Lauren is amazing! The first time I went to her was for my wedding; which in itself is always nerve-​wracking to find someone for that special day. She was professional, fun, and best of all, did my hair perfectly. I definitely recommend her for weddings — my hair lasted all day and was exactly as I had pictured it.
Since then, I go to her for my cuts as well. I have really long, thick hair, and she does it so well. She’s also the rare stylist that actually cuts off the amount you want her too — not more than. Although she’s a little far away from where I currently life and there are definitely closer stylists, I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair.
I also sent my husband to her, who has been cutting his own hair his whole life. She did an amazing job and now he feels his own cuts just don’t do anymore.

I must say I am surprised I have not written a review for Lauren yet. I have been going to Lauren for my hair cuts and highlights for coming up on 3 years. I found her on Unilocal as well and liked her reviews for being good with blonde color so I tried her out. She has done my hair and both my young children on occasions and has even come out to my home to do our hair for a family photo shoot and I have always been very happy with my hair. She also is very aware of styles and has helped me when I want to try something new. She has amazing customer service and is super friendly and always gets back to me promptly too. I highly recommend her for cut and/​or highlights. You won’t be disappointed!

Love, love, love this salon and Lauren. She does amazing hair and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. She has a Keurig, water, soda, candy and always the latest magazines. Furthermore if you drink she’ll even provide you with a nice adult beverage. It’s even better because each stylist has their own room with a sliding glass door that closes. So you don’t have to listen to the «usual“hair salon gossip. She’s very reliable and stands by her work. If you’re looking for a new stylist you should check her out. Cheers!!!

Lauren is simply amazing! I went to her for a few years and then when I moved to SF I tried to find someone new in the city because it was tough driving back and forth to the east bay. After trying 5 different people in SF and never being satisfied I went back to Lauren and couldn’t be happier — she is so worth the drive! She is a perfectionist and does an outstanding job. I recently got my hair done and literally had everyone in my office, my friends, family, etc. comment on what a great color/​cut she did. She is also a blast to hang out with and I always enjoy chatting while at her adorable studio. She is also affordable… can’t recomend her enough!

I was referred to Lauren by my wife, after she told me SuperCuts/​Great Clips/​Whoever I had a coupon for wasn’t cutting it.
Lauren has been nothing but awesome in the 4 – 5 years that I have been going there. She is great at letting me book appointments weeks in advance, and in the instances where i forgot, she has called to see if i need to come in or been flexible to fit me in to her busy schedule.
In short, Lauren is awesome and i would recommend to anyone looking for a quality cut.

How about a male’s opinion! I used to get my hair cut at a barber, but no longer. A friend of a friend told me to check out Lauren and I have never looked back. About 10 hair cuts now and every one is great!

Where do I begin? Started using Lauren at my daughter’s wedding and now we are all living happily ever after.
Lauren was recommended after the stylist for our pre-​wedding «practice» appointment didn’t show up. Lauren showed up at our home early on the morning of our daughter’s wedding. She was polished and professional. The make-​up artist got lost and was running late, which made my daughter very nervous. Lauren handled this and turned the situation around by reassuring my daughter. Wow, that alone was worth a fortune!
For the wedding Lauren curled an styled my daughter’s very long and think hair. She then did my other daughter’s hair which is a different texture and length. She did my hair and my husbands. All perfectly. She is very versatile.
My family are all now customers of Lauren. She is phenomenal at color. She had good suggestions for my hair and it has never looked so good. I love her shop. It is well decorated, bright and immaculate. A very relaxing environment. In a world where it seems customer service has been lost forever, it is wonderful to find that costumer service still exists and is doing quite well at Elle J. Studio.
Bottom line: In a field where finding a true professional is difficult, Lauren shines brightly. She is professional, on time, listens intently and performs beautifully.
I was pleased her with reasonable pricing as well.

I went here for the first time Saturday @ 10am based on other Unilocal recommendations from Forty Sixty Two as well as the sole review for Elle J thus far. I am SO GLAD I found this place… I recently moved to the area and have been asking for recommendations and searching Unilocal high n low for a hair stylist nearby. As anyone knows, changing hair stylists can be a horribly scary and regrettable endeavor… I love the idea of a new hair stylist, but in reality it can be downright frightening.
Lauren could probably sense my nervousness/apprehension…but she totally made me feel at ease and right at home the moment I walked in. We talked for a good 10mins about my hair, all the while she’s studying what my former hair stylist did, reassuring me my hair was in good shape. We decided on a game plan and she got to work on my long blonde hair (partial highlights and a trim was what i needed/​wanted, and Lauren was on board.)
After the 2hr appointment, i was absolutely relieved and delighted with how my hair looked. It was superb! I was absolutely thrilled and RELIEVED at how great my hair turned out… She also mentioned she specializes in blondes so I feel pretty confident that I will be a client of hers for a long time after everything.
Best of all, Lauren is AFFORDABLE, not to mention amazing, professional, and friendly… bonus point: she’s flexible with hair appointments, score! I look forward to my bangs trim inbetween cut/​colors! I can’t stress, stop looking for a hair stylist… Go see her at Sola Salon, simply put: she’s awesome.
