Not very good service and the cut was pretty rough. It looked OK, but not fun getting it.

Cut Zoo Overall: 4⁄5 Price: 5⁄5 Service: 4⁄5 Atmosphere: 3⁄5 Overall: Quick, cheap, convenient and decent job. Price: I got a(guys) haircut for 12(not including tip). Its hard to fine that cheap price given the speed and experience they possess. Service: The staff was friendly and professional. Easy to make small talk with during the haircut. Had 5 people in front of people. Only waited 20 mins. My haircut took 20 mins to finish. Atmosphere: Very old. Should really update with more waiting seats and stronger AC in the summer.

I had a hair trim — no wait, quick and good. If you pay with credit or debit card it‘s a little more than in cash. I paid by card and it was 12.25 $.

Been here 3 times now to get my hair cut. Each time has been quick and easy. Each time I went on a weekday afternoon and there were no lines. My general strategy for getting my hair cut is to walk in and ask them to make me look like Paul Walker(RIP). At this point I usually get a chuckle because I look nothing like him except I’m white and have blonde hair, but this place has gotten the closest so far. The prices are also very reasonable.

First, I should establish that I’m a female with very dry, curly hair that most stylists can’t seem to cut. I’ve paid plenty of money at high end establishments only to have them give me a bad haircut. Jeff at Cut Zoo, however, has curly hair himself and always takes time to go through my layers and take off the amount of damaged hair that’s needed. He also listens, which results in me getting a good haircut. All in all, even when I tip $ 10 or $ 15 in addition to the cost of the haircut, Cut Zoo is cheaper than the fancy/trendy places and I actually get a good haircut. If you have curly, dry, or unruly hair, ask for Jeff. He listens and knows what he’s doing. I would imagine he can cut straight hair well too if he can cut my mess and make it look good:-)

We were driving by and my husband realized be needed a haircut. We stopped at cut zoo and Danielle did a fantastic job and including tip it was less than $ 15. We have been back since and have had consistent experience each time.

Rose noticed things about my hair that only my mom(a stylist of over 35 years) has ever noticed. She gave me a wonderful haircut and at an affordable price. I’ll be going there from now on.

If your not a regular then don’t even bother. I’m going to have to get my hair cut tomorrow again! This is awful! How can a «professional stylist» cut my hair like my mom used to when I was 5. The guy was nice so I paid and didn’t make too much of a hassle but when I got home my girlfriend thought I cut my own hair?!? Not a good first impression!

This place always gives you a good haircut. Been going here for over a decade But I feel like they are in business with wells Fargo. The debit/credit card machine has literally been down for 5 months. Add 2.50ATM fee to your tip if you don’t have Wells Fargo.

Last month in Atlanta I needed a haircut so I called my friend Jason and said so. He told me that he was getting a haircut tomorrow, that I was welcome to join him but it wasn’t a fancy schamancy salon.(I have been going to the same place for 15 years and is far from a fancy salon, but Kevin does a great job!) It was a great place to get a fast inexpensive haircut from a nice stylist who had a great attention to detail. You go in, sign your name to a list, and take a seat — you can request a certain stylist, Jason had Daniel and I had Rose, but that makes your wait longer at times. Rose took her time to make sure she gave me the haircut I wanted and I walked out there feeling like a million dollars for only $ 15!

Good haircuts. The wait is short, the price is right.

For 7+ years, this place was my go-to barber/salon. I remember when I first saw this place in 1998 — with the zebra print 70s-era Toyota Land Cruiser parked in the lot. That car, along with a lot of the appeal of this shop, are now gone. My barber left a few months ago and forever negated any reason to drive 25 miles from Alpharetta for lunch and a haircut in Decatur. He was the best one in the shop, and there was usually a line waiting for him. The other barbers/stylists were OK, but they all had their quirks that cut them down a notch from my guy. If you CAN find someone here who cuts hair well and you can forego the dilapidated interior, Cut Zoo is still good for kids and convenient to the Emory area. They’re just not for me anymore. I wish them well and hope they continue to have a bustling business regardless.

Cant beat the price. I have been going to James for years, hard to find someone that can do a fade as good as him.

When my hair gets to the helmet stage of it’s existance and I am forced to get a haircut I always think I’ll try some fancy salon with hip and hot tattooed stylists. But then I step into one of their salons without an appointment(I know I should make one in advance of course) and they cannot see me for a couple of hours, the only stylist working is neither hip or hot, and I’d have to pay 30 bucks for a cut. So I normally wind up at a Great Clips hoping for the best. This scenario happened yesterday, but instead of hitting Great Clips I headed here. The wait was minimal for a Sunday afternoon, the price was right $ 12, and the cut was satisfactory. Of course my stylist was also not hot or hip but she did a great job, had me out quickly and I was pleased with the results. And that is what I look for in a hair cuttery place if I am really honest with myself.

I’ve always seen this spot, but I’ll admit that I’ve always been skeptical. However, after getting a freakin’ hackjob over at Axiom, I decided that I needed to find another spot to give a shot. The main draw was that it was a shop that does reasonably-priced men’s haircuts. It delivered. For about $ 16, I got a pretty good haircut that I was certainly satisfied with. It probably wasn’t the best haircut I’ve ever received, but it was definitely good and for only 16 bucks I was pretty satisfied. If you aren’t a super high-maintenance dude and are looking for a decent haircut, definitely consider giving this place a shot. I’ll definitely be going back here. 4

If you’re a normal guy(and not a high maintenance /hair obsessed metrosexual mirror-starer) and just require a regular haircut, this place is for you. The people are friendly and will have you out in no time. Cut Zoo is not just convenient, it’s also as cheap as it gets($ 11.75 if you pay w/cash). I’ve done the Great Clips thing for years, and I get just as good of a cut here for less while supporting an independent business. I know guys who go to private stylists and spend $ 70(I know – can you believe this??) on a damn haircut that looks exactly the same as the one I get for less than the price of a 12-pack. If you’re a goober who just wants to give money away for no reason, then be my guest – it’s a free country. I’ll be at Cut Zoo.

Not having been shorn since the beginning of May(hence, almost two months ago), I found myself in desperate need of a haircut to keep my short pixie-cut style looking decent, and just having moved to the North Decatur area at the beginning of June, I had no idea where to go(and as a soon-to-be new graduate student, not too much money to spend). As it was within walking distance to my apartment, I decided to take a chance on Cut Zoo. Yes, the service is minimal(your hair is spray-bottle dampened and cut), but in my desperate and fairly apathetic state, I found the end result to be completely acceptable for $ 12.75(with credit card, $ 11.75 cash). I would not recommend this place to anyone(especially any woman) who cares very deeply about their hair, but for those who are risk-taking, easy-going, time-pressed, and/or financially challenged, this place seems to be as good as any.

I got my haircut from david and I got a great bob cut. for 11.75 it’s a bargain, but don’t expect much other then just a cut. you won’t be getting any shampooing or any special treatment. The place is large, and it’s pretty much where alot of the Emory kids go, mostly guys. Don’t be afraid ladies it’s a bit scary I know but don’t be afraid. Just know what you want, and if what you want is a stylish don’t come here, but if what you want is a basic clean cut. then this is it!

Worst haircut ever. And my hair is so easy and simple!!! I went there because I had two people recommend it for a quick, inexpensive trim. I didn’t want to pay for an expensive salon cut because I am typically under whelmed regardless of where I go, but at least everywhere I have gone in the past(even Great Clips) have had stylists that could cut hair evenly. I sat down in the chair and the entire time the stylist was sniffing his nose. Constant sniffing. It was really gross and icky. And he did not even comb out my hair. It was as if he were terrified he was going to pull to hard and hurt me. It was such a horrible experience it was almost surreal. When I got home I looked at the back of my hair in the mirror and it was jagged and uneven, and not in a fashionable way. It was more like in a kindergartner-with-kid-scissors-got-a-hold-of-my-hair way. Well, I will certainly chalk that experience up to a lesson learned. Fortunately it did not cost too much and my hair is still long and grows fast. Maybe the other stylists, or cutters, or whatever you want to call them are competent, but this guy was really lacking and I will not be going back.
