Too bad if The Bone is closed — it was one of the best bars I’ve ever been to! The bands were great, and the roof with the view of the city was second to none. Hope it re-opens by the next time I visit Dallas. Hell, I should buy it if it’s for sale!

No frills, no gimmicks, just a bar with a rooftop patio. We came here on a Tuesday night and had a pretty good time. The bar itself is decently sized, broken off into 2 sections down stairs and then the rooftop patio. I would come back just for the rooftop. Pretty good sized with a view of Dallas/Deep Ellum. The bartenders were nice and kept the drinks coming and like Andrew T. said, they played a good selection of music. Not bad at all.

Pretty cool Bar. Came here for a Twitter Event. Bartenders were really friendly and accomodating. The DJ was spinning some pretty nice indie beats. What’s really cool is they have a huge upstairs patio. My friends and I grabbed several pitchers of beer, some plastic cups, and an epic game of flip cup ensued. I really like this place and it’s only bonused by the fact I love Deep Ellum. To hoping I happen on this place again.

Anyplace with a mic and music and drinks = good time in the making. Drinks were like so: $ 3 wells, $ 4.50 Blue Moon, and you get my drift. They have a separate pool area where you put in quarters to play and that section also has a wall that just opens out to the street. Someone must have shaken their little rainstick because it was POURING that night. I could only peek out onto the ROOFTOPDECK. Me sad. But next time, adventure awaits! My only complaint is the DJ/karaōke situation. I signed up to karaōke with a group and then waited for others to sign up ANDTHEN I signed up again. For someone reason, the DJ gave me a little on-stage berating… which was annoying and unnecessary, and now that I think of it… very targeted as there were other people who sang just as frequently. And were not punished. Let’s not dwell on that, for the DJ that night might have thought the initials stood for Diving Justice. Don’t rain on my parade!

If having one of the best bartenders in Deep Ellum wasn’t enough, which in my mind made the entire stop in a success, AMAZINGMICHELADAS! Stopped in during a little Pary Pub Cruise and found these amazing Micheladas. Garnished with a little heart gem on the side.

Love The Bone. My favorite bartender no longer works there but everyone else is super nice too! Don’t forget to try the Juicyfruit shot: D its delicious! There is a cover when they have live bands but it isn’t very much. Karaōke night is pretty fun too. The bathroom stalls have a ton of TP rolls and sometimes you find that a drunkard decided to just wipe themselves on the rolls without taking the paper from the wall. Kinda like a bear scratching its back on a tree… SO try to use the top rolls if you need to potty. lol

Love, love, love LOVE this little place. Prefer the chill rooftop patio over the noisy, crowded downstairs. And if you get there before 8:00, there is no cover charge, but after that I think it’s around $ 8. I just had a perfect birthday celebration there… about 15 of my friends met there at 7:30 and we ordered food from Mama Mia’s, who delivered it to the rooftop… blues band started playing around 8:30. It was a perfect, laid back evening which then turned into a little craziness around midnight when the bar picked up(and our buzzing picked up as well!). SO much fun… and the bartenders make your night even that much better! There are sweet ones, goofy ones, and serious ones, but they all just put that extra something into your experience here. If you want to try a new beer out but aren’t sure which direction to go, just ask! I have now been turned onto a Rahr brew that I love, simply because I asked for a recommendation. Miller Lite drafts are only $ 2.50, and some of the bottled beer gets up to $ 5. I love this place and will continuously return!

This bar is quite nice. The rooftop is a great place to chill and drink. The prices aren’t bad and the music is great. It does get a bit loud on the bar level, so if you want to talk(without yelling) its best to go up top.

Why«hello» there little bar with an excellent root-top patio in Deep Ellum! I think you may be my new little favorite spot to get away from it all. :) Pool tables, Shot Club(seriously), live-local music, places to play some poker and full bar… yes! Surprisingly, maybe it’s just me, but«The Bone» doesn’t sound as chilled as you would expect, but my friends it’s so easy going. As soon as I walked in I knew I was home. Come as you are and drink, because they will give you plenty of options(I did say they had a Shot Club, right?). Great service, clean restrooms(they have enough toilet paper to cover all the Highland Park neighborhood trees) and chilled crowd. Give this place a try! Oh and PS, they don’t serve food but you can BYOF if you want to.

Wonderful Bar… Love the Rooftop and the bands have been wonderful. Glad to have The Bone up and running again. The new owner is going to bring Deep Ellum back to the glory days. Great management here wish they sold food, but Mama Mia’s is right down the street so no worries. They make them stiff at the Bone, that is the saying now days. Yes, the drinks are good and strong. Did I mention the wonderful new rooftop! Oh, how I missed it. Fun place with a fun atmosphere!

Ah, definitely what I picture a bar on Elm Street. The only place that I mostly spent at the Bone was the rooftop patio. You can see the view of the city, and a rooftop bar for your convenience to order your drinks, AND a stage where a band can play their gig. Again it was one of those bars that I hopped around during the pub crawl event so I wish I could say more. Hopefully one of those days I can swing by Elm Street again.

Super pumped this place is back! They have the best rooftop bar in Deep Ellum and everyone there is so swell. And on Sundays in the summer they have waterguns and baby pools for Sunday Funday. So much fun. And in case you were wondering, they have 17 toilet paper holders in the girls restroom(handicap stall)…just in case you gotta go!

Remember back in the day when Deep Ellum was an every weekend foray into drunken barhopping fun? I do and my favorite place to get tanked and make bad decisions was always the Bone. It was always packed and the DJ always played the most kickass music to shake your ass to. The rooftop patio has amazing views of both Deep Ellum and downtown and it used to be just as packed as downstairs. This is a place I went to for birthdays, a place I took my friends who visited from out of town, a place I took my friend to for her bachelorette party, a place where I almost got in my first fight with some rude ass bitch for bumping us on the dance floor, a place where I kissed a guy from work while drunk and had to embarrassingly apologize that next Monday. The kind of place I LOVE! Sadly Deep Ellum isn’t what it used to be but since I was already down there I wanted to see if it was still open. YESSS! There was a cover because they had 4 or 5 bands playing that night. Inside it looks exactly the same — bar down the right side, dance floor/DJ booth/Stage on the left. Still has a nice bartender with a heavy handed pour. Still has the bombass rooftop patio where we sat and enjoyed the weather, the view, and some smokes. And still has the pool tables in the room behind the bar. It brought back memories and made me happy. The Bone is still good and I am just sure that it is going to be packed again in the future! As the plastic cup I still have from back in the day says«You just can’t beat the Bone!»
