It’s almost like a little hole in the wall amongst other random stores and shops in this center. It’s all about the chicken katsu or chicken cutlet with extra gravy on the side, spam musubi & crab lagoons. Portions are big. Come here hungry. For those«petite» eaters, they have mini plates so don’t feel guilty for eating carbs and breaded fried goodies. They got you covered too.

I don’t know who took over this place… Possibly the kids but they are rude! I called to place a take out order and I told her that I needed to place an order. She plain said«what do you need?» Food is still good but unsure if I’d continue giving this place my business.

All right so this is a small little place off the beaten path. As such it’s not so sophisticated, but man the food is good. The food is island style, which I don’t know a lot about(I’m a flatlander originally) but I’m learning. What I do know is that for around ten bucks you can get more food then can be comfortably eaten. That will get you a large combo plate-two scoops rice, one scoop macaroni, an entrée such as teriyaki porkchops, moco loco, beef curry, katsu chicken or suchlike, a fried sandwhich-hamburger, kastu chicken, mahi mahi — or musibi(sushi with the fish replaced with spam or sausage) and a drink. They do take credit/debit cards-with a ten dollar minimum charge which is how I currently know pretty much exactly how much food that gets you. The seating area is clean and the décor is bright which makes a nice contrast to the usually cloudy daly city weather. There is a parking lot shared with other business in this strip mall, but parking will be available unless the martial arts place has a class going on. During those two hours, you’ll be finding a spot on the street. all in all this is an excellent restaurant to get your feed on.

Food is ok but the girl at the counter is horrible. Rude and barely looks at you. It’s like she doesn’t want your business. I won’t be coming back here. Too many other options to eat in Daly City to deal with this kind of treatment. It’s probably a family owned business and they make her work there. Maybe she should go get a job somewhere else. Btw, the bathroom is gross. Now my tummy hurts :-/

I ate dinner really early and at 8:30pm was starving for something substantial and quick. I did a quick search and always wanted to try the loco moco(2 fried eggs on top of 2 hamburger patties over rice topped with thick gravy and side of macaroni salad), added side of BBQ short ribs for ~$ 11 was a very filling, very satisfying late night meal vs the standard fast food option. This facility is run by nice Cantonese older lady and line cook. There is no bathroom here, but relatively clean. The TV was off, but I was getting takeout, so didn’t care much. In and out in about 7 min. The flavor seasoning was light and needed a dash of katsu and hot sauce available for the asking.
Yessirthanks ..

I love the chicken katsu plate lunch. I love eating the rice and Mac salad. I always order an extra scoop of Mac. Teri chicken plate lunch is good too. Not a bad taste of the islands. Kids liked it too. I crave this occasionally.

It’s hard to find places like these anymore. Sometimes I just want a greasy portion of chicken katsu over rice and macaroni. These places are all over southern California — it takes some effort to find them here. Great price! Less than $ 8 will fill you up for lunch and dinner. Solid pieces of chicken. Kind of divey attitude when you walk in — don’t be intimidated. If you’re not so hungry get the mini — its enough food

I usually come here whenever I am craving Hawaii food, so I decided to have Hawaiian Drive Inn cater my graduation party. The food was delicious! It was a party hit, everyone loved it! Additionally, the food was super affordable for catering a large party(100 people) and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely use them for my next party.

You cant beat $ 2.75 for a Burger. I got the teriyaki steak burger. Was pretty good. Cant complain for $ 2.75. The cashier was friendly & spoke Cantonese with a little English, although she was a sub and we probably wont see her again unless someone doesn’t show up for work like on this visit.

My favorite place when it comes to Hawaiian food super yummy and great prices. I love the Hawaiian donuts and bbq masubi. But I rather go there when the older lady is working because she keeps the place very clean and always has a great attitude. The younger lady who often works there isn’t so great she doesn’t keep that place as clean and always comes off rude.

Loco moco. Lau Lau. Saimin noodles. Fried everything. Ohh I have been here a lot. You can imagine, food is always good. Hot and tasty. Only down side is parking. Because of the laundry mat next door. But if you laundry to do and your Hungry this is the place. Portions have gotten smaller one scoop if rice instead of two. No matter because I have a rice cooker and rice at home anyway. Not the cleanest of places but food is good.

I usually order to go here and I can honestly say, it’s been about 10 years since I’ve eaten inside. Why you might ask? Well for one, the inside is pretty cold considering the door is left open as long as they’re open. The bathroom from what I can remember isn’t very clean and I feel like this place has been set up to mainly have your orders placed to-go. I normally come here because they’re one of the few Hawaiian bbq places with chicken katsu masubi. Yes, it is THAT serious. Other than that, their ribs, bbq chicken, chicken katsu are pretty standard to the next Hawaiian bbq. I must add that the service here isn’t the greatest. Having worked in multiple customer service roles in different industries, I have received some of the poorest service here. I believe this restaurant is family owned and for the most part, one of their workers didn’t even greet me when I came in to pick up my order. I kid you not, she said to me «hi what do you want». Aside from the rude greeting, she didn’t smile not once and didn’t even thank me when I said thank you for receiving my order. She seemed very miserable and if I were a new customer, I would’ve gotten a horrible first impression. To be honest, I only come here for the chicken katsu masubi and nothing else. Oh, they’re also cash only! If you’re in the mood for specifically chicken katsu masubi, come here but if not, there are a few other places with better customer service!

Bait and switch SCAM artists. Website has different prices than what they actually charge in store. They actually charge higher when you’re there. BAD place.

I decided to come to this Hawaiian Drive In instead of the one I usually go to because I was around the neighborhood. I grabbed my usual order of Spam Musubi and Chicken Musubi and was on my way on a relatively short amount of time. The sauce tasted a bit funky and different than what I’m use to. The price are a bit more inflated then the standard Drive Ins so I had to knock a point for that. Can’t really say much about the interior except it looks quite dim inside despite all the lights. I’ll give this location another try before setting my opinion about this place set in stone.

This place is in a little strip mall just across the street from Holy Angels Church. Parking is CRAMPED. The restaurant itself has a greasy/dusty kind of feel with yellow walls and old, cheap luau decorations scattered here and there. It could probably use a thorough cleaning and Taniya Nayak from Restaurant Impossible. So, why would I give it 4 stars? Because if you want some«I have no shame in eating greasy food that reminds me of home» kind of food, this is the place to go. Their portions are large. Their prices are great for families, students or ANYONE on a budget. The chicken katsu has huge pieces of chicken thighs. The hamburger steak, from what I can tell, uses all beef and not filled with grains. The gravy on the hamburger steak isn’t too salty or too thick. The short ribs are seasoned just right and not tough. The teriyaki dishes aren’t too salty and also pretty tender. Overall, this place is definitely on my guilty pleasures list. Hope it makes it on yours too.

Place is alright by me. Portions definitely bigger than L&L’s close by, so you get value for the money. I typically get the Seafood Platter which has Mahi-Mahi, Shrimp, and choice of BBQ Chicken, Ribs or something else. The fish and shrimp are breaded and fried. The combination is good but the fried stuff is always so dry, it sucks the saliva out of my mouth. Ribs here are good, tastes like Korean BBQ ribs except more dry(seems like a theme). They are supremely generous with the rice they give per plate. I’ll have to try to Loco Moco next time. I find it funny that this place is run by an old chinese couple that will speak Cantonese with you if you want(they did with me). Hilarious but unprofessional.

This location is a lot«fancier» than the other one I’m used to in San Bruno. It’s not really real Hawaiian food but it’s better than your standard L&L stuff. Me and the miss usually get the Loco Moco and one of the plates(bbq or seafood). Sometimes the curry too. Pair that up with some masubis on the side and boom, you’ll be stuffed and knocked out from food coma before you know it. I’ve only done the take out but looks like there is plenty of parking and seating in this area. The reason I say it’s fancier is because they have a more extensive menu than the other one. I’ve definitely gotta come back and try out the other stuff. Oh, I think it’s more expensive than the other one? I have to verify this…

This was my go to spot at least once a month for all the family parties I go to. Once a month, minimum, by the way. Always the same order. Same price. Same portions. Or so I thought. After today, I don’t think I’ll be heading here anyone. After countless times of ordering Chicken Katsu(large) for party size, today was the cherry on top of this review. I paid for the food in cash the short Chinese lady didn’t even bother to give me a receipt. I stood their waiting and she left to go to the back. I ordered the food a week ago. She said it’d be ready by 3:45. It’s 10 past 4 and I was still waiting. Now I’m late for my party. My mom checked the food as I’m driving off, surprise surprise. THEPORTIONDRASTICALLYGOTSMALLER. I paid for a large, almost $ 70. Why did she give me a medium amount of food in a large sized party tray? I can clearly see the bottom through the chicken. If you’re gonna lowblow me with food, at least arrange it to look fuller. I called them to give them a chance and figure out what was going on, she didn’t even want to explain and hung up on me. Okay. Thanks. You just lost a regular customer.
