have dismissed the idea that they were just having an off day. Who knows.

Great food friendly service. Breakfast served all day. Homemade soups and dinners. Old fashion homemade chicken and dumplings.

I went to this restaurant once while my road trip. We had one of their diner special which was so delicious. The waitress who served us was friendly. They have fair prices for quality food and nice bar.

Great food and friendly staff. Do not go anywhere else around salisbury and delmar. Cause the food is amazing. When I lived in delmar, Delmar diner was my fav restaurant both for breakfast and diner. I highly recommend this restaurant for those who want to get quality food for reasonable price.

Ordered an omelette, home fries, pancakes, and sausage, nothing stood out to be great or even good, the home fries were disgusting, greasy, and had a weird taste, the pancakes were so tough that we had difficulty cutting them, then at first bite we realized that they also had zero flavor, some how after adding butter and syrup, the pancakes were able to extract the flavors of them and disgard those as well. Definitely not a recommendation other than I recommend to stay away.

One word… RACISM!!! I’m blonde light skinned and my husband is dark brown with a mixed baby. Came with friends out of town one who is white and the other is spanish we were sat, 4 waitresses helped everyone around us and we we’re looked at multiple times but noone even offered even water!!! I’m not one who complains about race but holy smokes I’ve never experienced such a feeling! This place doesn’t even deserve the star! Oh and why did the white mom with a half black child have to get up and get her own crayons for her kid?!

Reasonable prices, good food, quick and friendly service… what more could you want. I had the Reuben melt. It was enough for 2 people but I ate it all!

Very low quality of cleanliness. You can find piles of bugs in the windows, and gunk is apparent on the floors. The food is sub standard, but is matched by the low prices. The owners take any comments as insults, and the waitresses can often be found outside taking smoke breaks by the front door instead of actually serving their customers.

Another stop on the road between Philly and Newport News is the Delmar Diner in its namesake town just across the Delaware border in Maryland. When we pulled in after our first three hours on the road, the place had a few folks eating a late lunch, although the Happy Hour started at 3 and went to 7. We sat at a booth facing Rt. 13, across from the bar. It was clean and the owners/staff friendly and helpful. We wanted just enough to tide us over until we reached our destinations in another 3 hours where we knew dinner was waiting. My son ordered the Italian Hoagie, and I the Texas Burger(medium). Both arrived in a reasonably short time. The hoagie had amply slices of Ham, Salami and Provolone on a soft long roll. After removing the onions as he always does, he seemed happy with his meal. It was a big sandwich and he was done at halftime. My Burger was decent, with American Cheese, Sautéed Onions & Mushrooms. The roll was not quite up for the rigors of the meal, and began to soak up the moisture in the sandwich and fall apart. I switched to knife and fork to finish the job. The side of Fries were also adequate, but plainly of the frozen variety. While it wasn’t a memorable meal, it served its purpose of a good rest stop along the highway of life. One very unique aspect of Delmar Diner was that Dr. Phil was on the HDTV during Happy Hour. I guess that dispenses with the need for a wise bartender to help patrons with their problems.

Went there besides of all the positive reviews and I was not dissapponted. I would highly recommend this place. The hostess and waitress were nice and so accommodating. Really made the meal enjoyable. Only complaint was the I ordered the scrambled eggs dry and they had been cook in butter, but most people will like that.

I’m there at least once a week. The prices are very reasonable, food is always good, and service is always great! Favorite place to eat breakfast by far!

Nice little place and clean. Service was attentive and friendly. My eggs, bacon, toast and grits were very good but my daughters chocolate chip pancakes a little burnt. All in all good but I felt 3 stars will average out the rating to reality.

Very nice diner, clean with good food made from obviously fresh ingredients. Service was excellent as well. Don’t go to any place in Salisbury. We tried them all during our vacation there. Drive a few miles north to this one. Loss of one star for lack of real butter in cooking and for the toast. IMHO there is no 5-star diner that doesn’t use real butter.

Very relaxing, recently renovated, great prices and very good home style food… what more would you ask for? I really like the club sandwich, which comes with fries, slaw, and when they offer their special, it comes with soup… For under 8 bucks! Woo-hoo! Breakfast is also a great deal! Don’t pass up the chance to stop by and enjoy great food, service and prices!

This is a great place for a quick bite! Having recently moved to the area I stopped in here for a bite on my way up north. I was pleasantly surprised. After a long string of «diner» experiences that had me looking at a menu with prices ranging from $ 8 to $ 15 for«diner» food, which I think is outrageous for«diner» food, it was nice to finally hit one that had regular, normal prices. I had the club sandwich and it tasted great. It came with fries, slaw(awesome slaw), and soup(because it was a «special of the day»), $ 7. My server, Stephanie, was helpful as could be and always had a smile. The restaurant itself was good sized and clean. Even the bathrooms smelled of bleach. Yeah really, bleach! Nice huh? I don’t remember the last diner restroom I went into that smelled clean. The only drawback of the place is the french fries. It’s hard to explain the type of fries they serve here, but they come from a vendor as I have run into them before. They’re the fries that are supposed to be «coated», but really aren’t. The only coating I can ascertain is some orange greasy exo-skeletal(my inner geek coming out) shell the fry is enclosed in. I have stopped eating at places simply because they serve these types of fries they’re so gross. However, since the rest of my experience was great I asked Stephanie if other things could be substituted at no cost. After a quick run down of 4 – 5 items I was satisfied I would have other options upon my return. Thank goodness! I will return.

Fast, friendly service. Appears newly renovated. Now serves alcohol. Fair prices for decent size breakfast portions. Something sticky on my fork handle and a persistent fly detracted from the meal.
