This place has really gone down the shitter. Teenagers with torchys shirts on dip Doritos in queso and talk with friends while you are waiting to order. When they finally get to the register they just stare at you. I had to ask if I could order. No greeting, just a passive aggressive smile. Getting an order to go ready must be the most difficult thing for teens to do as people who dined in and where ten minutes behind me received their food fifteen minutes before I did. I waited over thirty minutes for 4 tacos and queso to go y’all. During this time the teens kept eating Doritos with queso. At times they would go to the kitchen to check on food. Twice I was asked did you order this or that as the confused teen held to go bags in his hand. Nope… And you gave me a number to go with my order! Unfortunately this experience isn’t unique. I’ve ordered food to go before and had similar outcomes. The tacos are inconsistent too. One day they will be gigantic. The next, they will sparsely have any ingredients sprinkled on them. My food came out wrong. No green chiles for the trailer park? No guac in the queso?(Happens all the time.) Okay, I was frustrated but decided not to wait another 30 minutes for distracted kids to try to fix my order. When this place hits it hits, but man there are just too many misses for me to return. I’ll get my taco fix elsewhere.

Edit: Upgraded to 3 stars, b/c management reached out and promised to change the problems plaguing this location. Here’s hoping they actually do… —- Hate to post a one-star review, but the other posters are right: this location is a disaster and corporate needs to seriously examine the managers here. I’m in a service industry too and I can tell you, the performance here is abysmal. I’ll be brief: placed an online order, arrived 20 mins later as directed. Not only did we have to wait an additional 20 mins, but the order was botched when we got home and opened the bag. «OK, we’ll try again,» we thought. A week later, we ordered at the counter at 9:24 pm, waited about 25 mins, and still didn’t get any food(even though the restaurant was nearly empty). When I asked the manager what was going on, he rambled something about how, «Um, the oil is being changed.» At 9:40 pm? 20 mins before closing? Really? C’mon, man, that’s either horrid mismanagement or an outright fabrication. And why didn’t you tell us upfront? We left without getting any food. If only I could get my time refunded too… Having visited your other locations in Dallas and Austin, I can tell you: this one is a blemish on the company. I encourage anyone from corporate to go there, undercover, around 9 pm and place an order. My hope is that this post can lead to better training and a change in service, so other customers don’t have their time wasted in the same way.

My favorite is the friend avocado –I get it not fried. They also have amazing breakfast tacos. I’ve never had a bad taco from there. All locations. Great staff too!

First time at this location… I usually frequent the lication near Farmmers Branch… the service was generic at best. I expected our bartender to yawn out of boredom several times while ordering… Pretty sure I witnessed first hand someone’s eyes glazing over. The food was cold and the presentation subpar. Queso was still stellar. which at least kept my eyes from glazing over. Next time I’ll just drive to Farmers Branch.

The tacos here compared to rustys are twice as big, but the prices are also that much more. I really enjoyed all the tacos here. We ordered 9 tacos that sounded the most delicious and eye catching and enjoyed most of them. We were really full since we have 9 tacos for 3 people. I love that I asked for extra sauce and they gave me a big bag with 10 – 15 little containers of sauce. Even though it’s crowed here but it didn’t too long for food. I’m really starting to enjoy tacos, and this place I really recommend.

This is one of my favorite places to sit at the bar get a small bite and a beer. The bartenders are amazing and the service is too. HOWEVER the reason for 3 stars is that over the past half a year my favorite taco, the missionary, has been slowly declining in quality, less meat, onions, and sometimes no guacamole at all even tho it’s standard on the taco. Also the tacos are getting more messy, it’s starting to look like random ingredients thrown at will in no foreseeable order on a tortilla

I wish I could give them 0 stars. I love these tacos and atmosphere. It’s my favorite regular hang out! But this location has the worst staff! I have literally watched my food sit in the bar area for 10 min and then try to serve it to me. Inattentive bar tenders and servers. I’ve been here multiple times out of convenience and it’s the same every time. I hate this location. Disappointed.

Tacos are pretty good. I expected small tacos as most are but these are a good size, 2 should do it. I got the fajitas tacos with chips & gueso.

Really great avocado tacos as well as queso! My boys love it, they especially love DEVILBABY! I love that the soda machine serves something other than Coke, DP, Pepsi. I really appreciate the INDY brand sodas, great call! We usually eat there every 3 months or so and it’s excellent. One downside is the music is a bit loud but you can tune that out. I suggest you try different menu items, lots to choose from. I will say this REPUBLICAN(I am really more conservative than a Republican anymore) enjoys the DEMOCRAT, great bit!

Went once early on. Very chain like, not authentic at all. Food was lukewarm to cool and had to be sent back. Tacos were, well, not real tacos, mostly silliness and really mediocre in taste. Never went back and would never recommend. Blah. Really disappointed because it’s so close but if I want fast casual fake Latin food I’ll stick with Chipotle.

This was our second time going to Torchy’s and this is the second location I’ve been to. Family wanted to go here before making a trip up the road to the arboretum. These places always seem to be packed and the service and quality of food just feels subpar — especially for the price. We just have not been wowed by Torchy’s which surprises me because I don’t generally think we are that picky about tacos and especially since this place seems to do good business. Not sure what all the fuss is about though — our food just wasn’t good. Cold and overpriced.

This place is great. Favorites are the queso, independent taco and lime margaritas. We go about once a week. Laid back and usually good music. If they get something wrong they just fix it and don’t argue. I even left my wallet with $ 140 plus and came back to get it the next day and everything was still there. I think my sister left her wallet one time also and had same experience.

I come here often. See previous reviews. We stopped by on 1÷3÷16 I had the Mr Pink and Mr Orange also a Chicken Taco. The fish taco’s are for sure the best In my opinion. Had a couple of $ 3.5 Michelob Ultra and chips and guac. Overall great place one of my favs and a great value.

Torch’s offers delicious chips with cheese dip. This is the primary reason I will visit them. The cheese is simply different and over the top delicious. Their tacos are good. They do the modern taco fusion deal, if that is your thing. I’ve tried the republican, the democrat, the independent, the trailer trash(I think that was the name), amongst others. I can’t say any one stood out as killer to me. I’m more of a classic simple South Texas taqueria taco kind of guy. Give me six small simple corn tortillas with some pulled pork, cilantro on the side, and some home made exceptional spicy sauce. You will not find that here. These are overly stuffed fancy looking well presented tacos. I can’t say the flavor has ever been disappointing or bad, but I can’t really remember any one of them standing out as a need to eat type of dish. Truthfully, the flavors, when mashed like these are, have a tendency to blend together a bit and get lost if you ask me. Not in a negative way, but nothing really stands out. I do give them a 3 as they have a tendency to build their places with a stunning ability for acoustic reverb. Add in a a crowd and LOUD music, and it is a bit annoying. If you’re into hip young places that are loud and present fusion tacos, you’ll like Torchy’s. If you want some of the finest chips and cheese dip ever made, come to Torchy’s.

My lunch experience here was awful. I ordered online and when I got to the store to pick it up, the employees were unorganized and they did not work very fast. Me and my girl friend went to the fountain drink machine and were trying to fill up our cups; however, the area was so small that people kept pushing us around. When we finally got our food, we drove home to realize that we were missing half of the order even though we had paid for all of it. We went back and had to wait another 15 minutes. The service is slow; although the workers all appear rushed and chaotic. But I will say that I like the décor of the restaurant haha. Nice

Torchy’s has lost some of its customer service appeal. I’ve eaten here numerous times, and while the food here is really good, sometimes the customer service just isn’t. Yesterday was one of those times. My husband and I came to eat around Happy Hour. We were about 2 of 10 people total in the restaurant when we arrived. We were the only ones in line; however, it took at least two to three minutes to be served. The food arrived in a timely manner, and as always, their cheese dip is one of the best I’ve ever had. I ordered their new Turkey Mole taco, and it was OK. Not fantastic, but certainly different and not unappetizing. I ordered a few more drinks, and the bartender seemed to take forever to get my order, but there were only two other women at the bar. All in all, I will still return to Torchy’s. I would like to see an improvement in their customer service.

Have you been to the Torchy’s in Austin? These are not as hip as those. However, the food is just as good and the service is always friendly. I usually get the queso – if you read my reviews you will notice that there’s always queso involved. Their queso is of the green chilie variety which makes me happy. And then I get the Trailer Park and have them make it Trashy, because that’s how Dena rolls. Also, I go on Sunday’s because I’m on the way to visit my 102 year old grandmother, yeah yeah i know how flippin blessed I am to have a grandmother still with me at 102. But seriously I need a margarita on the way, so this place is damn fine.

This location compared to others is fantastic! The bartender(I wish I could remember her name) was a doll and extremely inviting. Margaritas on the rocks were delicious. Not overly sweet and no overkill on the tequila. The ahi tuna tacos are amazing in taste. I would have given a 5 Star rating if the tuna wasn’t over cooked and dry. Still tasty!

Good God, I crave Torchy’s. All the time. I think Torchy’s is one of those places where you gotta find YOUR jam and then you’ll love it – I once had«the democrat» which, by god, I surely am but I didn’t like it and I didn’t go back to Torchy’s for a few months. But then I ordered a Baja Shrimp taco and ever since, my world has been rocked. Torchy’s is not an authentic taco stand a la Tacos La Banqueta. It’s new fangled style tacos made fun with cool ingredients. Yes, the soda machine is full of Mexican cokes and pure cane drinks. Just drink a tea if you can’t stand that, or check out their big olé full bar. Some people get way too excited about their soft drinks. Errrrrbody calm yourself, 100 years ago everyone just drank water for chrissakes. The guacamole is also some of my favorite guac in town. I could probably JUST eat guacamole for lunch if someone would let me. I keep meaning to plan a trip to Torchy’s for dinner and have some margaritas and sit on the patio overlooking the scenic Buckner Blvd(heh) but I haven’t gotten around to it. Maybe next Friday! Lezzzzz do it.
