Shell Service Station

This place sucks! You can give them your business by buying their overpriced gas & beverages but they can’t seem to ever have their bathroom not «out of order» to their customers purchasing these pricey items. You know the sign is B.S., if you don’t want people to use your bathroom than take the restroom sign off the door and tell people you don’t offer a restroom. It’s because Shell the franchise owner requires their franchisees to offer a restroom and this is their way of getting around that franchise requirement. I’m going to report them to headquarters. Not only that, the inside store is very dirty. The heavy set gal working behind the register is not very friendly. Go a block down to Chevron where they offer clean, working restrooms to their customers that keep them in business. Their gas is always $.20 — $.30 more per gallon than the average gas station.

Ray, the Service Manager, is awesome. We will not take our cars anywhere else for any kind of work. He is honest, fair, and extremely good at this job.

Propane is only sold from 8 – 5 despite the obvious ability of the gentleman working to dispense it…
Not entirely sure why he felt the need to be so very rude while describing the hours of operation for propane filling but that’s his problem.
Won’t be returning just based on the horrible, rude service. There’s plenty of other, less expensive gas stations in town to give our money to.

I won’t go anywhere else to get my cars worked on, after finding this Shell Station in Dana Point. The head guy there is named Ray and he not only really knows his stuff but he is honest and fare in his pricing. he has helped me numerous times and Im so grateful that i found him. he laos always gets me car back the same day. The only time my car has ever had to spend the night at the shop was when I didn’t get it to him until after 4PM. I feel like Ray is a stand up guy and I trust him completely with my vehicles. I know that he will do what he says he is going to do and for the price that he quotes me. How many times has some mechanic told me one price just to call me back within the hour to tell me that it was going to cost twice as much as what what originally quoted to me? Too many to count. Check this station out and say Hi to Ray for me! You wont be disappointed.

They wouldn’t accept a Shell gas coupon I bought from Groupon. I do buy propane only because there is now where else to go. Staff are never happy to serve me. Their prices are always on the higher side as well.

My low tire pressure light went on and I drove to my local shell station to fill them up. I decided to ask the mechanics for their help. To my surprise they said, «Just pull up behind this car and we will take a look at it in about 10 minutes.» Not even 5 minutes later my tires had air and I was on my way. I asked how much, there was a sign clearly stating the price, and Ray said «just a smile will do». Wow. That’s service. You just got a new customer. Thanks Ray! You are wonderful.

Service Manager Ray was great! He explained everything he was doing and was up front with all costs. I would highly recommend for car repairs, cheaper than dealership

Ray took care of me and Big Blue (band van) now my band The Futures League can hit the road again! Thanks Ray you are a legend.

The mechanic at this service station, Ray, is good. He takes great care of my car in a timely manner. He also did my smog check, which was quick and convenient.

Ray is a very good mechanic he always gets my car back on the road. This is not a discount service station but as always you get what you pay for.

I meant with Ray the service manager to bring my dodge diesel in for service (yes they service diesel)!!! The job was was done in a timely manner, price was great, oh and by the way Ray called to let me know my truck was finished and there was a small concern. i asked Ray to take care of it. Whala i show up earlier than quoted, and my truck was finished. While i was paying i meant the owner of the station Mike, very pleasant and nice. It is a nice feeling when you can leave your vehicle somewhere new and feel good about it. My intuitions were rite on! Thank you

Ray looked after repairs and maintenance on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee from 2008 through 2013. I was getting very frustrated with the usual dealer upsell on repairs and services and much preferred Ray’s honesty and prices to be honest. Work was always done on time, within budget, and guaranteed. Great job!

Ray ROCKS!!! He is always Honest, Efficient, and Genuinely a good guy who looks out for his local customers. I took my car here after being told by a dealership that I needed $ 2700 worth of work done and Ray assured me that nothing seemed to be of great importance and to just keep an eye on my car and bring it back in 500 miles. Thank you for saving me from the depths of dealership hell!!! A customer for life!

I took my SUV here for a SMOG certification and repair of a brake light. Ray was professional and was finished within the 30 minutes he estimated. I did make an appointment. The SMOG check was $ 72 and the brake light was less than $ 20 including the bulb. I plan on going back for an oil change. I am also told there are coupons online. Pretty straightforward place, organized, efficient etc. While you are waiting you can walk around the neighborhood, there are plenty of shops and restaurants and the harbor is only a couple of block away.

My 82 year old father had been a loyal customer of this Shell station for over 15 years. He always brought his car there for repairs. Over the years the personnel have changed. So the mechanics that he came to know and trust moved on and the unscrupulous and incompetent ones moved in. He brought his vehicle in after it started stalling out on him while driving. He spent almost $ 1700.00 for repairs and the problem did not get fixed. Every time he would go back, they would tell him to drive it around a little more and see what happens. He did what they said. The stalling problem continued and got worse. But when he’d go in, they’d ignore him or treated him rudely. This went on for a couple of months. My father is a kind and courteous man. He also has health issues. He didn’t deserve to be treated this way. He ended up donating the car and buying another used one. And he won’t be going back to Dana Point Shell. Beware if you take your car there for repairs. Shame on you Dana Point Shell.

I took my truck here for new rear brakes, mostly due to its proximity to my place in Dana Point. I used a $ 20 off coupon I printed from their online ad. The cost worked out to be very competitive and reasonable.
They were very professional, on time and the new brakes are great. So based on this first time experience with a repair job at Dana Point Shell, I would recommend them.
