I booked my first appointment here thru a co-worker’s recommendation. Love her hair so thought that my experience would be nothing less than stellar. While at the salon there were several clients that had fabulous haircuts/and color. There were even a few kids getting their hair primped. Small but cozy and chic. If you plan on making an appointment make sure you have AJ tell you where they are located. This place is hard to find if you are not familiar with the area. The salon is literally behind Nuvo and J.Douglas. Be careful since there are one way streets at every turn. Cons of my experience First, my appointment was booked for 12p-115p. I was seen from 12:15p-3:20p.(AJ booked the slot) I did come-in on a Saturday plus got highlights wich I know take more than an hour. Second, my stylist was still coloring a client’s hair so I waited 15 minutes for him to finish. For the remainder of my time at the salon he toggled between her and me. AND a third client that came during the end of my process.(Probably why he didn’t tone my hair) Third, I asked for full highlights. I came in as a brunette but walked out with strawberry blonde/orange-ish hair color which was not my definition of highlights. This is probably not new information, but I neglected to bring a picture. Always bring a picture. I did not bring a picture because in my mind highlights mean the same thing to everyone. I was wrong. Fourth, my stylist did not tone my hair and instead told me that I should buy purple toning shampoo. He also told me to give it a few days. I gave it less than 24 hours and I hated it. **He did offer to tone it the next day, but for me its color 101-tone that ish and I had already spend $ 30 on the toning shampoo/conditioner** Fifth, I ended up having to put a store bought box of brunette hair color over dye job. I was not going to work on Monday with the strawberry blonde/orange-ish hair color! Sixth, after going back and forth with the stylist about my hair and what he could do to fix it I had to concede. No apologies were given from him or the salon manager. Even when I flat out asked. I was given a partial refund of $ 75. But walked away super disappointed in the service I received(it happens) but most importantly the way everything was handled after voicing my dislike. My take away A simple apology goes a long way. I didn’t even want my money back in the end. Just an apology or ‘sorry’ this happened. I am sure that William Carr is an awesome dude, but I cannot say the same for all the employees. AJ, the manager kept re-iterating that the stylist that did my hair was independent of the Salon and does not work for them or represent the salon(Fellini was my stylist). Yet, he has a station in the salon catty-corner to William Carr! He represents William Carr Salon whether you feel he does or not. There is nothing in the salon that tells you who works for the salon and who is ‘independent,’ well until a complaint is made. I hated to write such a negative review but if I can save someone else all the trouble and hassle it’s worth it. No apologies.

I booked my first appt here with Nisreen less then 2 months ago and my first time was so great that I decided to come back again and I’ll come back again since this place is very convenient to my home and office. I got the Brazilian blow out last time I was here and it’s been working out lovely for me. I haven’t really used a straightener which I love since I’m always pressed for time. Now, I’m getting a root touch up, trim and style. Everyone here is nice and my hairstylist Nisreen is very professional and my hair is gonna look great. I’m not even worried about it. I noticed not many reviews here so not sure why but decided I may as well take the time since I’m very satisfied with the place. It’s very clean and there’s parking out back for the salon. The salon is kinda hidden so it’s in the back of where maps tells u to go. :)

Heather Mitchell is the best colorist and hair stylist I have had the pleasure to work with. I fly in from NY and parts Europe so she can cut, style and treat my hair. I have been at the best salons and artists in the wonderful Big Apple, but Heather is a natural talent and i am sure my past stylists would begrudgingly agree! You know talent when you see it. Its really hard to find natural talent and when you do, you hold on to them and you fly in(from anywhere!) She’s that good. I just hope she stays there. I don’t want to lose her!

I have been going to Bill Carr for 14 years and I can say, as an ex hair stylist myself, that his work is as good as it gets. He is not only an excellent stylist, he’s also a super nice guy. All of the stylists there seem to be quite good as well, their client’s hair always looks wonderful. The salon is nice, people are professional and the atmosphere is welcoming.
